      It's helping me as well! The only thing is I have heard some of the words differently from other interpreters. Also, how incredible is Columbian Spanish? It's very similar to Mexican Spanish. Great video!

      @@Robot007 its actually general practice to use the 'usted' conjugation when speaking to patients as a sign of respect, so rather than 'Tienes' the best way of asking would be to use 'tiene'

    I took Spanish for 7 years in HS, i am now 31 and work in the ER in a Predominately Spanish speaking town in NYC. I have found that my learned Spanish is Columbian Spanish. I can always understand Columbian dialect over all others.

    Very helpful. I'm training to become an EMT so I won't have access to an interpreter. I haven't spoken Spanish in several years, and I've never had to use medical terminology, so this video was great

    muchas gracias!, la leccion fue muy util! yo trabajo en urgencias y me mudo a Florida en junio. Necesito aprender Espanol! I have been taking lessons over skype for 2 years my teacher is in Panama but I have not learned much medical spanish. I lived in Florida several years ago and really wished i knew spanish at that time. when I was working in the emergency room in fort pierce I always had to find someone to help me. thank you for the great video!

    Love the video and your explanations of the words. I am a health care certified interpreter but have not interpreted in ab 2 years and have lost a lot of my fluidity. I work in the Psych field so the terminology is a whole other world. Wondering if your could recommend a show or something like gray’s anatomy in Spanish?

    Yes, it depends, if you conjugate the verb , you will say for example. I am vomiting: estoy vomitando or I cannot stop vomiting. If you use the verb as a name, for example. The vomiting smell bad. Los Vomitos huelen mal. Gracias Girl. i am preparing for my oral medical interpreter exam . I already passed the written .

      It depends on the use of the word. If you want to tell someone to seek healthcare, then you say “ busqué asistencia médica”. The literal translation is “cuidado de la salud.”

    Just learn standard Spanish. I would say don’t worry if you sound like south or central American, Mexican or from the Caribbean. I dont make such a big deal about accents as long as the pronunciation is correct.
