Re 7:36 That license plate isn’t from any US state - it’s from Mexico, and specifically Baja. Going to be very difficult to determine if they’re insured at all.
Yup. He should file a claim with his own insurance and have them do it under underinsured/uninsured. Unfortunately he’ll be on the hook for the deductible, but it’ll be a comprehensive claim.
Yep, beat me to it. Mexico plate and SOL for the Tesla.
The plate of the crash in 7:36 is from Baja California Imported Car (Mexico) The car is uninsurance if you check it in AMIS (were you can check here in Mexico if the cars have insurance)
This was determined when this same segment was featured in a previous Wham Baam episode! Is Wham Baam running out of content and having to recycle past videos? 😳

12:56 Will made an illegal lane change during the turn. Don't be Will.
Besides the fact that he did have another option besides steering toward the curb. Cars have brakes, but many people would rather swerve than use them.
@@edentjeh exactly. Will made a illegal left turn but could have braked instead of trying to pass which then forced him to swerve into the curb. In saying that the other driver didn't check to see if the right lane was open to merge into and should share a bit of the blame, they could have also braked and waited for the lane to clear before merging.
New York requires you turn into the leftmost lane so I agree this was Will's fault. California has no such requirement. Goes to show you need to learn your local laws and play it safe when driving in unfamiliar territory.
Will made what we call a Transit turn. Legal for buses and semis not regular cars....

Naah, there was quite a bit of space until the next car on the right.
So the argument would probably go: He's lanehogging, thus forcing me to undertake, then he sped up out of sheer criminal entitlement (which happened in the video, you can see him going just a bit faster) to cut out the overtake attempt, then deliberate crashed into me while I was completing the overtake by merging back into my lane where I was, thus putting full liability on him since intentional crash overrides regular liability.
I've had that situation happen to me while overtaking and the guy who sped up to cut out my overtake paid for the lot. Though that was quite a bit more extreme with a guy speeding up from 25-30 all the way to 95+ in a 50 zone desperate to cut me out and murder me by pushing me into oncoming traffic.
Here though, I'd say while the cammer wasn't keeping right properly (took 7-8'ish seconds to reach the next car in total on top of already sitting left), it's still a long way from lanehogging to an extreme to which you could claim there was a full overtake available and cammer decided to close it off. It's probably where the other party's argument came from, but I don't see it working out here even if appealed in court.
You ussually need more space to argue there was a full undertake available to pass a lanehogger, and it not ending up sufficient is due to the lanehogger cutting you up. And even then courts have a nasty tendency to pick the side of the dangerous lanehogger and roadrager and argue you should've simply waited forever for them to never go right and the damages go 50/50.
It's a city/county street, not a high way. He probably had a left turn, this isn't lane hogging lol.

You must be new to how policing in the USA is done these days. He admitted to flashing his badge outside his jurisdiction, which most agency's have as a friable office. And yet it didn't happen. Lookup the institute for justice
Here in Topeka, Kansas when you are making a left hand turn you MUST turn into the inside lane (just as the first car did) then turn on your right turn blinker and merge into the outside lane. This means Will is in the wrong as he made his left turn into the outside lane instead of the inside lane. He will have to foot the bill for fixing his car himself.

7:37 The people who parked their Chevrolet HHR at Disneyland in Anaheim, California are from Mexico because if you look closely, you can see that the Chevrolet is registered in Mexico with Mexican license plates. But unfortunately, I don’t know what state the Mexican license plate is from.

13:22 i was always taught that you finish your turn in the lane it starts in. So if you turn left you have to finish in the left most lane (edit: and the Kia driver did it properly); right turn finishes in the right most lane. Either way you dont have your pick of which lane to get into whilst turning, and you still have to look before getting over
I agree. Unless otherwise directed to by traffic signs you finish a turn in the same lane that you started the turn in.
However, in this case both drivers are at fault 50/50. Every state has a minimum amount of time that a person must indicate/signal before changing lanes. Neither one of those drivers came close to meeting that signaling requirement.
@@rexrobo2512 then I wonder how should I handle my entrance to my apartment's parking lot? It's quite close to the intersection so I have to do a lane switch right after turning left. There's only 1 turning lane.
Most States allow a vehicle turning from a single turn lane to move directly to any lane that is available, The Kia moved directly to the left lane so when indicating must legally give way to the Tesla already in the right lane.
Will was driving aggressively, and no matter what the law is, you should assume people aren’t paying attention and that most think that after they turn on to a road they can do whatever they want lane wise for 1-200 feet, so you should probably hang back and let them figure out what lane they want to be in. Also, you should turn into the lane closest to you… just because the law allows you to be a lousy driver doesn’t make it okay.
@aexandereung5686 I totally sympathize with you. When I'm driving I'm constantly faced with that same type of driveway situation, and I constantly break the rules. When I do break the rules I'm hoping that any cop that sees me will understand why I did it, and not give me a ticket. I also know that claiming inconvenience will not get me out of the ticket if a cop should decide to give me one.
Knowing it's against the law to make that lane change causes me to be hyper aware of my surroundings so as to avoid an accident.
10:00 Notice how all the cars in front of Jonathan are in the right lane and going faster than him? I wonder if Jonathan thought to himself, I wonder why all the cars are in the right lane except me? Hmmm... here comes a car up from behind, I should stay in the left lane and make him pass on the right. Yes. That's the right thing to do.
He had a left turn coming up… Not his fault everyone else was speeding. I firmly believe in “pass left; drive right,” but on surface streets it’s not as clear-cut as on the highway. I am constantly tailgated on city streets and two-lane roads for having the audacity to only go 10 km/h (6mph) over the limit. Sorry bud! I don’t have money for tickets…
@@nkgagne In Europe you would be fined for this, In Brussels you would be stoned for this. I understand why FSD is not coming to Europe any time soon!

#4 Driving advice: when going through an intersection please let everything settle after exiting the intersection, meaning give a few beats position away from other driver's blind spots. Threading the needle and launching passing maneuvers so close after the turn does no favors to anyone.

13:30 youre actually free to turn into any lane if not prohibited,
If making a left turn, you are correct. Most states allow for drivers turning left to use any AVAILABLE lane. The problem always occurs when the driver turning left completes the turn and then moves right into an adjoining lane without checking to see if it's safe.

13:00 Both vehicles should have turned into the left-most lane and then merge over. This is a very common maneuver people do wrong all the time. But (at least in Texas) the left turn goes into the left-most lane when more than one lane exists. The KIA did it right, but failed to check mirrors. I'm betting the insurance is going to 50-50 this one.
I think the kia probably did check the lane, but due to how Will took the turn he was possibly in a blind spot for the kia
We used to have similar rule in Finland but now days u can turn left and go to the right if it has 2 lanes
Sounds to me like Texas has a bit of a weird situation and should just make 'keep right' a consistent rule instead.
Most states have a keep right rule, and all states have a do not pass on the right rule. Tesla was fully at fault there.

4:38 This is most likely a piece of ceramic that you can find on spark plugs. what the guy in belgium probably used was a broken sparkplug. it shatters even bmw windows easier than a shotput through a cyber truck window
I like how you say “even bmw” as if those fragile nightmares are the pinnacle of sturdiness and reliability. Good humor
Francois the object they used is a spark plug, which is hard enough and heavy enough to shatter the safety glass there. Best defence is to put in an anti shatter film on the glass, still will shatter, but now they are unable to gain access via the shattered window, as the film keeps the glass in one piece, like laminated glass.
Some would argue the best defense is to arrest criminals, but that's racist in today's Belgium.

Shops Insurance probably won't pay out either, it's out of their control.
Yes, it will. I worked at a few stores and they always paid out for cart damage.

That last one makes me think "are your light posts just some concrete tubes?" - I've seen a concrete lightpost hit in Germany by a semitruck. The lightpost had some concrete blown off, but the 2 layers of rebar kept it up. The semi had some serious damage to the cabin (passenger side) and had to be towed away. The lightpost was replaced a few days later.
In the usa if a pole is that close to the road it is often built with a breakaway feature to attempt to lessen the damages to the impacting vehicle. There are places that use cement poles. You can see there is rebar in this one.
@@CrazyRFGuy I've seen that later after re-watching. It just was my first thought with how easy it broke and fell...
Murcia. Home of the lowest bid contract.
There are two kinds of poles in the US. Won't move no matter how much force is applied. These are often in places where if the pole were to bend or break, the damage would be severe....like a large pole, a road with heavy traffic (pole falls across said traffic), the pole is also protecting something behind it. Then there are the breakaways. These are so the occupants of the vehicle aren't further injured. These would be on lesser roads, but also sometimes in high speed places, like highways, where someone, like a semi even, would hit the pole at 70 mph (or more). The best option there is for the pole to just disintegrate so the occupants of the vehicle survive.
All that being said.... shoddy work can be done anywhere.
@@NancyD2
This one looked more like they asked "Would you like a safe breakaway or a sturdy one that won't fall?" and the answer was "Yes".
Way too heavy to land safely, but it should never have snapped from this little force.
10:31 The quality of the camera is just top-notch like the colors and the detail honestly props to tesla for advancing their cameras on their cars.
I'm 77 years old. I say that because I've watched so many drivers in your videos like #1 who say they had no time to brake when someone turned in front of them. I had this happen to me last winter with a car suddenly changing lanes. I went back to review in my model X just to be sure. There is no doubt that the car that swerved in front of me did it not only as fast but also, I had less space before she did it. YET I avoided that car by literally standing on my brake pedal the instant I saw what was happening. In this video you can still see the left tail light of the pickup as it swerves left. which shows more room than I had with my event. Although this driver is not at fault he is too slow.
I was always taught to take the lane corresponding with the lane I'm turning with, I always thought you had right away to that lane, that being said, when take a single lane turning into two lanes, I think you should always take the lane closest to you, then change lanes.
Laws over rule your feels. Tesla did nothing wrong.

Wham Baam, don't get hit by a Honda man.
3 - Why would the store insurance be liable for damage done by a cart in a parking lot? It's not like they have any ability to control or prevent that kind of thing. I can understand if they just left the cart corral completely full so people *had* to leave their carts in the lot to roll around, but another customer being a jerkwad isn't the store's responsibility.
Its store property on store land that caused the damage. Their cart corral is of poor design and they did not make sure their customer put the cart away correctly. You go after the store, who then goes after he other customer. That is the order of liability.
#14 - Cars are turning left in front of the Kia. The first two make it, and the third starts to go, but then stops as they see the Kia coming in hot. Guaranteed the Kia was pissed that cars were turning in front of it, so they decided instead of slowing down, they would speed up, without any regard to what was happening 50 feet up the road LOL...
In Wills situation it’s probably 50/50, in most states its a law to make a left turn into the left lane then change to the right, its just not commonly followed, i admit I dont myself but usually i wait to see what the other car does before accelerating

I had an accident with a honda #honda bump
3:45 That "wuhaaa!... let's go" 🤣
Jason should take his footage to his local news and let them show who exactly is "Policing" their community along with the results of his report...
I’m sorry, but I missed the part where a Tesla was crushed by a pickup truck
Huh? Can someone explain this comment because I don’t understand it
@@HappiixEllaLook at the title of the video. It was also depicted in its thumbnail.
Literally the first clip m8.
@@HappiixElla It’s ok.
Its AI sadly (for the people who are confused)
Video 4 with Will. He would be the one at fault because you are supposed to turn into the inner lane until after turning then merge. Unless its a dual lane turn.
I agree that Will was at fault. I am not familiar with US rules, but undertaking at a junction is never a good idea. Earlier, he also failed to stop at the stop sign. Will is a very poor driver.
was thinking the same. that one is on him for not turning properly, though the Kia should have checked before changing lanes too, though I assume the driver did check when first turning out before the Will fellow got into the other lane
No, please learn the road laws.
Jason at 9:25 file a complaint with BOTH police departments. One for the bad sheriff, and one for the bad policing. Nothing can be done without the complaints on file. Nothing will probably still happen, but get those complaints in anyways!
HOLY LAND WHALE! 8:50 Does it know that the rides have weight limits?

on that second story. He tells about a common problem among ALL dash-cams. That the license plate was not (visible) enough. (THE PROJECT FARM) made a comparison of a bunch of aftermarket dash-cams to find the best. NONE of them had a "good" license-plate visibility. BUT, one of them had an artificial intelligence algorithm that enhanced the plate to a acceptable level. Tesla will most likely adopt this method. I am confused that Tesla was not leading the way on this logic.uh o, I just looked at his channel to link the review. And the test is gone. It was there, I watched it the day it was new. I guess it was not up to his liking and he took it down. I guess there were to many variables for a good comparison. But the point remains that an AI can make that shotty image better.
think when it's dark out, it becomes hard for these cameras to see much detail
@@TheGlovener1985 I can only speculate on that. BUT, I have to say, a big solid "NEGATIVE" on that thought. Have you "seen" how awesome a starlight camera is now. Even the stuff they let us "dolts" have. Is beyond excellent. I got my dad a set of "in the dark binoculars" a couple years past. They are (Infrared), true. BUT, they are also starlight. The "starlight" mode even shows color, in the dark. Infrared only has that ONE color to work with. And an Infrared emitter. So, that is not what we are talking about. "STARLIGHT" is absolutely more than enough light for a (1080) picture. Probably (4k), but these binoculars are (1080). SO { when it's dark out, it becomes hard for these cameras to see}. IF there was a place on this world where it was (DARK), that 'might' be true. Even tunnels have those lights every quarter mile. Or closer.
@@vangildermichael1767 "if there was a place where it's dark" . Plenty of roads are pitch black out. But i was saying even when street lights are on, these cameras don't seem to pick up much. Starlight cameras? Never heard of them, but they sound good
@@TheGlovener1985{Plenty of roads are pitch black out.}. If only that were true. Have you ever tried to look at the nigh sky (I mean stars, and planets, and other astronomy stuff.)(like if a comet is going to be close. So I wanna see). Even here in WV were I am. I need to go 15 miles away from the city. To see the night sky. What they say about light pollution and you can't see the night sky. It's true. I've been to a cave about 20 minuets out of the city. When I was back in there 5 minutes in. And turned my head lamp off. NOW, I know what "dark" is. And I have never found it "topside". I want to tell you to get a starlight amplifying scope. And see. But even my "good deal" (that I looked for a month for). Even it cost me $450. So that is to pricey for me to tell anybody to do. EXCEPT, maybe you have a friend who is into that sort of thing. And they will let you have a look see. oops, I'm considering you know people who are into "hunting". I forgot rural people like my own self. Are kinda, "not city people". Well, you got google (well, kinda). I tried to find you a "good" (all in one) article that would tell you everything I want to (in one nice little article). It don't exist. It's gonna take you several pages with one little bite on each one. To explain what I want to tell. Well, I showed you the "beginning" of the trail. At least you know there is "such a technology" now. So, cheerio. happy trails.
@@vangildermichael1767 cheers bucko
Another great vid, but I think you used that Steven @7:20 one before.
Second clip, if Tesla camera can't even read a number how is it ever going to drive itself.
I mean, to be fair, it pretty much can't. It kinda works some of the time, but never well enough for you to completely cede control to it.
the conditions there were poor for viewing the plate. Can you read the plate on the front of a car with its headlights on? and fsd would still know that the car was about to hit them with out needing to read the plate.
13:20 Shitty move on both drivers but even though you're allowed to take the outside lane you're not suppost to pass on the right just for this reason "blind spots".
Rubbish, there is no law that says you can't pass on the right. 🤦♀
