A custom OS is usually an Optimised version of Windows with minimal background Processes, Reduced latency and will help improve FPS and performance on Minecraft. However what if I told you that there was already an OS out there that wasn't custom built by someone but available from Microsoft themselves? Today I show you this hidden OS - Windows 10 LTSC
If you are always looking for a good OS like I am then I think making it yourself might be the best option but before working out how to do that I've been running LTSC on my daily PC for years now - even when I knew nothing about computers and it hasn't let me down once!
As always you are welcome to experiment with these operating systems on another drive or partition but MAKE SURE TO BACKUP YOUR DATA as installing any of these will wipe your drive!

Hey @notrodan, you know when you bring up the FPS window in Minecraft, it actually decrases your FPS, so I'd recomend for the job, MSI Afterburner which shows on your game
fraps also works perfect just for fps counter. afterburner/rtss you only need if you want to see temps/usages and stuff

Just fyi, you are not able to activate the evaluation versions of the isos. You would need a LTSC iso that is no evaluation.
You can enable dark mode with Chirs's tools next time.

I would remove defender from the ltsc iso using ntlite, also the iso provided is an evaluation so its only a temporary version

Hey, the video is nice, i have started watching you recently, at 11:00 you said you need minecraft from the ms store for it to be updated that's not actually true, you could just use the official minecraft launcher for windows 7 instead of the ms store and it will still work on Windows 10

Any help with removing the watermark? I tried to changing the start value to 4 not working
I prefer the LTSC and Test mode watermark to the Home and Pro one as it is less intrusive.

Does it actually work? Cuz last time I installed atlasos from your video it did not work, it performed worst than normal windows. (I think it's because of the C++ installed on it) and based on your task manager showed high end specs so idk.
How could it possibly be performing worse? You might not have installed drivers. Drivers can make a real difference when it comes to speed, especially for graphics cards and storage.
Even with the store and the xbox app and dependencies, it still runs miles ahead of the standard home and pro versions. I know it is a bit tidious, but i've never had any blue screens since i started to use it! It's a good version, and they should bring windows 11 to LTSC, only then i will upgrade!

You could still get the legacy launcher, it's still supported.
I heard the LTSC ISOs from the Microsoft website can't be activated. They are only for evaluation

@@mindless6096 yeah you need to get the non evaluation iso
If you want to avoid signing into Microsoft. during installation, choose work or school, then choose other sign in options and choose to join a domain. Then you have the choice to just make your profile. Don't put in a password as you will be updating several times with numerous reboots during windows setup and configurations.

I recommend it too but if u are dependent on ms store apps like me i dont because ms store in windows 10 LTSC is buggy and app icons have issues and dont appear and if u have separate users it is even worse
Hi Notro! Just a suggestion! You have made some insane videos on many operating systems but installing one isn't ideal for everyone (including me). Can you also make videos about enhancing performance on stock Windows 10/11? Like, system settings, mods, minecraft settings, external programs etc. Thanks!

@@gostekz Yeah, but the problem with me is that I share my pc (I'm not the only one using it) so I just can't install a different OS as the different people using it would yell at me.
@@mimycx Hmm i think you could make a new user for the people that you share the pc. (If you haven't already) I think that windows wont save the optimizations for the other user. I'm not sure tho.

Hey there I'm having an issue I have the same version of Windows and like every I don't know 30 minutes maybe or 40 it's a constant It keeps just shutting down It says shutting down and just shuts down and randomly all the time I don't know why
you need the ltsc non evaluation
You can't activate evaluation version
Just upgrade to full version then licensing will be no pain

This isn't Atlas OS. This is an official version of Windows designed for lower-end or specialized computers.

ff: i dont personally use edge but statistically its the fastest browser out there right now with faster load times and download speeds compared to browsers like chrome and not too long ago edge also switched to chromium which means it supports all chrome features

Hey Notro after I installed this version on windows 10 my laptop started to randomly shut down on its self, if you know what's happening please let me know it would help alot.

LTSC has grace period just like windows 7 where after 30 day grace period is over it would shut down after every 1 hour i had this problem too activation fixed it

This is a very good os! However if u download It from the microsoft site like i did u will have the windows 10 entreprise LTSC evaluation so if u have installed evaluation u wont be able to activate ur windows so heres what i did i just upgarded the evaluation to the full version!
You can bypass the evaluation. I did it following some videos on yt couple months ago. Works perfectly fine. If you don't bypass evaluation after 90 computer stops working. It is a very good OS and Microsoft knows it. Not for everyone

It does not shut down when I'm on any other operating system
The ISO is an evaluation version. It's more like a lite version. I suggest to use Pre-Activated ISOs.

It makes me wonder if you could remove all of the Microsoft garbage on Windows LTSC with a Playbook. I figured out that you can modify a Playbook so that it will run on a Windows version it doesn't support. I installed Atlas OS on Windows 11 even though it isn't supported.

@@dexgaming6394 ya i know was just wondering, btw i hate the fact that the playbook is pass protected which makes it a little concerning to use, although the pass is shared somehow...
@@gamerking64 I think all the Playbooks have the same password is because it's under the same project called Windows AME. I also heard that they're password protected so that antiviruses or your web browser can't see the files inside and delete them because it thinks they're malicious.

the best version of Windows is Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 because, in fact it is like Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021, but its end of life is Jan 13, 2032

2019 is still good just a little dated

i don't think your ebay pc is deserving to be called low end anymore and i think that you should retry some of the best os that you think on more lower end system than this like 4 gb ram

@@arlokkkkry limiting your fps because it lower your graphic card life time as it make ut heat up alot i would recommand adding +20 fps on your monitor hrz (if you have 144 hz monitor limit your fps to 164)so you can get the best experience and a stable temp for your gpu

Windows 7 doesn't have an LTSC version, if that's what you mean.
If you're having trouble downloading Windows 10 LTSC from Windows 7, can you elaborate on the issue? What error message do you get?

@@senpai7355 Ah. Reinstalling Windows should NOT erase your data unless you choose to wipe the drive. When you go to reinstall Windows, use the largest partition. Do NOT click delete, or you will lose your data. It will keep your data in the Windows.old folder on the C:\ drive.

Hey, the LTSC download from Microsoft is the EVALUATION (aka demo) version - its for businesses when they to decide if they want to buy it or not. EVAL CANNOT BE ACTIVATED.

AFAIK it's due to the version being in evaluation. You can upgrade it to the full edition if you just look up tutorials on CZcams /google
Alternatively, you can use the Pre-Activated ISOs.

@@dimademochkin3028 For now, I recommend the LTSB 2016 if you have an Intel i3 2nd Gen. or LTSB 2018 if you have an AMD Ryzen 3. You can activate these OSes using CMD, which you can find a lot of on the internet.
