Love the look of the rapids going over some of those water covered rocks. Like you said, it adds even more depth.
Very nice as always, becoming very tempted to by some of your boards.
Amazing, as usual. You are gifted, sir.
the fords look fantisc with the white rapids. Those new bulbs REALLY enhance the video color quality!
Brilliant work!
Love your work mate. It gives me inspiration working on my terrain. Thank you!
I'm really happy to hear I can inspire others. Thank you.
Wow - amazing effect. You are master my friend
The new bulbs are working great.
Love the rapids.
Fantastic work! Very impressive ;0)
I really enjoy watching your videos. They're fantastic! The way you deal with the natural vividness of rock and water is admirable.
Nevertheless- as nature goes, river water tends to slope from a tall place like a mountain, to the sea (along the watershed). In its course, the water erodes the mountain carrying rocks of all shapes and sizes from it, and scatters them all across the riverbanks and bed.
In this scenery bit, I'd like to see more tiny cast-aside rocks, for a more natural appearance.
you know... sometimes when I watch your videos I think to myself... "I need to step up my game."
:)
+foofighterubu That you for that. I really appreciate hearing that from you. I remember all those many years ago looking on ebay and seeing your work. It was a big motivator for me. But be careful. Don't descend in my lower level of compulsion. It can be it's own problem. *grin*
I'm getting that a lot lately LOL
I had a long skype with the terrainaholics Bill and Sue last night, He did a shout out for me and that was pretty encouraging. There are a lot of you guys who did clips like this that I would watch and find something to help solve a problem.
In the early days I would get a request for something I had never made before (this still happens) and I go looking for other attempts.
Talk to the customer about their vision. They might send a sketch or image of something that is like their idea in general shape and then I get started.
I know this community of artists is like every community of artists, appreciative of talent and ideas, and respectfully competitive.
We help and encourage and spur one another on and the result is really kewl stuff.
A lot of stuff you do I know how to do and do in my own way, but I like to watch your tutorials like a favorite cooking show.
:)
.
+foofighterubu I couldn't say it better myself. :)
Love it!
Nice
hi there
thanks for the information, do you have a instructional video for the rapids? i could not find one
I don't have a video showing it at the moment. I haven't had time to do tutorials, but it is one of my Patreon goals, and that goal has almost been reached... So perhaps I will start making some soon. ;)
should make the rocks look wet. The first thing I noticed was how dry they are
Jam Castles Fair enough. I did these almost 4 years ago, some improvements would be made now. But it's a good observation in general. :)
The rapid is too separated from the rest of the river, starts and ends too quickly OR you should have painted the rest of the river base darker to simulate deeper water where the rocks would not protrude as much or at all. Effects look great though !
Good observations. This was done quite a while ago of course. But excellent tips for the new viewers. Thanks for sharing! :)
