    I am doing intermittent fasting and twice a week omad with walk and gym regularly since 50 days, only lost 3.5 kgs. Indeed a slow metabolism. I am documenting my journey on youtube. Can you see my routine and tell what I am doing wrong?

    • @BrigitteNP
      @BrigitteNP Před dnem

      Sorry to hear you are not happy with your weight loss progress. There are several reasons why someone might not be losing weight despite efforts. These could include: • Caloric Intake vs. Expenditure: You may be consuming more calories than you realize, or your caloric expenditure might be lower than expected. This can happen if you underestimate portion sizes or don't account for all the calories in your diet. • Insufficient Physical Activity: Even if you're eating well, not getting enough physical activity can hinder weight loss. Exercise helps increase your calorie burn and can also help preserve muscle mass during weight loss. • Plateau Effect: After initial weight loss, your body may adjust to the new diet and exercise routine, causing your weight to stabilize. This is known as a weight loss plateau and is common as your body becomes more efficient with the reduced caloric intake. • Slow Metabolism: Factors like age, genetics, and muscle mass affect metabolism. A slower metabolism can make it more challenging to lose weight because you burn fewer calories at rest. • Stress: Chronic stress can lead to hormonal imbalances, such as increased cortisol levels, which can promote fat storage, particularly around the abdomen. • Sleep Deprivation: Lack of sleep can disrupt hormones that regulate hunger and appetite, leading to increased cravings and overeating. • Medical Conditions: Conditions like hypothyroidism, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), or insulin resistance can make it harder to lose weight. • Medications: Some medications, such as certain antidepressants, antipsychotics, or steroids, can lead to weight gain or make weight loss more difficult. • Not Eating Enough: Paradoxically, eating too little can also stall weight loss. If your body senses it's in a state of starvation, it may slow down metabolism and conserve energy, making weight loss harder. • Inaccurate Tracking: If you're not accurately tracking your food intake, exercise, or other habits, you may not be getting a clear picture of why you're not losing weight. • Too Much Processed Food: Even if you're within your calorie limit, consuming a diet high in processed foods can lead to poor nutrition and might interfere with weight loss due to high levels of sugar, unhealthy fats, and low fiber content. If you're struggling to lose weight, it might be helpful to consult with a healthcare provider or a nutritionist to identify any underlying issues and to tailor a plan that works best for you.

    My only question so far is the position of the heel of hand when giving cpr. Is it on tue nipple line not the xiphoid process?

    • @BrigitteNP
      @BrigitteNP Před dnem

      No, you should not place your hands on the xiphoid process when performing CPR. The xiphoid process is a small, pointed piece of cartilage at the lower end of the sternum (breastbone). Placing your hands on or near the xiphoid process can lead to serious injuries, such as: Fracturing the xiphoid process: This can cause it to detach and potentially puncture internal organs, such as the liver or diaphragm. Ineffective compressions: Hand placement on the xiphoid process doesn't effectively compress the heart, reducing the efficacy of CPR. Correct Hand Placement: For Adults and Children (above 1 year): Place the heel of your hand on the lower half of the sternum, but well above the xiphoid process. The hand should be centered on the chest, aligned with the sternum, and the other hand should be placed on top of the first. For Infants (under 1 year): Use two fingers just below the nipple line, on the center of the chest. Avoid pressing on the xiphoid process. Key Point: Always avoid placing your hands on the xiphoid process during CPR to prevent injury and ensure effective compressions.

    A month ago was when I discovered I had hypertension. My doctor initially prescribed me with Amlodipine. I took it for 2 days then stopped because I was having palpitation. I could hear my heartbeat too loud at night when I lay on bed. So I asked my doctor to change my medicine. She gave me Losartan instead, but then I researched it and found a lot of side effects. I got scared, didn't even pick it up from the pharmacy. I asked if she can prescribed me with hydrochlorothiazide, and she did. I took thiazide for 2 weeks, but then my BP went down too low 94/64, and I had breathing difficulty. During the time that I was taking thiazide, I also started to cut down on food and eat healthy. I cut down on a lot such as red meat, dairy products, butter and margarine, white bread salt and sugar. It was the hardest thing to do, especially the no-salt diet. It felt like eating but not really eating. It was depressing at first, but I thought, a little sacrifice is better than being dependent on medication for life. I used to eat 2 eggs a day now I cut it down to 1 a day and I only cook it in olive oil. I really follow very strict healthy diet. Lots of veggies, fruits and avocados everyday. Even my daily drinking water has squeezed lemon in it. Then I found out about celtic salt. So I can eat with salt now (yay!)but just a little sprinkle. I'm not a vegetarian, as I still eat chicken (not deep fried) and fish. I'm just not eating beef, pork, lamb, anything greasy, high cholesterol and sodium. I learned to read labels when doing grocery shopping. I also keep monitoring my BP 5 times a day and record it in my notebook and so far (thank God) I'm doing great without medication. Besides eating healthy, I'm also taking magnesium supplement at night before bed and feels a lot better in the morning. Anyhow, aside from my BP went down too low, some of the side effects I had were: I would pee few times in the morning, but it didn't seem like all was coming out, I also experienced not sleeping well at night. I was hyperactive, I lost 8 lbs. in just 2 weeks. I had itchy skin and some tingling sensation on my foot and thumb but it was not consistent. So I absolutely believe that what heals our body is not really the medication, but the healthy food intake. It's a big sacrifice to let go of the things that we are used to, but if we really want to do it, we can.

If they truly do mean that much to you, putting a reminder in your phone or thowing some sticky notes on your door or mirror would be a pretty easy thing to do.

      If possible, speak with a professional such as a nutritionist. Anorexia nervosa requires a comprehensive treatment approach involving medical, nutritional, and psychological support to ensure recovery and prevent relapse.

      @@BrigitteNP I'm aware of this. I do not want to engage with these professionals, they have never helped me. I have tried all recovery options, been in hospital many times and done a recovery from home.

    Lately the forgetfulness has been worse for me and it’s driving me insane. I’ve had issues with keeping friendships and relationships over the years feeling like it’s hard to be a good friend, sister, etc. I’ve always loved school and learning but always wonder why i get distracted easily. Im definitely disorganized and ill clean but get frustrated when its a mess again in a couple of days

    I relate to the majority of the symptoms you said and it fits me as well. My family didnt believe in these kinds of disorders when I was a kid so it went under the radar. Im just now getting screened and treated for ADHD
