It would be unfortunate but slightly amusing. At least the Russian buying them would be giving some of their money to Ukraine.
couple of things to note, when he spoke about the grenade, he mentioned that its a 1990 manufactured grenade, and so is the spare fuse.
Also, the AK was an AK-74, not an AK-101, the russian soldier was even joking saying "look at this "new rifle", a fucking '74", it was also someone elses, as his own rifle was destroyed by a drone strike

Hey, great channel watch it daily. Just FYI: Carbon Dioxide (CO2) isn't great, but Carbon Monoxide (CO) is a killer. Keep up the great work!!!
Co2 will give you a monster headache... Co won't ...lol
You beat me to it.
Pretty much this. Been around wood stoves my whole life and my conscript time. I have seen and slept many dugouts and tents with wood stoves installed and never have I herd some one dying from carbon dioxide poisoning or the more dangerous one monoxide poisoning. About 0-1 conscripts die per year during the service and it's all over the news. Never have I heard someone dying from stove related incidents, even some tent fires.

Not Carbon Dioxide but Carbon monoxide is a far greater risk, and it is caused by partial combustion of carbon-containing compounds like wood in that stove.
yeah that's probably what he meant to say.
Yeah that stove would scare the crap out of me. Given the state of the place, a gas alarm would be out of the question.
Regarding the wood burning stove, it's Carbon Monoxide, the silent killer, (Not Dioxide, CO2) that is the risk and the reason all gasses need to be sent up the chimney.
Carbon Monoxide is x500 more efficient at attaching it's self to Red Blood Cells (haemoglobin) than Oxygen. So Blood Oxygen levels decrease with every breath that contains Carbon Monoxide.
Carbon Dioxide is exhaled by humans (all mammals) and also used to put the bubbles fizzy drinks. If the CO2 were lethal no one would ever leave a pub alive.
We humans have an acutely sensitive feel for co2. This is the feeling of "I can't get enough air", and the responce is triggered by the co2 levels in the lungs being too high. It is important to know that we can't accurately sence oxygen deprivation. This is why you can breathe helium or laughing gas until you go unconscious. We convert oxygen to co2 by breathing, but if you don't breathe in any oxygen, you won't produce any of that co2 that should trigger the suffocation responce.
Yes, you will die from too much co2, but a person will cut their own feet off with an axe before succumbing to co2 poisoning. Try and hold your breath until you pass out, you just can't do it. (It is possible by hyperventilating first, but that is a way of cheating the responce by saturating your blood with oxygen)
Carbon monoxide on the other hand, is even worse because not only does it not trigger a suffocation responce, but the gas binds to your blood and prevents you from taking up oxygen all together.
25:42 He actually tells, he's the last one left, after the other were injured. Also, he lost his AK and doesn't care much about that. In general, his criticizing/sarcastic tone sounds like he's done with the situation.

We have had in house fireplaces with no chimneys for about 15-20 thousand years. Pretty sure a little stove like that will be fine bro. :P
True. People have also died from carbon monoxide poisoning for ages too.
Even a very mild case of carbon monoxide poisoning will make you slow, sluggish and dizzy.
A poorly designed stove may be more dangerous than an open fire, because the open fire tends to die out, but the stove contains the heat better, keeping the embers burning even with a shortage of oxygen.
It is pretty easy to make these trench dugouts air tight, by the use of plastic tarps. A traditional lean-to or a simple hut built above ground will always let some air in, just by the way they are built.
One traditional type of shelter that can be almost completely air tight is an igloo, and they are notorious for causing carbon monoxide poisoning.
When your a soviet soldier who's life expectancy on the fields of Ukraine is less than a month well i suppose they dont worry about keeping there dugouts clean and tidy and shipshape.
If you were a Soviet soldier fighting in Ukraine in the year 2024 you would be worrying about nothing, because you would have mastered something that Einstein said would require travelling close to the speed of light (ie:time travel into the future).

Dear Paul, with the 'this is the real bug-out bag' segment you inspired me with a new way of thinking and got me to seriously prepare emergency supplies and medical aid supplies, which I have been very irresponsible about until now. I have 2 tiny boys in Japan, and the impending war with China, possible bombing, interdiction of trade including energy supplies, cyberwar, or earthquakes and tsunamis really called for better behavior from me, for years. We're in the process with my wife of preparing bags, stuffing them with all sorts of camping goodies, foodstuffs, tools, tarps and disposable raincoats, testing out emergency goods, buying powdered and instant tablet milk; but also stocking up on physical cash, rice, oil, peanut butter etc. Any day now there could be several more people alive in the world thanks to your videos. With gratitude and respect, your viewer and listener.
Pro tip from someone who has been through a tornado. Pick a few spots for you and the ones you care about to meet up in case you need to abandon your home. Getting back together with my family after that was a torturous process as my parents were at work and I was on my way home from school when it ripped through.
I'm a roofer who mainly reroofs existing houses. Typically there's a certain amount of rotten wood that would need to be changed out. Even at work I would conceal carry (it is the law in Florida). But religiously I would have massive amounts of sawdust and shingle granules on my trijicon red dot. So I did exactly as he said and would spray it with canned air every night. After about 6 months I told the girl at the dollar general, where I would buy it, what it was for. Come to find out they all thought I was huffing it lol.
You don’t need a bug out kit when you are dead in about 48 hours 😅. You need coffe, thats it

Fun fact: Freshly ground coffee wasn't widely available in the USSR, but freeze-dried coffee was. Most of it was of marginal quality, but it was cheap. Imported freeze-dried was often available at a premium. So freeze-dried coffee remains a staple in Russia today. This is because of logistical reasons in vast remote regions, but is often preferred by those that have access to the fresh product. It should be said that even the less expensive varieties are much better quality now and there was little variety at all in the "glorious Soviet Union".

21:40. - regarding superfluous straps on backpacks, our CADPAT daypacks/rucksacks and tacvests in CAF (🇨🇦) had this stretchy/elastic loop sewn into every strap so that you could roll/fold the straps up and secure them! But yeah, those loops integrated into all our backpacks and tacvests/rigs straps were genius and yet, such a simple solution ha! CO comes from a incomplete burn and CO2 from a complete, both are present in the stove emanations and both can kill you. CO binds with your hemoglobin and doesn't allow the oxygen to bind to it.

@@crissdizick9403 I mean obviously his condition is poor, and much of it is his/his squads fault for having it so cluttered, but I think Combat Veterans comment on the logistics is somewhat poor, both sides have extensive drone control over these areas and despite EW beginning to become prevalent in Russian areas, its still not everywhere, not to mention that many of these trench areas are in hard to reach places and trucks would be very vulnerable to being hit, much better to send guys out to deliver them or have men go from the trenches to the truck and receive their supplies rather than closer delivery, which risks the entire supply package being destroyed.

The smartest nutritional way to gain some edge is to ditch sugar, coffee and any other addictions. Keep peanuts which contain 50% fat and 20% protein. They are highly energy dense easy to contain and do not leak or rotten. Depending on candy is the worst thing you can do. Ditching the addictions give yourself best chance to survive in the hardest situation. Any even small excess mental and physical energy is welcome. The ketogenic diet helps to survive because you don't get constant sugar cravings. You already run on fat. No sugar or other substance cravings is the way to preserve mental energy and preempt distractions.
huh? - lol - sugar coffee, cigarettes, and dip are all soldiers consume. You think they give a crap about being in 'ketosis'? lol
@@GeorgeLerma It was just an idea to get more chance to survive. Idea of ketosis is that you are fueled all the time. Not like one hour after candy intake.
@@KetogenicGuitars i get it. i actually agree with your point. It's just not reality in the trenches.
@@KetogenicGuitarsThis is all very true. I was actually introduced to keto by a LT. (which he had no name for and just called it his diet) in Somalia in 1993. I was surprised to see how fit he was always eating fat. Yes, all addictions will simply give you a brief physiological effect but then a powerful crash. With that being said maintaining a keto diet in warfare is tremendously difficult. You need a good 2500 calories a day in those conditions and addictions are the only comfort you may have. Many soldiers develop addictions in service. It’s been going on for centuries.
@@SeanP7195 I actually got that addiction point(about only comfort). In some context with special forces ketosis could be tested. It is absolutely demanding as the whole team must be fully behind it. If you slip you will get keto flue and it is very counter productive. Some particular individual who knows himself and the ketosis science inside out can use the benefit. That said we all have been using ketosis in mothers womb about 9 months. One thing about testing ketosis with special force team is to understand every individual is little different in that how much carbs break the ketosis and incite addiction effects.

Maybe someone already pointed it out, but the fact that the wall behind the stove has started to char is worrying. It's a deffinit fire hazard. It should be covered by sheet metal, bricks or tiles. This will also help reflect the heat into the room for more effective heating.
Guy in a hole casually handling an old grenade in front of the camera...
Combat Vet: my god, guys, this is really dangerous, look how these guys have left old food out...

Excellent video 😊!
Lol. So the Ukrainian soldiers are living in 5 star trenches?
Well done on missing the point of the video that badly.
@@phillydelphia8760You mean wombats cope ? Or your blind obedience to BS
@@Peacewar2020 no, I mean you completely missing the point of this video.
Do you have comprehension problems?
Some if not the majority live under similar conditions..
I knew this would become a commercial for Strikegum
In my army days every unit at individual vehicle basis had an unofficial 'Ritsel-kist' or 'Russle-box' where you could find all kind of non-army issued or additionally acquired stuf that made life easier/more pleasant for soldiers. Officially this was frowned upon, but it was tolerated for morale considerations. Generally the NCO mafia would overlook the use of this.
Like what?
The most I saw was snacks and I'd bring my laptop.
100mg of caffeine is nothing. Literally every day at work, I take 200mg at morning coffee break and another 200mg at lunch.
That strike gum seems like a good alternative to drinking a shitload of sugar. I avoid consuming sugar at work because it makes my blood sugar crash about 3 hours later.
Lyndon B Johnson once said, "It is better to have your enemies inside the tent pissing out then outside the tent pissing in."
But...sometimes you owe it to yourself and your allies that the enemy is no longer capable of pissing anywhere ever again.
Iron sights? Omg. Open field warfare with iron sights is insane. I'm not even a combat vet or active and I have a scope on my rifle. Sent literally to die. It's fucking sad
I used an optic once in basic training. The rest of the time was open sights. Most units, especially non combat units don't use optics.
Hey it worked in Finnland, they thought it would work here too. Alas...
The question is if other side uses optics on mass scale?
@@Ozark-nq9uu Yea but the thing is, when you look at the combat arm of a western army, like the Us for example, sure it’s reservists are lucky if they get old acogs and most rear line units have ironsights. But any frontline infantry unit is gonna have optics. You hardly see optics on Russian rifles in their front line units.
US Marines qualify at 500 yards with iron sights. Some US Marines recieved optic for the first time going into Fallujah. After the battle they were investigated for suspected executions due to the amount of single headshots taken.
What I would like to know is how far from the frontline this is taken. It looks like this setup took a while to get into this state. What would make sense to me is that either it is somewhere where the frontline does not change much, which means someone like this has some time to dig in something like this. If it is in a place where the frontline moves, it would have to be farther from the frontline. Or maybe it once was close to the frontline, but as it moved, the place stayed behind. But if that's the case, wouldn't this guy be ordered to move closer to the front line, in which case he'd be forced to abandon this little place.
Its wired, has electricity … of course not close to frontline …
No military experience but lots of outdoors, alpine, climbing etc.
My treat was chocolate biscuits in a hard box. Your treat my vary and it wasn't the biscuits but having one thing that wasn't squashed, crumbled or otherwise made as lifeless as possible. The little thing of one item not fu*ked up lol.
More organized than I would have thought.
#MONSTER drinks in Russia???? Never going to drink them again!!!
Russia sent more than 15.6 million metric tons (mt) of Russian LNG to EU ports last year, according to data analytics firm Kpler, a slight increase from 2022 and a 37.7% jump compared to 2021. (REUTERS)
C02 in Russia? never going to breath
Use common sense … of course they sell in Russia … and are doing business as usual … its energy drinks not tank parts!
Nobody can ever say any trench isn’t a mess! Trench warfare is hell!
