    This year we've taken an extensive look at the Subaru Outback, but this time we're going to see if the Touring XT is the perfect crossover for you.
    Huge thank you to Subaru of Wakefield for letting me stop by to film and test drive the new Subaru Outback Touring XT!

      2019 was the last year you can get Subaru Outback with the 3.6R engine in 2020 this new 2.4 liter Turbo engine replaced the 3.6R. Because it has more horsepower and gets better gas mileage the EPA is really pushing everyone to get rid of V6's and V8's. 🤦😞

    You got to ask yourself one very very important question? Why do so many Subaru owners keep on buying Subaru's? I've had three of them I currently own a 2018 Subaru outback touring, I love that they're not overly complicated and the way they drive in the reliability factor. Sure there are things that Subaru does to improve the model but it doesn't need much tweaking tiny little things here or there and talk about hold their value buy one and you will be hooked guaranteed

    It'll be more awesome, if the front and rear cameras, has a record feature, as well. Including, a sentry component, as the Tesla models.

  • @BarikSingh
    @BarikSingh Před 3 lety +3

    Is the only difference between the 2020 and 2021 Subaru Outback Touring XTs the rear seat reminder function/passenger seat belt notification? Or since that is a software feature, is that now on the 2020s as well with a software/firmware update?

    • @BostonAutoBlog
      @BostonAutoBlog  Před 3 lety +1

      The two differences from last year is the rear seat reminder and steering responsive headlights coming standard. I'd have to do some digging on if you can get a software update for the 2020 model year for that rear seat reminder.

    • @BarikSingh

      Boston Auto Blog If you could check on that rear seat reminder via a software update and get back to me it would be much appreciated. Definitely in the market for a new Outback and would like to know whether to go for a 2020 or 2021 thanks

    I'm hearing the 2022 subaru forester will have a mid cycle upgrade . Do you think they'll add wireless carplay, wirless phone charging and nappa leather?

    • @BostonAutoBlog
      @BostonAutoBlog  Před 3 lety +2

      I think the likelihood of wireless CarPlay is high based off what we’re seeing industry-wide. I think they could integrate a wireless phone charging pad as well. Not sure if we’ll see nappa leather, but I fully expect the StarTex water resistant fabric to be offered for 2022 with the sport trim

      Onyx is the more rugged version. Touring, as the name might indicate, is the highest level of luxury in the line up.

      No, the second X more is basically Xmode with traction control turned off. I've been through sloppy ice/snow and never even enacted X mode at all. second X mode is mostly hype. As for rugged. They are the 99% the same cars. Onyx just looks more rugged. Onyx lacks most of the upgrades you get past the Premium model ( Look at the brochure)

    Is the automatic emergency rear braking standard on all of the 2021 Outback models now? Or do I have to go above a premium level option.

    • @justinsmith1831

    Almost bought this car premiere xt but free testing the infotainment system I had to cancel the deal. Although it has an 11.6 inch display, the system is laggy and it doesn’t take the full screen when backing up. Also, if you’re an android user, the screen space is very small and uses only 40%. Those are the reasons why i went somewhere else .

    You said no major changes after the minor face lift that Subaru made last year??? Dude it was a total model overhaul in 2020??????

    • @BostonAutoBlog
      @BostonAutoBlog  Před 3 lety

      Strictly talking about the exterior not much changed from the 5th - 6th generation except for a facelift and more aggressive plastic cladding. Not even the dimensions changed that much. Even by switching over to Subaru’s global platform, all the changes were internal and for the interior. To call it a complete overhaul is a big stretch.

      My family has a 2017, and they can be turned off. I am curious if they fixed the EyeSight bug from the 2019 Crosstrek where the car would suddenly start rolling if it came to a full stop. The 2017 will come to a complete stop while still in it's semi-autonomous mode, then start back up when the vehicle in front of it starts driving again.
