Baker was never good in the ring, and for whatever reason, she has never been able to take head kicks properly. And if I am not mistaken, this is not the first time she has had some type of head/brain-related injury. Baker is a promo and would have been better served as a valet/manager; physically, she is just not there. This angle with her and Mone is more of Tony Khan's instant ramen noodle booking with little heat and nothing behind it.
Overall Baker is a great talents who’s had a great career . If she is having the kind of health issues she talked about , it’s time to take a role behind the scenes, stay healthy and stay alive .
That segment was horrible. Britt sounded way too monotone, almost like she was bored being there. Sasha over does the gestures, doesnt come off as natural.
Britt had a rehearsed promo that she needed to get through that did not once stop to acknowledge audience participation .. lol

I don’t understand how a person who is healthy and athletic has a stroke, but I’m rooting for her, and that was an awesome promo she gave!

There are many things that could've caused her mini stroke. Sometimes people don't pay attention to symptoms or believe that once a symptom goes away for a bit that they are ok. And sometimes people don't have symptoms. For example, she could've had a blood clot. Some symptoms of blood clot are not severe or they can mimic things that she normally would feel being a pro wrestler.
Also, she could've had damaged or narrowing of her arteries. This may cause spikes or a rise in bp. I don't know how often she gets her bp checked. But, if she doesn't get it done regularly she wouldn't notice.
Finally, she could've had an irregular heartbeat that could've caused blood pooling or lack of blood flow to her brain. Most people don't notice irregular heartbeats unless it is an extreme case. Also, it may not have been a regular thing for her to have if she had an irregular heartbeat. Those are just a few things that may have caused her mini stroke. Even though she may have been considered as being healthy
@@bootneyfarnsworth2844 I really appreciate you elaborating, seriously. It is honestly something that scares me sometimes because I have high bp. I’m 42, but have a pretty active job. I don’t always eat as healthy as I should, but working on it. When you see someone like Britt or any athlete have a stroke(or in her case, a mini-stroke) you think, oh crap!! , if an athlete can have something like that happen, I definitely could. Some can have a mini stroke in many ways like not resting their body enough and from other parts of your body being damaged and not knowing it I had one at 21 and was in perfect shape it made me rest my body more and get more check ups
My biggest problem with the Britt / Mercedes segment was how they both called each other b****, and Mercedes even put her hand in Britt's face and pushed her away, and then...NOTHING. They didn't get in a fight. How does that happen??? If you are an alpha female pro wrestler, and somebody calls you the b word on national TV, and pie faces you with her hand, and you don't even fight back???
Here's how I would have booked it: Shorter segment. When Mercedes pie faced her and called her a b****, I would have had Britt do a Lou Thesz press on her, get on top and rain down punches on her, then set her up for the lockjaw, and then have Mercedes barely escape under the bottom rope and stagger up the ramp while looking back at the ring. Then I'd have Britt hold up both of her belts, and the fans would go wild over it.
Then, next week, I'd have Britt Baker wrestling somebody (anybody that's not a big name), and right about the time Britt is about to win, have Mercedes come down to the ring and beat the crap out of her or at the very least cost her the match against a lesser opponent, maybe by distracting her, and then her opponent rolls her up for a quick, cheap victory. Then Mercedes has got her back and now Britt is furious.
I'd have them go back and forth with this - doing something to spite each other - every single week, leading up to their match at the next PPV. Now that's how you build HEAT! I hope somebody in AEW booking is reading this.

Could be that she isnt 100% cleared or that they are going a bit old school and building things up by keeping them a bit away (physically) from each other.

A single mini-stroke would NOT stop me from wrestling unless multiple doctors (not advise but) told me to retire. I don't even like Britt Baker but this clearly is her passion. It needs to take a little more before deciding to walk away forever.
Another thing is it's not like she went straight into the ring after that. She got treatment and still hasn't had a match yet

Im not usually much for long promos but this one felt relevant for Britt.
Several weeks ago, I caught a little bit of AEW Collision. I'll never forget hearing Cesaro say that AEW is the place where you don't need to do segments or promos to "make it." Britt's promo skills still haven't improved.

Agricultural poisons, but mostly increased air pollution. This has seen the rates steadily grown over the past 60 years. Air quality in big cities is like smoking a pack of cigarettes a day. We now have people spending their whole life smoking a pack a day. Smokers generally start at late teens and get problems 30 years later. Thus non-smoking 30 year olds are getting strokes and whatnot at 30. The rates are lower in smaller/rural areas.
I disagree with Dutch. I thought it was a great segment. Yes, it started out slow and you can tell Baker was nervous but she settled in nicely. She was upfront and honest with everyone and then AEW segued nicely into the Mercedes Mone segment. The two had a confrontation and it started a new storyline... something critics complain AEW doesn't have.
They are just jelous becaue Mone is making more money than they do 😂😂😂

Not my place to tell anyone how to live their life and what does or does not constitute too much risk, but I would be uncomfortable booking her, or anyone with equivalent medical history. I like wrestling but I do not think it is worth dying for.

a tia isn't a full on stroke. i had several last year due to kidney issues, and then had surgeries and now i feel like a whole new person. i've never felt as good as i do now. don't discount the miracles of modern medicine.

Regarding TK withholding injury information, there is something called HIPPA, which basically doesn't allow for medical info to be divulged unless the patient signs a release.

Long talking segments suggest insecurity to me. They know they have to fill time but they don't trust the match segments because many of the workers are novices, beginners, or intermediate talents at best and they aren't savvy enough yet to work comfortably and confidently on TV. Talking can be controlled. It can go on and on and on and on. Doesn't have to make sense. Doesn't have to be witty. Just get us to the commercial. It's amazing that anyone finds it entertaining enough to stay through a segment much less come back week after week. That's a dedicate quarter million there.
The most ironic thing about this whole thing is that Britt Baker and Mercedes are not liked by so many people because they both played the politics. That’s why they win more than they lose.

Aew's roster do not know basics/fundamentals. A lot of the people in this roster have only ever had the matches we've seen them have on tv. Like people that were "self trained" before were working 300+ times a year with people who were trained, and they were teaching them. Here nobody has training so all they know is how to hurt somebody
