The fact the local government refuse to act upon this makes me think they're turning a blind eye and taking a cut, they should be investigated.
These scammers don't make enough money to also bribe every single official that could get involved. Our local government just doesn't give a shit about what happens to tourists and cannot be bothered to do anything about it because that would mean they would have to work.
My exact thoughts
No quite the opposite, a lot of the scammers are Roma gypsies and Czech police and the population in general do not want them here, but they are bound by law, and human rights. And even the ones who are permanently expelled from Czech, will just illegally return.
@@AdderOSRS So can't the people vote to update the law? It seems to me it should also be a human right to not be victim to a crime.
@@PaulFromCHGO haha nice one, the people that are stupid enough to get scammed this way will figure a different way to get scammed. Like come on, you're exchanging money for a currency you've never seen with a person that randomly approached you. Moreover this isn't ghana or haiti, where there might exist an unofficial exchange market. This is like comming to the uk and expecting people on the street to have a better margin.
Leading the scammer to the police station and making him ring the bell is such a badass move, though. 😂
He is lucky they aren’t víolent, try that with some others and he’d get stabbed (like BłackAxè, if you don’t know who they are look them up).
But what happened... nothing.
I was laughing so hard 😂
@@4ndy123And nothing but a slap on the wrist, and gramps is back on the streets again!
You forgot the pub 😀😀
As a Romanian I thank you for catching and reporting these low scum, I can’t call them people. Also, your editing skills are sick :) well done
Salutari de la Praga la Romania!

@@matotuHELL
So many Romanian wronguns’
Here in England & many other countries.
It’s difficult to tar everyone with same brush, but sometimes mud sticks.
@@DMWBN3 tell me about it mate. I hate the scums more than you do believe me. Unfortunately it’s nothing we, the rest, can do about it. They don’t want to work, study, or do anything good with their lives
@@DMWBN3that's why they go "visiting" the foreign countries. But it's a huge mistake to paint a whole nation with the same color as the bad guys.
Hiring 5 security guards means they pay salary for them. Not hiring them means the government gets to fine the scammers for free when you bring them in.
Damn, that seems correct, and means if he stops reporting them, the government might act.
@@SaudBako they’ll still focus on pampering pigeons.
Thousand of scammed people means less tourists, so less money.
They usually do not fine them as the czech law in this manner is pretty toothless.
There was only one case where they actualy did something and that was when the scammer actualy stole some money from people hands who did not want to exchange money with him. This one person got deported and he did not came back
Tourists are punished and the criminals goes free. It´s crazy..
Prague really does have a reputation for cheating tourists. Czechs cheat each other too, according to what I hear. And one company had to issue plastic utensils in their employee lunch cafeteria because all the stainless utensils, such as forks, spoons, disappeared within a month. The joke was that every home now has a complete set of stainless tableware.
True! Its always the indians or middle easterns who commit these acts too
Don't be stupid is the solution
Boomer logic
The cops are LITERALLY more interested in waiting in spots to write tickets for electric scooters not being used in the right location. They're not much different than the scammers in a way. They're more interested in this kind of enforcement of violating some code than stopping actual criminal activity in their city, it's shameful but on par with their overall professionalism.
We come to prague every year from Wales, thanks to your videos we not only get cheap meals and drinks , but also we do not get scammed , keep up the great work .
LETS GOOOOOO!!!!
Wow what a life drinking🤢
Prague isn t cheap anymore.
@@wernerleinberger9847it is compared to the uk 😂
I'm guessing the money is fake. But what does he mean by "EXPIRED money"?
This man is doing the Lord's work. I wish there was someone like you in every major European city.
Yes, people like him and the anti-pick pocket patrols
Especially in Italy, if people don’t fight back, Italy will be lost in the not too distant future.
And in American Cities too !
Its wonderful you do this and its really appreciated. I know many people probably dont realise the favours you are doing them if they visit Prague.
Oh man, just run for the mayor already!
Best idea. With money from us to fund his campaign, he can't lose. Win for tourists, win for the citizens of Prague.
But he is the Spider-Man. Spider-Man isn’t Mayor 😊
Or be a Town Cartel and Dominate this town if the local police don't even care.
But Green Arrow was a Mayor. You just have to believe yourself.@@wernerleinberger9847
Your relationship with the scammers is kinda humanistic. I like it.
Maybe they can change? I have my doubts.
they can't change 😂 they are wild animals
they'll only stop when they are dead
As a Romanian, I can say that they will never change.
For real tho, the intro made me feel kinda bad for the scammer, someway. He looks so defeated, you know. You don't really know what put him in this situation, why he has to do it. It's stupid I think it boils down to the fact he looks like my father 😅
they are gipsys they got it in their blood
It’s crazy how I’ve seen this channel evolve from showing a very cool bridge to being a scam beating legend who inspires others to do the same. You’re making Prague a better place
Bro, please never stop making these videos. They’re great!
Local government is 1 of 2 things. 1) Completely inept and incapable of governing effectively or 2) Getting money from scammers directly in order to turn a blind eye. It's really that simple.
The First is correct. Even simple things here take years thanks to the bureaucracy.
No the police are getting cash standing in money spots like the scammers and collecting cash from tourists just like the scammers, except in the from of entrapment using electric scooters and city codes. They don't care about actual crime infestation like is being outlined here
Both. But the driving factor is 1. The 400 eur fine isnt an actual goal.
I am curious, how would you stop this?
Enact law that targets this specifically. Make it not worth the risk (in both profit and discomfort). That's how we create civil control through law on all other things to shape a well behaved society. Ignore any crime and it will, of course, flourish@@mrkv4k
Dude- hold your head high with praise. You are a righteous person. Thank you, on behalf of all decent people.
Extremely well-said!!
you are correct because most of the tourists today are from middle class. the rich tourists do not walk in the streets
awesome video, please never stop this. its so great to see people that help others
Dude, you’re truly the man! Excellent work, please keep it up!!! 👍🏼😁
Thank you for making Prague safe and teaching us❤
Must feel so secure to live in a place where you can mess with criminals and don't get a bullet in your face.
Thats because it's not overrun by muslim immigrants and north african clans, like Germany, France and Sweden. Yet.
Wimp. 😂
It does. It's all cool here.
But it's also different when you mess with these petty thieves than messing with mafia bosses. I would be a bit more concerned in that case. But still, it' no "Palermo" here.
Yeah he definitely shouldn’t try this with everyone, like BłackAxe, it wouldn’t end well for him… With that said, if people don’t take a stand, many places in Europe will be lost in the not too distant future.

it's nice to see how they're slowly becoming friendly because they know they don't stand a chance against you so they just give up. I think it becomes a kind of a love-hate relationship for them.
I really have to say though that you cannot imagine how bad and ashamed i feel that people in western Europe think of guys like these when they think of Romania (i mean i can't really blame them). I wish you would travel to Romania to show it from a different light (for example to the cities of Sibiu, Brasov, Iasi, NOT Bucharest) and to show your audience that the real Romanians are kind and really cool and not a bunch of scammers. But that is not your job, that is the job of our authorities, to which they very much fail at.
First guy is from romania
You really shouldn't care about what western europeans think. They're all jerks anyway.
@@bocupaul7227 they're all from romania
I think a lot of people are aware of the difference between Romanians and Romany gypsy scammers.
I visited Brasov during a ski holiday, a beautiful city , and nice people.
I think they're also friendly because they realise that they will never be punished...
The way you grab him by the shirt front out of nowhere and just "ah, did he take your money? Get it back. It's a scam" as you pin this man against the wall. Like as a tourist I'd be befuddled as hell watching that go down. I mean I wouldn't be dumb enough to do that anyway, I exchange money in the airport or at banks, so I wouldn't be in that position. But still. Watching this happen right in front of me would be wild.
Love this !!!!!
Please keep educating the public 🙏🏼
I love this guy. Need more people like him.
Yea we need more rats in this world. Enough said.
Amazing work from the honest guardians of Prague. We were lucky enough to meet you last week. Such a genuine and truly honest guy. Love your videos.
You deserve recognition from the mayor
This might be the most hilarious video you made so far! Although the scamming is sad, but sometimes we just want to laugh about it as well!
They need to continue to confront and embarrass scammers in public like this, it's hilarious to see them squirm when they get exposed for their slimy behaviour.
I love this channel. Looking forward to go to Prague and avoid some scams.
interesting how considering the content of this channel, these videos make people want to visit CZ rather than wanting to stay away from it! :D
Just don't change money with scammers. :) It looks like they are everywhere in Czech republic but reality is different. I agree it is sad story we cannot remove them but it is not reason to be afraid visit Prague.
I've been to Prague twice because of this channel. I haven't met any money scammers yet, but I actually want to, just to tell them "No thanks, I don't want your Belarusian Rubles."
@@donutdude1934 I goe scammed in one of the yellow stores. "All" the people of Prag need to do, is put of daily warnings at bus stops, train stations aso - "impossible" to not notice. "WARNING - FOR A SAFE VISIT, PLEASE BE WARE OF XXXXXXXXXX - THANK YOU. WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN." If I had even heard of the scammers, I would have thought about it, but it happening in "official looking" stores was beond my belief. I will bet BIG MONEY, that some in power get their shares..
Of course, where else would you find charming and exotic people like these scammers are? Overprized taxis, exchange offices, restaurants, mini-markets and money scammers? Well, that's a charming Prague for you. Discover rest of Czech republic instead. It will be certainly less crowdy,, cheaper and more interesting.

it's common sense but HOW DO YOU GIVE YOUR MONEY TO A STRANGER ON THE STREET WHO APPROACHES YOU AND OFFERS YOU TO EXCHANGE IT, HOW???
Iknow right😂
Because you need to change money somewhere, and it seems convenient … He might be offering a better exchange rate, too. But, yeah, even if it wouldn't happen to you or me, there are always some tourists that fall for it.

More Scammer videos, let's go!
I discovered this channel from watching scammer/scam expose videos and I'm so glad I did. Overall I prefer when HG does videos on this stuff but that's just me, their content overall is super enjoable.
I love you and your good actions to keep the integrity of your city against scammers.

Great job you guys for getting these scammers and making it more honest and safer in the city for tourists. I can't wait to be back in Prague next year in end of March for 8 weeks. 😂 Gotha, Florida
I was in Prague last week. It's not just happening in the city centre. I was getting a ticket at the machine at Nádraží Holešovice metro, a guy came over and offered to help with the ticket (we didn't need help), then afterwards asked us if we wanted to change any money. It wasn't Czech money he had in his hands!
Hehe, that scene with the "living museum of communism", that was hilarious. 🤣
Keep busting them, Janek and Honza! Great work! I would also like to add that on my last trip to Prague (June, 2023), I paid for everything entirely with my Dutch bank card. I didn't have to change money even once.

Great episode guys!!! 😊
Dude you’re a hero. Thank you for your work!
Man you just have become from information tour guide to saviour, I just love your channel man.
You'd think that the local officials would want to curb this type of scamming activity as it reflects negatively on them and may result in tourists deciding to avoid Prague. Or, it could be that they pay them to simply look the other way.
Prague is so overturisted (if that is even word) that if some turists avoid Prague, it will not be bad...
The Czech police are getting cash standing in money spots like the scammers and collecting cash from tourists just like the scammers, except in the from of entrapment using electric scooter locations and city codes. They don't care about actual crime infestation like is being highlighted here
Thank you for your work !
My trip in August, I spent a week in Prague and traversed the city center about a half dozen times and was disappointed not to see these guys. I guys the Honest Guides are doing a great job.
I'm afraid laws in Europe wouldn't let you act this way. It's almost like criminals have more rights here.
They let you act this way. Citizens arrest is legal in every European country, even in shit holes like Germany
Sadly assault laws are very loose
Well bad News, this is in the EU 😅
Atleast in norway: unless you are caught in an act that can give 6 months in prison, i dont think you are allowed to do a citizens arrest
You are essentially stealing their freedom, and you as a citizen is not up for you to decide. Plus it can create altrications, like they can become violent, that are just not worth it.
@@Glendragon I have to disagree in that I believe citizen's arrests can be useful, albeit dangerous to the untrained.
I have made citizen's arrests and actually caught a rapist and a few pick-pockets. The Police cannot be everywhere and it is up to all of us to help keep order and our streets safe. But arrests will not help if the laws allow the criminals to keep going free in order to keep doing crime over and over again.
urgh lord. These are the situations when I am truly ashamed to be Romanian.

My main interrogation at every new episode of this series is who tf still changes money when traveling to a western country in 2023 instead of paying everything by card or directly withdrawing the local currency from an ATM ?
The atms have scams of their own in Czech. Like sure you can avoid the extra pay but it is so easy to accidentally do it. This channel has video (or few?) about it.

dumb question : why not pay someone to exchange a lot of money with a scammer so it becomes a crime (you made a video about how much to go from not much to something serious) ? Would the scammer not take the bait?
they are not stupid, they would not risk it and also if this would be a bait it would be consider to be an illegal evidence I think
