Hey boss today United 24 reported from the 47th brigade and they said the abrams tanks was NOT pulled from the front line and that the associated press that made that report was either Russian disinformation or just false reporting..could you look more into this matter because the 47th brigade is doubling down on the usefulness of the abrams as it is indeed VERY effective fire support regardless of the increase of Russian drone activity thanks mate

This situation should go into every military’s training manuals on what exactly can happen. This should have never happened and usually when you are relieving a unit you should have temporary overlap and even be over strength. The whole thing is a damn shame and a mistake that is unfortunately going to cost many lives.

@@vladislavchekunov4530 I'd argue it's a little easier. I'm not a soldier but I do follow history and this war is not the same as afganistan. In Afganistan soldiers were constantly worried about who the enemy was, was it the little kid with their hands closed? possible grenade? is it the two civilians walking alongside the convoy? whats in those little toyota trucks? If the us fought a more conventional army like russia they'd kick their ass because you know where the enemy is. It's less gray to worry about. Ukrainians know where the russians are and what they look like, they dont have to deal with "whos the enemy?" as much. There's a reason the United States.. the most powerful military in the world.. lost in Korea, Vietnam, and the middle east.. and it wasn't because of training, and equipment. You can chock some of it up to tactics and strategy but there's no real strategy to partisans other than genocide, brutal oppression, or somehow convincing them you're not invading.

Ok. Paul. I am going to draw an analogy between what is happening in that area and what happened at Custer's last stand.
    1. Custer was actually leading an exploratory column, scouting for the main force that would meet up with him. Other than that the Indians were mobile, he had no reason to attack without knowing the strength of the opposition. Still, having split his command, and having left the machine guns behind (yes he had machine guns with the pack train he left), he attacked, was outflanked and his command destroyed.
The Russians know that they are about to go up against an influx of weapons. This is the last opportunity to make gains, then pray to the Lord of Wars that they can stay. Any effort to deploy troops, deploy stock piles of supplies, deploy armored vehicles to hold these fains will be unavailing. There is no opportunity to dig deep trenches, pour concrete, dig tunnels in the next two to three weeks when everything is exposed in the agricultural fields. Any minefields were initially laid by the UA who knows the deployment.
If I were UA command, I would not plan on a withdrawal over 2 to 3 weeks. I would not deploy the supplies coming in with an eye to starting an offense in 3 months. I would plan to accumulate the incoming supplies and then flank attack the Russians sooner than the Russians expect. The force in the area is the Russian 25th Army which was being trained in Russia for the 2023-2024 winter offensive. It had to be deployed early in October 2023 with two divisions instead of the planned four divisions. It has been in the field for 6 months. No rotation.

From the information I have gathered in the last time, the problem is that the combat power of certain units no longer is what it looks like on paper. Many of the units suffered heavy losses in the past that could not be compensated sufficiently or at all. For example it seems that some units had been heavily refilled with fresh recruits with no experience. Even worse it was even claimed by some sources that recruits were pulled from the training grounds although they did not even finish their base training. Due to this the numbers alone can be misleading.

The Los Angeles Times noted that Russian strikes on Ukraine and Ukraine's attacks on Russia have intensified recently. The largest thermal power plant near Kiev was destroyed, attacks on other regions continued, and in response Kiev hit at least 66 UAVs in the Krasnodar Territory. And Ukrainian officials, who, as a rule, refuse to comment on strikes against the Russian Federation, began to talk. The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine explicitly stated that two refineries in Russia were hit. Against the background of the duel and after the approval of the new aid package, the United States announced the allocation of missiles for Patriot air defense systems. But they did not want to commit themselves to the supply of new systems.

A vast majority of the "large movements" in this war, aside from the Ukrainian's first major offensive (and maybe some recent Russian gains)...can hardly even be measured in Kilometers. This has predominantly been a neat grinder of an attrition style trench war...with miniscule gains/losses, massive casualties, and the creation of absolute wasteland. Your boxing metaphor is interesting. But, and it is a significant counter, the assumption is that there will be a lag in the pressure that Russia has been applying. We must keep in mind that Ukrainian formations have been severely degraded by the constant pressure Russia has been applying not just by soldiers on the contact lines but also bombs, TOS, missiles, artillery etc. Ukraine hasn’t been given the luxury of a break since they just don’t have enough soldiers to rotate out with fresh troops available to rotate in. When the war is over and an epitaph is written about Ukrainian failures perhaps the most glaring will be the numerical superiority of Russian forces over those of Ukraine.

Everybody makes mistakes. It is human nature. What made Grant magnitudes a better general than Lee was he learned from his mistakes and never made the same one twice while Lee was making the same mistakes at the end of the war as at the beginning. Russia learns from its mistakes, but it seems to learn its lessons a lot slower than Ukraine does. Yes Bakmuht was a mistake. It looks like Sirskey learned from it because he didn't make the same mistake in Advika. Offenses consume a lot of resources. Not just this war, but they always have. Ukraine will probably let Russia use up its resources on this offensive. At least this is what I would do and pick my fights. I used to play poker for a living. I could never understand a guy who was happy about getting all of his money in on a coin flip. I would rather pick my spot and have a 9 to 1 advantage. Yes, sometimes that opportunity never came, but I was still playing after 30 years and they were usually busted out after a year or two.

Paul is beginning to sound more and more like the French Generals of 1940. The Germans kept advancing, the French would draw stop lines on a map. A task force was assembled, commanders appointed, equipment issued, orders issued. Then, just as they were about to move, the position had been overrun. So a new line was drawn, a new set of equipment issued, new orders issued, and just ask they were about to move, that position gets overrun. And on it went, day after day until they could only draw lines the other side of the Channel Ports!

But the 1st part, to overturn the humiliation of 1914-18 and to reverse the treaties that followed, was a massive German victory. For the Soviets too. Those were the reasons the two did what they did. June 1941 onward, war was fought over very different issues.
