- I am back with a Virpil Quick start guide. In this video I go over how to put together your new throttle and or stick base and handgrip. Then we set up the software, download firmware, and calibrate your Virpil throttle and stick. And to finish things off I help with button bindings in DCS and Flight sim 2020.

Thank you for this video. I just got my virpil stick and cm3 throttle today.. looking to get into DCS, and I figured buy once cry once, its nice hardware but videos like this are a must for people like me.
Just bought a set, and was -horrified- to see Virpils Manuals and software. THANK YOU YOU BEAUTIFUL PERSON! Their own manuals nearly gave me stroke..

Jon, Sir, just received my CM3 Throttle today! Your channel popped up when searching for my throttle software.
Watched the first few mins if your intro, jumped to the throttle section. A couple mins into that, you're brilliant for this! I can tell I'm gonna get setup because of you! Now, lemme get back to your instruction, thank you!

I've gotten a newer model but it's the first time I've ever splashed so much cash on a joystick and throttle.. And I was just about to send it back - but thank you so very much for this.. Jesus Christ thank you for making this video. I spent the whole day wondering wth I was doing wrong only getting X and Y axis. You have to pull that little connector and plug it in directly before screwing it in! They really need to make some instructions as detailed as yours because I was having an aneurysm.
Thanks for the tidbits saved me a lot of headache, perfect quick start for my Virpil controls coming for Xmas thanks again.

My DCS installation requires adding additional logical buttons in Windows be in sequence. Any skips prevent DCS configuration from recognizing the button. I spent quite a few hours figuring this out. Just saying... Thanks for all your great stuff on Virpil!!!!

I don’t have Virpils pedals as of yet I am going to be getting some soon.

HI, i have a slider on my cm3 which i turned before from axis to button, when i try turn it back from button to axis it will not respond, axis z is on zero value (a slider)

But id like ask you some questions, because...already 9 days after buy it and until now the service from the virpil is not really good.
How long took to receive your order?
i thought it was a directly buy but i receive a mail and they said its a preorder! and...no more information...i guess the product looks really good quality..but the customs service... well...im still waiting they answer.

It took me 10 days to receive my order. I did order before they had pre orders. So total time was closer to 25 days. I had to keep checking the restock and within a hour they were sold out again. Having the pre order is nice but also sucks waiting. I had to cancel a order thru another company due to delay and the order kept being pushed out. COVID-19 has really slowed down the process for many companies that is no excuse for poor customer service let me see what I can do.
Read the faq of Virpil, if you only buy the throttle is about 1 month of waiting time before they send it to you. in the forums you can search for estimated delivery times.
For your reference , I order a throttle and warbird+alpha on 6th of september and i was 2 months , received it 2th of november.
@ yeah, one month more or less, they contacted me and is on the way the throttle.
They had troubles with the server that's way I didn't receive any information after made the payment.
But for me it was very strange, they made many movements in my ccard, Income and withdrawals of amounts without informing me previously. I didn't really like that. It had never happened to me before with other purchases on the Internet. Now everything seems stable, and waiting for the 19 of this month to receive the package
Great Video! I just received my CM3 and I have been having some difficulty; can't get any of the buttons to work/ be recognized other than the x/y/z axes. Installed vJoy and Joystick Gremlin, but so far, no dice. Did you have any issues with your OS not recognizing all the buttons?
Did you go thru the calibration process? Virpil doesn’t come calibrated out of the box.

@@justingehrls811 Not sure what it was, just did it a few times and it worked. Could be 1 step you thought you did right, but didn't
I noticed also my throttle is naturally inverted. Why is this you think?

I have tried it and it’s nice being able to set macros. However I found myself binding all of my buttons in game and found no use for gremlin. I know others use it with no issues and it can be a bit buggy for some.
Trying to set up my f-14 grip and two of the axis have red link errors. How do I fix that? p3 slider and p4 dial.
You may need to reach out to the Virpil forums and customer service.
@@JGandT It turns out it was a bad connection with my extension. I talked to Virpil and they responded fast, and with great help. I would give them an A+.
Jon, thanks for posting this...I am having an issue where I set up the Constellation Alpha, no problem...I got the new Mongoose 3. When I try and calibrate the axis, the calibration axis fields are all greyed out--they appear locked...while yours appear unlocked...any ideas?...also, none of my buttons or switches will work on the throttle within MSFS...the Constellation Alpha grip works fine. Is there a "start over" button??...:)
Did you update firmware and create a profile?
@@JGandT yeah. I also got the control panel 2 and “slaved” that to the CM3. The buttons and switches wouldn’t bind and I’ve tried to start over a few times. Just sorta wanted to start over. But when I repeat your steps, the only throttle axis I can calibrate are the left, right throttles and the flaps. I can’t calibrate the others.
