It is hard for me to put into words how much I love the Glass Cannon Network.
My high school mascot? Yeah, the Tornadoes, which became official in 1940, a year after one in the area carved a path 25 miles long and killed 9 people. I don't know if the school took the name to appease some weather god or because the Fighting Ebola was already taken, but there it is.

Right after Hurricane Harvey in Houston, the new high school in my district voted on their mascot: the Hurricanes.
Yeah, my kid's high-school became the tornadoes after one from a hurricane destroyed the school or the gym or both. That's just a thing people do.
Australia doesn't have school mascots, but we do have the Wiggles.

I know there are a lot of voices complaining about how long these intros are, how long it takes for you guys to get into the game. Please don't change. This is how most rpg tables look like, just shoot shit until you want to play, we need this kind of way of playing to make ppl understand what it looks like to play rpg's with friends.

Back in the 30s, Walt Disney let a girls’ Catholic high school in Philly, JW Hallahan, use Mickey Mouse as their mascot for as long as they wanted! Unfortunately, the school closed in 2021, but for decades they go to use one of the most iconic characters in history as their mascot for free.
We have a coffee shop here (Asheville) that makes a drink called a "Wake the Hell up Rick James" and it's a Coke over ice with vanilla and two shots of espresso. Best hangover drink ever.
Attack of Opportunity should trigger whenever an enemy moves in a square that is within that player's reach. On page 474 of the Core Rulebook you can see an example of this.
So it doesn't trigger when first entering the first square of a player's reach, but any additional movement that isn't a Step will trigger the Attack of Opportunity. It's not quite like DnD5e where they need to leave your reach to trigger it.
Look into 2e rules, not everything has AoO
either edition bleed or house rule.
Attack of Opportunity triggers upon leaving a square, not entering it, so it does not trigger when entering into range. it triggers moving between two squares that are threatened or from a threatened square to a non-threatened square, but not from a non threatened square to a threatened square.
@@kwagmeijer26 Exactly. Nowhere in the rules it says entering, it says: "A creature within your reach ... leaves a square during a move action it’s using." But the question was totally irrelevant because it also says: "Once your first turn begins, you gain your actions and reaction." No reaction, no AoO.
@@kimchung864 GM can determine if players or creatures have their reaction before their initiative based on circumstances, which seemed kinda like the driving motive behind Sydney's question about it.
The Myrtle Beach sounds like what we used to call Jet Fuel back in my restaurant days. Half coke, half coffee, creamer, hella sugar. Chug chug chug and that got you through those rough weekend night shifts.
Myrtle Beach is named for how well myrtle trees grew there. They have a distinctive smell were introduced into England by Sir Walter Raleigh, along with oranges. He was kind of an invasive species "Johnny Appleseed". I grew up in the Carolinas. Myrtles are ornamental. They generally do jack in comparison to the apple and pear trees that were not invasive but took care to get good yields, but once a decade made you wish the compost heap was not in your back yard.
To me, Dr. Pepper tastes like cherry cough syrup mixed with licorice. Two flavors I lost interest in in my childhood.

18:40 I was also in a highschool with the crusaders as a mascot. Even ignoring the other questionable implications, it always struck me as odd that we'd use the crusaders as a mascot when so many of the crusades failed.

I loved this ep, Sydney's natural catisms are hilarious. Loved Matt's acting along with the cover story/dress up, super natural, would've awarded a hero point for that, or let Matt roll bluff to Aid Joe's diplomacy. Skid is always top notch, Boggles is an very good take of "peepsqueek with power". Joe's "gut reaction grab" was cool. And Kate's just badass.
Oh ... and is there someone I'm missing? I heard they got some new guy, a "Trent Lovely?" Yeh that one can have a strong 2. He seems alright :P

Do the weird crits also skip effects that trigger on crits normally? Bow crits have deadly for example (assuming a normal bow). That's a lot of effects to miss out on on a crit.
No they just forget. New campaign and such
you roll each time on persistent damage, not once when it is applied, so for produce flame, you would roll 1d4 at the end of each turn the persistent damage is active rather than rolling a 4 when applied and thus doing 4 damage each time.
Hot dang, I'm gonna need to try this Myrtle Beach mix. Remember when there was a stint in Giant Slayer when the guys were supposed to reveal recipes for meals they enjoyed making? Was it a Minnesota brisket or something for Troy? Can we get a smaller scoped stint in GW with the crew trying different mixed drinks, alcoholic or otherwise?

Re: Produce Flame and persistent: The persistent damage on a crit is variable every round. It's 1d4 that's rolled every round at the end of the enemy's turn, not rolled once and then "that's the persistent damage."

For years my Dad never let me live down my classic Tab soda incident when I was little and first learning to read. I looked at The label which read "Sugar Free", and thought to myself that's dumb. And started spooning sugar into a 2 liter bottle which instantly turned into a reverse rocket spraying the floor, ceiling, and the entire kitchen in Tab. Even after some serious deep cleaning, the entire floor was still movie theater sticky for quite a long time.

I went to OSU for grad school. While living in Columbus my friends and I would frequent a hot dog themed restaurant named Dirty Frank’s. They mixed orange juice and whiskey and called the Buckaroo Bonzai. I appreciated the reference and the drink was pretty good too. And apparently the word “obnubilate” derives from the Latin word “nubes,” which means “cloud.” It’s related to the words “nebula” and “nebulous” :)

Mixologist chiming in on the laverne and shirley reference. Milk & pepsi is a "cheap" variation on an NYC classic, an Egg Cream, just cola instead of chocolate syrup and club soda.
When I worked in ~fine dining~ we had a drink behind the scenes that we called a “hot Carl” where we just mixed a cup of regular drip coffee with an equal part of Coca Cola and drank it as fast as you can. It was lukewarm because the coke was cold and the coffee was hot. Before you ask, no, it was not good.
We were the Christian Cougars in HS. Really doesn't hold up over time 😂😂

On the topic of throwing feces, there was a one shot theatre show in my hometown during the 80's which made national news since they finished the show by throwing their own feces all over the audience. One of the newspaper pictures was of a theatre critic who's eyeglasses were covered in brown stuff. Funniest thing is that the cast are still famous actors/directors here.

Unrelated, I am loving the new campaign. The cast and production are stellar, and Troy is a great GM as always.

We got to "vote" on our elementary school mascot too. I was one of the first group of students to go to the new school and each kid got to draw art and say why their new mascot should win.
While I admit my dolphins pick probably wasn't the coolest, the "teachers" suggested the mascot that one in the end. It was a while back so maybe I forgot, but I sure don't remember seeing a vote count. And it was that day I knew I couldn't trust elections. /s
