I have a 21 xt touring, found it in Feb 21, took a while as well, 8000 miles later has been a great vehicle,. Have taken two long roadtrips in bad Oregon weather, was perfectly balanced. Awesome Car for sure.
I bought my 21 touring XT in November and immediately swapped the wheels and tires for Falken AT Trails. Took it straight into the snowy mountains and it was a beast. Perfect car
You nailed an underserved vehicle review, everyone's so focused on the wilderness but some of us really want the top of the line...and with the CX-50 just out, this is the video I needed to hear some thoughts on as I cross shop!
Just got my Onyx XT a couple of weeks ago. Love it. Definitely took some time to come in; put a deposit down in December; finally got here on February 5th. Definitely love the Napa brown leather in the touring but the Onyx suits me fine. Just a great car.
Saw one similar to this but had a single wheel carrier plus a thule box. The simplicity and beauty was outstanding. The rims were stock but tires were for some slight off-road grip.
Great video. Beautiful car. It is as enormously capable as it is cool looking. The 2.4 L turbo is just awesome. Have fun with it. Jayhawk or Wildcat out there in the middle of Kansas? You live in a great place to find a long lonely road and let that 2.4 turbo do its thing. Thank you for the video. RHenry, M.D. (Outback Onyx XT owner)
Thanks for watching! Yes it is! So many nice features to the vehicle! The turbo is so subtle and it’s very quiet! Neither, actually! Sun devil! Haha. Lots of open road! Nice meeting you!
I got the '21 Outback Limited in same color. I opted not for the Touring due to the extra chrome and non-XT because I didn't like the power train of the XT. Was considering an Onyx but again the extra power wasn't smooth so the extra cash seemed not worth it. I do like the leather in your car though! I got mine right before chip shortage so was $2400 under sticker and 0% for 5 years. Crazy how manufacturers have taken advantage of the public during a difficult time. You've done great things with your vehicle. Hope you are still enjoying it!
Hey Peter! Thanks for chiming in! I love the color of our car! So beautiful! I’m glad you’re enjoying yours! I still love mine so much! Such a comfortable ride!

They are awesome care! I actually was never fond of them until I met my wife. She had a 2015 out ack limited and it grew on me. Sold that and got this 22’ Outback touring XT. Absolutely love it
I bought this exact trim / color combo March 2021. 15,000 trouble free miles so far. Super versatile , very well equipped , comfortable and plenty of power with the turbo engine. I use the voice controls for the air conditioning and love the adaptive cruise control and the safety systems. Ventilated front seats were a must for desert living as is the STARLINK remote start to cool the vehicle on super hot days .. downsides are the CVT ‘which I am used to and use “‘manual” for maximum response, the occasional freeze and resetting of the infotainment . so far very impressed
Love it! Thanks for your review! Forgot you Can voice controls! So cool! The only annoying thing is when you’re driving and you’re slowing down to avoid colliding with the car in front of you and it will auto stop. Sounds like the car is going to break!

hi man. thanks review. outback is really good. I'm thinking to get this one. can you show the underneath like suspension and subframe. wondering how is subframe stretched to the front. it should reach till front end so that hold the engine and transmission. I'm looking for that car.
Did you get it from Subaru of Lawrence? I was putting an order for a Limited in Cinnamon Brown, but ended up getting a killer deal on an incoming Touring ($1800 below MSRP) because they were not making that color anymore. Can’t wait for it to come on!
@@Loubar87 apparently stopped the majority of production in that color back in December 2021. Could have gotten the one of the few left in transit due to arrive at dealerships in May. That green is very nice too!
@@Loubar87 Did you pay MSRP or did they add market adjustment? I'm in Wichita and trying to figure out what direction to go because our dealership is pushing a market adj on me if I order or buy off the lot.
I am looking at Outbacks but the reason I am not going to get the touring xt is the seats. I know other people really like it but I am not a fan of the Brown leather. It is weird to me that the top trim has no options for other colors.
As you ask if it's worth the price, my answer is no. I am happy with the Premium trim. After some tuning it is still some $12,000 less than the Touring XT. The only trim above Premium that catches my eyes is the Wilderness. The Outback is the best compact crossover IMO, however I see no sense in paying more than $35K for a Subaru. Just my opinion as an Outback owner. czcams.com/video/LpOi-Jj5V8U/video.html
If you wanted all black, why didn't you get the Onyx? Or the Wilderness? I have a 2020 Touring XT and all the silver trim is one of my favorite features, I love it. Dude, you go on and on about how you don't like the silver and think it's ugly and want everything to be black - you bought the wrong car. And the silver is gorgeous, not ugly at all. I wouldn't have bought my Touring if all the trim was black like on an Onyx.
We got the touring XT because of the nappa brown leather interior. It’s easier to black out the exterior with wrap than it is to replace the interior seats and dash.
@@Loubar87 the Napa leather is very nice, I agree. but all that silver trim is a feature on the Touring. And Subaru has more rugged, blacked out options for those so inclined. Hating on my pretty Touring isn't necessary.
Personally I'm waiting on the 23MY. Hoping Subaru will put the SPT CVT in the 2023 XT.... only time will tell. Eyesight X will be much less obtrusive on the 2023 and much safer with the Lidar.
