Here in 2024 and Mike you are still an inspiration and still missed. The hobby, though it has expanded and grown, it is still not the same without you and your artistic talent and the knowledge you provided. I’ve been going through your videos and reminiscing. Thank you and here’s to hoping just maybe you will say “hi” again to the community that you inspired.
The ultimate irony is that he averted alcohol most of his life; preferring smoking instead. This comes from his experience of his alcoholic father.
When I was a kid in the 80s and started building, all I had were Testors tubes for putty and glue. My dad finally got me a Testors liquid cement and it really opened my eyes to how bad the stringy glue is (it does have it's uses, sparingly). Glad to see the Testors is decent, it's just a pain with the stupid tubes. Would have liked to see the Tamiya putty too. My question, if you're still here after 8 years, is how to thin the Testors/solvent based putty?
does it count as a rogue idol?
Not 8 years in the future but glad I found your channel; great resource and thank you for maintaining the channel! Hope you are doing well in your new endeavors!
10:21 i work in resin/epoxy,to get waves you just use cellofan plastic, when it is semi dry use a big piece that covers all the epoxy. And when it “stick” to the surface, you can pull on the ends and get ripples or you can make soft undulations with a spoon
2024 and still referencing these videos. Still awesome 😎.
Almost all my paints are Vallejo, and pretty happy about that. But Vallejo Verdigris is the worst paint I have ever painted. It has a gelatine texture and there's no way to thin it properly. It never paints the way I like it to paint
Still very useful. I'm glad these videos are still up and available 😁
How does the all purpose foam coat handle details? Does it fill them in instead of highlighting them like the boost does?
Thank you for all the knowledge you share on your channel! Mel the Terrain Tutor still speaks highly about you.
I miss this guy
Still miss you, Mike
looks like they model the original shape using cheese, thickest roof slates ive ever seen, the stone floor needs grouting or you'd trip over
Doesn't answer questions or am i missing the answers
F metric!
Foam Factory has horrible customer service. They only gave it to you because it's cheap advertisement.
I do miss this channel and I do use it as an archive. Come back Mike !!!
You look like you do magic. You're loosing me real fast
Bump
I am still sad that you are gone😢
Is there a way to emboss such texture on semi- wet cement?
Well done, very real. Appreciate you and your content! Hope you're doin' well!! 😊
Hope you start making videos again, this just helped me tremendously on my model railroad layout trying to figure out a cost effective way to do a large river. Rock on! Thanks!
I come back from time to time
What a beautiful video. So sorry I missed it when it came out.
Used to watch your videos during the formative years of my hobby life - its been a long time, and rediscovering your channel really brought me back. I'll have to get caught up. Thank you for all you did, chief.
I'm using Testors putty now and it dries fast
Miss you Mike. Hope all is well
Miss you bra
11 years... and it still looks great!
What an artist we lost this day. I send nothing but love through time. I left the hobby for some years and looked forward to seeing you coming back. I will use many of your videos. All I can say is I hope you and your family are well. Blessings to you brother.
Hey man. I don't know if you still monitor comments here, but this video just crossed my mind and I rewatched it. My big brother got me back into wargaming during Christmas 2010 and in early 2011 I was researching Quickshade and found this video, and then watched all your other videos. It feels very nostalgic to me now, and very evocative of that year. My brother and I played a lot of Warhammer in 2011 and 2012. He passed away unexpectedly in that year and so my memories of getting back into the hobby around that time are very tied up with memories of him. Your videos were really great- very informative, calm and warmly conversational.
@15:10 ... still gets me. Was just back browsing the old videos and this was next in the playlist =/
Now I'm gonna look more into Procreate Putty. ^^
I bought the 12 inch version by mistake a few yrs ago and didn't know what I actually bought. I pulled it out today and feel like I've had a hidden gem in my studio!
Quitters never win.
Weird.. CZcams cropped video. You cant see the examples now.
I have to say, I learned more about working with foam and hot wire tools from you than I have watching at least 20 other videos! thanks I just bought the pro kit from Hotwire foam factory, and I have a small hot wire scroll saw I’m just getting into working with foam for some dioramas for model trains and World War II type stuff so again thanks a lot! I just noticed how long ago this was posted so apparently I’m a little late! Lol
Please somebody tell me the app he's using to design this
always nice, tuto would be a good thing for all i see in your videos and would love to see the real rock work made for and with goblin town if u could ask customer would be nice
Please note, that 6ft hose "wip" they sent you, is not a replacment of the 25ft hose. It attaches to the end of the 25ft hose, its lighter and easier to move around. the 25ft hose is needed to keep your machine as far away from the spaying as possible. So that you dont clog up your air filters.
I just watched your Project Finished video. I lost track of you a few years ago (sorry for that) and just now discovered that you had retired. Thanks for all the wonderful work and artistry you presented to us. I looked back at some of your work and you truly were a very fine artist and craftsman. I wish you well "from the future" and hope you find fulfillment in whatever else you do. Thanks for the inspiration and for keeping the channel watchable.
Thank you Mike.
Mike, I commissioned a board from you... easily the greatest piece of tabletop I will ever own. I just realized that you sort of retired after trying to find you again. Sad to see you have gone honestly...
well I just found this, says video is 3 years old so lasted at least 3 years beyond to bad you don't come back because so many interesting things
God I remember you made me some terrain when I was back in 6th or 7th grade... it's been nearly a decade.
Best video on this ever!
COME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!
Could one achieve something like this with the clear glossy modge podge?
