    Teslacam Stories is a series of Tesla owners' real experiences told by the Tesla Dashcam and Sentry Mode videos. All incidents are recorded from Tesla vehicles and submitted to this channel by other Tesla enthusiasts. I contact each person who sends me their videos to talk with them and learn more about their story and to follow up on what happened after what we see on their video. Voice-over and captions are added to describe what happened, and why. I believe that this additional information regarding the incident gives the videos a newsworthy value.
    From the footage and additional information, a viewer can learn the consequences of bad driving and can educate his/her self with better driving safety. This process also gives the videos a great educational value. Alan, even winter tires won't stop you from getting into a mess in these conditions. There's times you can use your 1000 BHP but this wasn't one of them. Instead of maintaining your speed and crossing over the central lines, try slowing down for the corners before you get there. I'm not sure I can also accept you didn't realise it was cold. Keep safe everyone, as this first clip demonstrates how easily non-fatal clips can turn into a fatality.

      So last month I was driving a rental 2024 Mercedes suv of some type, when it decided that I was going to crash into a car that had already crossed my bow while, I was stopped at a Stop sign in a shopping center parking lot. As the other car was completing the turn into the opposing traffic lane, I began to accelerate to about 4-7 mph when my brakes went full whoa, coming to an unexpected stop about half way thru the intersection. I thought that the transmission had locked up. A car behind me who was turning right jammed on his brakes to avoid me and he got hit from behind. We all said “Thank you Mercedes”.
      On the way back to the rental joint I also noticed that this latest Gen Mercedes accident avoidance detection system to be not near as good as the previous Gen system, especially the lane changing detection giving false conflict warnings.
      So I returned the car and found an air cooled 911 on Turo. It had no power steering, no power windows, Cold air conditioning capable of cooling the interior to 70° on an overcast 74° day. It also had something called a clutch pedal and a 5 speed shift it yourself transmission, a radio with knobs and push buttons, a Big Tachometer directly in front of the driver and some other gauges too. I rolled down the drivers window, rested my elbow on the widow sill ( try that in todays slipper mobile) and went began to drive back to my hotel but twice I missed my turn off as I was having too much fun. And it never once went whoa without my Input.

    Summer tires are exactly that! They are meant for when temps are above 50F. Even the tire specs say do NOT operate the vehicle below 40*F. Their grip is significantly reduced. And summer tires often have a temperature that is referred to as the Glass temperature. This is the temp at which the tire rubber essentially freezes solid. As you approach this the tires grip won’t just get reduced. It will disappear entirely.
    If you run a summer/winter tire set you should switch to winter set as soon as the temp regularly falls below 50*F.

    • @NancyD2
      @NancyD2 Před 3 měsíci

      You don’t know that I haven’t looked. I maintain speed appropriate for the roundabout. I am watching you very very closely because I don’t trust you. But I’m not going to stop as it isn’t a stop. If everyone would maintain speed, keep moving, and actually merge, roundabouts wouldn’t have any problems. Every time I leave home I have to use at least one roundabout, and have done so for 20 years. The problem is that there are too few roundabouts so everyone can be proficient.

      @NancyD2 If you think I'm being rude. I'm not trying to be rude every time I leave the house. I have to go through 2 to 3 roundabouts. When I say close cause I mean, I'm already in the roundabout. Close to being done with my turn and cars just zoom on through nearly hitting me and they don't seem to be maintaining a safe speed they're going pretty fast.
      Someone did that I was almost done with my turn. They zoomed on through. Looked like they were going around 55 way over the speed limit. I'm nearly hit them. I slammed on my brakes, resulting in someone nearly reared me. This could have caused a 3 car collision.
      And also you are supposed to slow down even stop if cars seem to be coming straight for you you have to wait ad see what they are going to do so you don't hit them
