Teslacam Stories is a series of Tesla owners' real experiences told by the Tesla Dashcam and Sentry Mode videos. All incidents are recorded from Tesla vehicles and submitted to this channel by other Tesla enthusiasts. I contact each person who sends me their videos to talk with them and learn more about their story and to follow up on what happened after what we see on their video. Voice-over and captions are added to describe what happened, and why. I believe that this additional information regarding the incident gives the videos a newsworthy value.
From the footage and additional information, a viewer can learn the consequences of bad driving and can educate his/her self with better driving safety. This process also gives the videos a great educational value. It is my desire to add my own unique and creative value in a transformative way to ensure you enjoy and learn from the videos being presented.

How is it so many people can get away with no insurance in america, our cops have it flash up on there computer as soon as a car with no insurance passes.
Not all police cars are outfitted with plate cams. Depends on the department, but I don't see them too often.
Plus, they don't know who is driving. They may not be on the insurance policy (like letting a friend drive your car).
@@volvo09 I get that but over here if the car has no insurance it gets stopped, if a driver has no insurance then the person whom let him drive there car would get in trouble and the driver would be charged at the time with no insurance licence what ever and could go to jail even .
Depending on the state or local municipal government
@@volvo09 America is an absolute shitshow .
Greetings from Europe
Right it’s crazy to me how many people drive w no licenses & no insurance!!! My mom would ask me to drive to the store not even 5 minutes away & I refused everytime bc I was so scared, im still scared even though I have nothing to be scared/worry abt
As an european, it's unbelievable that there are so many uninsured drivers in the USA, waiting to smash into someone else car
There’s only 1 state (New Hampshire) that doesn’t require it, but they require you have sufficient funds of some sort. Every other state does, so it’s people being idiots and driving without it illegally, unfortunately.
You are totally right @Addict_FR
Love the ones where they were "blinded" by one thing or another...If you can't SEE, you don't GO. Had my previous car totalled because of that excuse..
After watching all these clips, the most amazing thing I learned was that BMWs have turn signals?!?!!?!?!??
Who would have thought!
Love the channel!
But, I've got to say that the number of un-insured/under-insured/unlicenced drivers on the roads is staggering and somewhat frightening.
You can thank liberals for that. They handcuffed the police and now everyone thinks the law doesn’t apply to them. You are the one to suffer.
@@JetFire9 Too true!
Uninsured/under insured should be arrested and the car confiscated until the driver provides recent insurance.
(Won't stop them from continuing to drive without insurance after the policy lapses.)
I say if they get caught 3 times without insurance, their driver's license is permanently revoked, their car confiscated and sold at auction, and the revenue contributed towards accidents cause by uninsured/under insured drivers.
@@delanorrosey4730 No argument from me. I think that's an excellent idea. 💯
I hate having to carry uninsured/under-insured coverage, but I know the streets are littered with deadbeat drivers that have no business being behind the wheel.
@@NoNonsense316 Last I knew, it was a $1,000 fine for driving without insurance. Although a criminal offense for doing a hit-and-run, I also would like to add an automatic $20,000 fine for doing so.
I also wouldn't be opposed to increase the fine to $50,000 when they cause an accident whole uninsured/under-insured and/or drivers/insurance companies reserving the right to seize an uninsured/under-insured driver's home, pension, wage garnishment/tax refund seizure to help pay for accidents they cause. Getting caught being $20k a pop and $70k from a crash should make them think twice.
(Especially when it was caused because they were looking at their phone when they know they weren't supposed to. Seems like quite a few accidents were attributed to that.
It also seems that quite a few pickups involved in these accidents are new and/or quite pricey. How is it they can afford a pricey pickup or a nice ride, yet not have money to insure for it?)
Forcing them to live in a homeless shelter while their home is seized, I think wouldn't be cruel and unusual punishment. They still get a place to live; it's just not the cozy home they're used to.
A lot of these punishments do seem steep / borderline excessive, but I do believe it is absolutely necessary as a deterrent. For every accident they cause and force everyone else to suffer while they refuse to take responsibility for drives up OUR costs as insured motorists.
How much are we to endure before driving becomes such an expensive proposition that such a necessity becomes unaffordable for many? How much in medical expenses/personal injuries/lost work time/wages and how many cars a responsible driver had to pay to replace with a cheaper/less equipped/used older model because they didn't get much money when their "pride and joy" was totaled in an accident because of an irresponsible careless uninsured/underinsured motorist that does a hit-and-run?
The only punishments they currently suffer is dealing with their damaged vehicles they have to fix on their own and keeping a low profile for awhile. If they get caught, it's only a $1,000 fine.
love how the driver in the first clip admitted fault instantly

Crazy!! I remember driving by all those boxes on I-90 west, just before Issaquah. People who weren't experts in driving on snow had no business driving on an inch of ice that week. It was the craziest storm I've seen in 30+ years; Trees were coated with a 1/2 inch of ice before dropping limbs and breaking all over North Bend.
When was this? I didn’t realize it was at north bend i thought it was in eastern WA for sure
Actually this WAS in eastern Washington near kittitas WA
These people saying "autopilot took over and saved my life" make me roll my eyes so hard.
1:42 How can an Uber and Lyft driver be uninsured??!
I was going to ask the same thing!!! I think they had insurance probably when they were first hired or lied using someone else’s info. Either way when you have a job specifically for driving you NEED to have insurance! I hope both companies fired them!
They get insurance just to get the papers, register with Uber and Lyft, then immediatly cancel the insurance.
Maybe they just didn't take the stickers off?
@@fredpuntdroad8701 as soon as that insurance is cancelled or you stop paying for it, you have 14 days to get it fixed or your account gets locked and the only thing youre allowed to do is send in proof of insurance. I know this because my sister couldnt afford her car insurance and for 2 months uber wouldn't let her work or cash out and she had to get a loan from our mom.
Exactly!!
Amy had more than enough time to slow down and stop safely.
Yea, that was not bad luck. That was a bad decision.
yet most people says "its legal to run yellow so it doesnt matter"
Icy road.
@@danielulz1640 no it wasnt... She didnt care to stop
Yeap, cause I know I would have
I think I may have done an Uber or Lyft ride with the lady in the Scion. I remember a similar car wirh the driver holding the phone in her hand at all times. When I asked her, why she didn’t have a phone mount, she claimed they don’t exist for this model Scion. She took a wrong freeway exit and generally drove in a pretty chaotic way. I gave her a one star rating, which I have NEVER done with any other driver. What a disaster!
Only time I ever had a taxi driver like that I just told him to stop the car right now and I'll get another, hopefully one that does hold a valid driving license. Within the timespan of 2 minutes he illegally used his phone, illegally overtook, ran a red light light and nearly wiped out a pedestrian on a zebra crossing.
....Bit of an argument actually as the taxi driver somehow expected to be paid despite his antics.
21:12 wait, why did you narrate “forty four HUNDRED US Dollars”, but the screen flashed 44,000????
It's not a bad idea to slow down and be aware when approaching a stop light in traffic. I've had a few close calls where traffic hit the brakes when the light turns yellow. Same goes for the highway. I've seen so many videos of crashes where people slam into traffic that has slowed down or stopped. Stay focused and assume that any driver could suddenly lose consciousness and they're unpredictable..

#16 Vadim needs to learn about the brake pedal
20:30 I feel so bad for the white mercedes. I had one of those and i love them so much. Lowered with polished wheels :(
It’s amazing how well cars safety features protect us from harm, I’ve been driving 50 years and some of my earlier cars made in the 60’s would have just crumbled in these crashes
I like to think drivers drove a little more cautiously knowing that they would pay dearly for reckless speeding when they need to be slowing down.
Yeah.
true but they also weren't going as fast yk
That's why i like the 80s they plow through anything even houses lol
Weren't 60's cars made of mostly real metal instead of plastics and alloys that easily tear apart and crumble in today's modern vehicles?
I've learned from these videos that if you're in a crash, just consider the car totalled.
I’ve learned that it’s dangerous to be at the front row at a stoplight, especially the first in the left turn lane.
Or to come to a hard stop.
Amy had enough distance to stop her Tesla… 😂😂
Don't be like Amy. Don't run red lights!
Amy is not smart for a smart car
I remember that pile up from another video. That guy's insurance is not going to cover much at all. That's going to be a big insurance claim after him. The sheer amount that the trucking companies have lost alone is massive v
People trying to lie about the other driver causing the crash should immediately get a fine.
It's OK to lie to the cops about who is at fault? I'm looking forward to when there is a decent multi-cam system you can put on regular automobiles (I can't afford $50,00000000 for a Tesla, no matter how much I may like it, and I couldn't afford the insurance, for when a rock chip cost $44,000000 to repair the paint).
Naah, first let them fill out the first out the full insurance claim and sign it. That is a legal statement.
Knowingly making a false legal statement with the intent of monetary gain, is fraud. Which isn't an infraction resulting in a ticket, but a criminal offense.
If people insist on digging a hole for themselves, respect their desire and only spring the dashcam footage on them later.
@@fredpuntdroad8701exactly! Don't say you have cameras till after they lie and dig their hole. They get in trouble and sometimes cops write tickets for it. I told my daughter this. I'm going to give her my Chrysler when i get me an suv and she's getting cameras. I swear the newer the car the more people try to hit it intentionally
How is it that Uber and other driving services allow their drivers to even be uninsured? That makes no sense!
First thing I thought of! I understand that a lot of people drive uninsured in US, but I would assume to be an Uber/Lyft driver, you would need to prove you are insured. This makes no sense.
The number 22 happened to me as well, but on the German autobahn while i was driving my Cayenne Turbo… That person immediately changed to the left lane clipping my Porsche sending into the barriers… nothing happened to me, but the car was a total loss, the damage was around 140k EUR
16:24 I still find it amazing that with the first milisecond flick of the turn signal, it's an instant right of way to turn in any manuever possibly imagined. One of the reasons why I installed extremely bright turn signals on my van to make sure people see me during the day and I always use the full flick on the signal stalk on my model 3 regardless if it just indicates 3 flashes.
God bless to the 1% who see this comment
WHAM BAAM Thank you for the videos.
I got my drivers license over 50 years ago.
At that time we were taught to be defensive drivers.
Whenever approaching an intersection, I still glance both ways even tho the light is green and going through intersections which have stop signs on both sides I still glance for my perfection. from the videos, it looks like people are no longer taught to be defensive drivers. But perhaps, with the videos you show, they can learn.
As for insurance. When it is a law, it should be observed. But when uninsured or underinsured drivers cause accidents, I think that the insurance company that covers the accident should have a right to sue that driver. Maybe then they will become responsible.
I heavily agree on the last part, Its almost normal for people to be driving without insurance because they know if the cause an accident they most likely wont face many repercussions. Its getting out of hand.
Most drivers now days are not defensive drivers like we grew up being. Hell my town I count to 5 before I go when light goes green. And oddly no one honks other than the young kids like 20 cars back.
Uninsured drivers usually have no assets . And it is not an offense that sends them to jail.
Okay old man.
Love your videos! Thanks for including the repair costs at the end that was a nice touch to this video!
11:02
I live in Maricopa and that highway has crashes at least 3 times a week. It doesn’t surprise me to see this on here. I love your videos!
It happened with me that I was driving on a highway in the right most lane, and from the ramp, there were cars merging into the highway. My eyes were consistently on those drivers. However, there was a car in the lane to my left side, and he decided to overtake my car as he wanted to move into my lane. I slowed down so as to let him move into my lane , and the driver from the merging lane saw this as opportunity and moved into my lane almost the same time as the car on my left side. In order to avoid accidents, the merging driver braked hard. Since I had already slowed down, I didn't end up rear ending him. If I were to behave like some of these submitters, it would have caused a 3 car accident.
Dude, no freakin way!! Clip #1 is in Temecula, Ca and I was actually there when I saw this crash happen. I’ll never thought I see it on Wham Baam Dashcam 😮

To be fair, if Amy didn't think she would be able to stop, she probably deserved that citation.
That is not a universal rule. In some places (like Michigan where clip #10 happened) you can be cited if you had enough time to stop safely after the light turned yellow, regardless of if the light was red when you entered the intersection
@@ttjamzt ,a unprotected left turn must yield to the right of way forward moving vehicles unless it has a exclusive left turn arrow or a delayed green in the opposite direction given turning vehicles a chance .....the Cruze gunned it while following another vehicle & risked it & lost ,any good traffic lawyer or even the video evidence will get the citation dismissed & tossed ,same goes with the insurance liability, it was a unprotected left hand turn ,unless the other vehicle can prove it had a left hand turn arrow signal
@@daewooparts The Cruze turning in front of the Tesla is irrelevant to whether the Tesla should have been cited for not stopping when it was safe to do so. Both drivers were correctly cited.
When you don't stop before a yellow light when able, typically in most law systems that legally counts as red light jumping. (much like Tjamzt explained)
Amy accelerated instead of even trying to stop and seemingly deliberately crashed into other traffic. RLJ ticket is a mercy: Amy could've been written up for reckless driving, deliberate crash, vehicular assault and some other more nasty potential charges.
I'd feel comfy defending it was an intentional crash in court.
9:56, i was actually there when i was driving by. The truck driver was speeding, and i immediately thought that the truck is going to run into the tesla. I was going to stop and help, but some 5 people stopped to help her. That’s the good thing about Spokane. Most people would stop to help.

How is it possible to drive for Uber or Lyft with no insurance? People who do not have insurance and cause an accident need to be held liable, sort of like a restitution payment the courts hand out. That way when their paychecks start getting deducted, they will learn to get insurance.

I don’t get how people could drive around without insurance. It’s not even that expensive. My wife (38) and I (41) have 4 cars. My daily is a 2019 Veloster N, my wife’s daily is a 2021 Elantra N (both with full coverage), then we also have a 2016 Smartcar fortwo (full coverage) and a 2007 Elantra (Liability). With all the cars we’re only paying $216/month and that’s with rental and road side assistance.
Many of the people who don't have insurance tend to be the same ones who don't have licenses.
Broke and irresponsible
Overpopulation
Yeah I still have insurance but many people aren't as rich as you with 4 cars.
I see your point, but have you ever tried to get insurance as a 18-25 year old man when you face the full brunt of the gender and age based discrimination against you?
Drove on my mother's policy for several years because it was just impossible to afford. Even 15 years (of inflation) and several accidents later my premiums are still lower than they would've been when I was 18. Gender-based discrimination was outlawed a couple years ago and that cut the discrimination-fee a bit.
But I just checked: Even today the premiums are more than double due to age-based discrimination:
18 year old: a whopping € 85 a month minimum
30 year old: 34 a month
42 year old: 35 a month
50 year old: 36 a month
83 year old: 36 a month despite statistically being an extreme hazard on the roads
That spring tried to get the MC.🤣
At 28:00 I had nailed the first one as I said $40,000 and the second I guessed at $20,000. But I am curious; I thought Euros were about a buck and a quarter ($1.25). You had #2's initial estimate at EUR 25,000, which isn't "a little less than $25,000," it's more like $31,000. Come on Wham Bam Teslacam, the Euro is not the Canadian Dollar!
The euro took a big hit with the Ukraine war and energy instability messing with Germany's economy.
It's going to cost over $35000 in damages to the guys car. The other telsla will be $65000 in that crash. I'm glad no one got hurt.
Lmao Tesla is a farce
Most of the people in these collisions lack the basic driving skills to have a driver's license.
The ones with no insurance should go to prison.
And the ones who lie to the police about fault should be charged with a felony.
Hey Wham Baam, nice video!
Was the damage for #6 $4,400 or $44,000. It says both at 21:07.
I just got there and had to have a second take on it was like, hol up wait a minute, something aint right 😅
I can agree that most accidents are others faults, but man. Number 22, for example. Even if you have autopilot engaged, you have to pay attention to the road and think about what others can do. They can make a mistake like you can sometimes. This could've been avoided if the Tesla driver did his job as a driver, read and interpret the traffic. Even if the white car is responsible for the collision, all drivers have to have all senses in the road while driving. This could've led to more severe consequences and I'd blame both drivers for it.
Even if you have the most advanced machine in the road, always stay observant and try to anticipate everything that could happen on the road. Better brake a little than total your car or, worse, end a life, even if they made a mistake.
11:27 there’s that damn spring I’ve been looking for 🥺
Idk why Bmw drivers doesn’t use turn signals. I had a bmw before I got an Infiniti. And the Bmw blinkers are some of the best. If you just want to change lane you barely touch the blinker and it will blink 3-5 seconds before going off by itself. If you want to turn it on to turn you push it fully up or down. But the blinker switch has 2 settings. One for lane changes and normal every day blinker. I loved it. When I wanted to change lanes barely tap it and it done all the work and even went off by itself.
Regarding the repair bill question: you can see on the cars door, that the frame is bend. I am suprised they didn't total it. I would go with 40 to 50k since it's Tesla
agreed
I'm just glad I get to experience the life of a tesla owner because I actually want to own a tesla in the near future
The repairs on Tesla is astronomical! That's crazy!
Not sure if Jordan from #7 is going to get that extra $3000 for the FSD. He didn't pay that price so it doesn't matter if Tesla raised it. And the insurance could also argue that if it did increase the value of the vehicle, then his premiums should have altered to reflect that.
You are correct, but apparently in the US, some states actually oblige crash victims to pay into Tesla's upselling scam.
i bet it the repair estimate is going to be about$ 22,650(USD)
#22 Good to see that Tesla driver's habit of sleeping behind the wheel with Autopilot on hasn't changed.

No surprise, there seems to be a very high correlation of uninsured and unlicensed drivers causing accidents.
15:50 I don't see how the Tesla driver could be cited for running a red light. For starters, it was clearly past the intersection threshold when the light turned red, and even if it was close, you can easily argue that the only reason you missed the yellow was because you started slowing down to avoid the first car that cut you off.
I truly hope they contest that split of responsibility.
After watching several of these videos what I am seeing is a lot of people,Tesla and others, not driving defensively at all. 99% I know everything going on around me while half watching CZcams and driving quicker than the pace of traffic. Slow driving and people being to relaxed seems to be causing a ton of accidents. In general when people are merging on the highway accelerate past them and never spend any time in someone’s blind spot.

You know watching WhamBaam, I am surprised any Tesla's are still on the road as many accidents that occur!
Just a little FYI. Some states mandate, uninsured/under insured to be on your insurance policies but other states such as California where I am at you have to ask for it. I worked in my family’s body shop for years and you would not believe the amount of people who try to sue their insurance company, because the repairs cost more than what their policy allows. If they simply had the uninsured/under insured, it would’ve kicked in and covered the rest of the repair. So check your insurance and make sure you have enough coverage and uninsured/under insured because the amount of people out there with the bare bones or no insurance is staggering
#18 makes me think that the red light runner is someone’s kid that is high up and has power that’s why they said they weren’t at fault even though they ran a red light
That’s first clip is in the city where I used to live! That’s awesome! I always love trying to guess places when you say it happened in California. =)
That's a big problem. Airbags are not meant to blow before an accident. That's a safety problem. And to the person saying that the brake was depressed, it should be depressed you were stopped. Are you sitting at stop lights and such with your foot off the brake?
#10, 15:10 , since Amy's light was still yellow, the chevy and the other car still should've had a red light, right?
When Heaths video was playing, when you said that the price was going to be 4400, but it said 44,000 on the screen😂😂😂!!!
Apple+Tesla=match made in heaven
>be me

I love how in 24, when the car rear-ended the Tesla, spun upside down. Meanwhile, the Tesla didn't seem to budge or went off the lane.
I believe the percentage of Americans without insurance comes to about 20%. One in five drivers are not insured and of those that are, I wonder how many are UNDER insured. They need to start cracking down on these people.
See the first clip is honesty and I’m happy that the ford was honest good for him 😊😊
*fun fact* u can only drive a car if u aren't distracted..
