In this video I'm sharing my closet clean out method that ACTUALLY WORKS. Clean and declutter my entire wardrobe with me! I love decluttering my space often, especially at the start of a new year to kick it off on a fresh foot. Freeing up hangers and making space for new items feels so good. The goal for 2024 is to STOP shopping fast fashion and trendy items, and start collecting timeless pieces I love that are made from organic materials like cotton, wool, silk and linen so they last longer in my wardrobe. You definitely shouldn’t throw out things that are stained or damaged, if you love them! You should clean and repair. The things I love are so precious to me, they don’t have to be perfect.

Did you mean Allison Bornstein from the book Wear it well? She starts the same way by pulling out everything you love and wear all the time. Then the ‘not now’, the Don’t know how’ and hard no’s. Then she incorporates the don’t know how’s back into the clothes from step 1 and builds a personal style from there. Love that method too!

Every time I say I'm going to start wearing grey, I just accumulate grey clothes that never get worn. Love that you organized your closet almost like a showcase in the center :)

My problem is I have no clothes. I folded my clothes on my bed and it was hardly full. I get rid of clothes on Vinted or H&M recycle and then don’t buy more. So this morning after sorting I went and got some really nice spring pieces from H&M 😊

I would have done it the other way I would take out what I don't wear and leave what I do wear in the closet so I wouldn't have to put it all back in and all I would have to do is take the other stuff off hangers and put in a bag or box to donate

I didn't see this video before I basically cut my wardrobe in half, but I used an approximation of this method: I pulled the pieces I actually wear, plus the pieces that go with them, and everything else -- everything I don't actively want to style -- is in a bin and will probably go to charity within the next six months. That is, what I didn't immediately donate (one whole trash bag's worth).

i declutter my clothes/closet a couple of times a year but ive never tried it where i take out all the stuff i DO wear. thats really interesting. and somewhat terrifying to see how FEW of my clothes I probably ACTUALLY wear LOL I'll be doing my closet at the beginning of march and I think I may use this method (if I can bring myself to do it!!!! :P )
