The fact it says "you have not been charged" when you cancel even though you have absolutely been charged should be criminal.
because it is
Factos
I mean... it is criminal
He hasn't gone into the menu cash & balance so he actually wasn't charged. I hate them as much as the next person, though let's try to stay factual.
But he was? and he said he was? What do you mean "factual"?@@fraizie6815
So they set up a scam, got mad they got exposed, and then lied to try and make it seem like they weren't scammers, instead of just ending the scam. Sneaky.
Probably even threaten with lawsuit unless they correct things like 6 months isn't new (well it is) etc....
I do not understand why they do it , that company has ATM's all over Europe at the most touristy places - they got to make a bank from transactions alone so why the shady tactics ?
They don't create product they provide service and just imagine how much they would make if they had reputation for the best ATM's all over Europe.
@@doposud $$$Yeah, I wonder why a bank would do that$$$
@@doposud Every business decision just comes down to how much profit it will make. The era of trustworthy business is all but gone today, at least for large companies. And the reason comes down to, if you aren't being cutthroat, your competitor is. They're always testing the boundaries of what clients will or won't put up with. And over time, the window of what is tolerated slowly slides and what used to be a "never" becomes the new normal. Combine that with the fact that these large companies have massive legal teams, and can easily absorb the cost of lawsuits, do silent settlements out of court, etc.
That's how scammers operate, they always tell the victim they aren't scammers and the good guys are
Sounds like something tRump would do!
Ah yes, the classic business strategy of "gaslight instead of correcting the issue."
Great reporting!
and then after years pay a 100 million dollars in court, but you scammed people for 10 billions. And even if you killed people in the process. Big pharma *caugh*

Agreed. Going out into the field, testing, researching, talking to people, and meeting people. Pundits taking information from other people and putting their opinion on it is not journalism and too many CZcams pundits think they are journalists.
hopefully they don't end up like those fellows with boeing
This may be your most expensive video ever based on the number of transaction fees alone. Great job as always. You guys rock.

Yeah, just think about how many kebabs they could have bought instead!
When the scale of your "scam" is big enough, it becomes a "business"
There're two more levels above that - government and religion
Give this man a job in government!
@@anandsharma7430agreed
basicly apple
@@anandsharma7430 Nah, a government is more like a group of toddlers trying to agree upon what to spend their allowance on while trying to make you follow their rules.
Any government based business tho, definitely an upgrade of a business scam. They charge you 5$ for administration for pretty much anything, while their YEARLY administration costs are maybe 150$. They charge you 15$ to remake your ID if you are late, when they can literally print them out at no cost (the budget for those buildings are 100% from taxpayments, that includes any cards or documents, so anything you pay there is "profit" for the government). I could increase the list a lot more.
Thats not to say that its wrong tho, because running a country costs a lot of money, and with politicians accepting money from the richest people to allow them to not pay taxes/avoid taxes by "temporary donating" their 3 million dollar art piece to a different museum each year, they have to resort to some form of money gathering.
The funniest shit tho? That people who are paid directly by the government, still have to do their taxes. Like, literally THE instance who can automatically pay your taxes according to all proper files without needing to have a special department doing that for you, for literally no extra cost (the IRS literally does your taxes for you, but for some reason, you still have to do your taxes).
And not even kidding, because government businesses make a profit, they have to pay a tax, even though 100% of their income go to the same source anyway.
When you first said "I apologise", I thought they'd intimidated you and you were backtracking. I love that not only you aren't backtracking, you're providing even more details! 👏👏👏
I apologies, let me tell you how much we glossed over that makes the situation worse for the other side.... love it...
"We're very sorry we got caught, but we have no plans to change it."
Sorry by the inconvenience, but yeah we're still charging you for it. 😂
"Oh, we lied? You know what, you're right. It's actually worse." Y'all are amazing.
"we are testing the system" means "we are trying to see if people won't notice enough so we can get away with more money than the legal fee we would maybe have to pay if maybe we get caught"
So, the 2 steps forwards + 1 step back approach
This is the corporate meta everywhere once revenue crosses a certain threshold.@@Skyline_NTR
That's exactly what I was thinking. They are testing it, it's just that they aren't testing "the system" they are testing if people would realize what the system do.
I actually can completely believe they are incompetent enough to have a bug like this and let it make it to the production version of the product.
@@DevinDTV its not a bug, its an intentional scam
You're doing real work here that more youtubers and "influencers" should be doing with all their influence. We all need to work together to expose and discuss all these normalized big business scams and problems with our society, because we are society and if we don't all that will happen is the corporatization and domination of absolutely everything in the world will get worse and worse. Sadly, the internet as it is now being controlled can be massively censored and swayed by those who run it all who are creaming billions in profits from people and often not even paying their taxes back into society. This rapidly increasing small number of bizarrely privately wealthy multi-billionaires owning everything, including our governments to large degrees, is getting out of hand.
Thanking your great work folks. Admirable!! Way to go 🎉
It takes a wise man to recognize his mistakes.
A wiser man turns those "mistakes" into a chance to publicly lampoon companies ripping people off.
They almost certainly threatened legal action
It would be interesting if people started putting gum, superglue, and other substances in the machines to render them useless. Like, if I was someone who thought honesty and justice was important and also wanted people in Prague and around Europe to have a better experience and not be robbed by a sketchy company originally founded in Budapest in 1994 (PEAK SKETCH) I might do something like this. Of course, this is all hypothetical.

That is incorrect. It isn't like walking into a store, picking up an item, looking at it, putting it back and still have to pay for it. It's more like walking into the store, asking the cashier if they have X item in stock, not get an answer, and then having to pay for asking the question.
Or like going to a hospital, waiting in the waiting room for over an hour, and then leaving and then getting charged....
@@ingiford175 well it works like that for decades as you pay taxes which goes on hospitals 😂

In UX design we call this "dark patterns", meaning tricking the user into doing something that goes against their own interest. Its unethical and the legality (in this case) remains to be seen.
didn't know it had a name! Very cool
This is actually a robbery - they actually take away money from you for nothing.
That's true and it also goes a bit beyond a dark pattern into the aforementioned scam territory where you get charged for something you don't actually get.
@@diogocambrianit's a massive problem in videogames too, and it's not always obvious too. Most of the time it's incredibly small. Like defaulting the curser to go over "buy now" instead of "cancel" or not default to anything.

"You need to stop defaming us - because 1. we're not the only crook out there doing this scam, and 2. We've done it for 6 months already, so it's not new!" Wow, great defense coming from an obviously extraordinary company.
3. despite it being productive for 6 months, we never tested the cancel button

Same thing in Croatia. I have talked numerous times with tourists which were furious about insane exchange rates on these atm-s which are scattered all across our most popular tourist destinations. It is damaging our tourism but no one is doing anything. Great work.
gotta bring the money in. Never ATM.
Why? If you have an account with multiple currencies and can withdraw directly the local currency then it's not an issue. People need to understand the basics before travelling. Carrying cash on them (or leaving in a hotel room) is also risky.@@snared_
Guess whos benefit from it :)
It's the same method everywhere. They give Banks an offer that is cheaper than their own ATM costs of upkeep. The effect is that banks are closing their own ATMs and only the scam one's are there. Often a bank has an option of free withdrawal from them up to certain amount, but only in higher plans.
Until banks get a critique about it that will financially hurt them or EU will make this illegal, then nothing will change.
