- This is the first part of a Colt Lighting restoration. In this video, I'm going to disassemble the whole Colt to the last screw. As this restoration going to take several weeks I decided to split it into more parts so you don't have to wait another month or two until I finish it!
Hopefully, the final result is going to be looking straight out of the factory!
Stay tuned for more and hit the like button if you want me to continue.
we missed you where have you been for 8 months🙌🏻
A quarantine is the perfect time to do a restoration ;)
Keep doing what you're doing!

Cheers from Brazil Andre! I got the chance to know your channel during your "hiatus". CZcams recommend me your channel while watching a restoration from "my mechanics" channel. Good to know you still upload :). Your work is just awesome! Thanks for sharing with us. I'm just delighted with this restoration. I'm going to watch part 2 right now.

Salve, salve from Brasil.
Love it! So glad to see you're back posting vids again.
Andre ,
Unfortunately CZcams limits us to the number of thumbs up we can give at any one time. I have two up and seeing if l can borrow a few other hands . My background involves small arms repair and hobby gunsmithing , so l truly appreciate your gun repair and restoration of these older fire arms. For your viewers that may not know , the last lightning left the Colt factory in 1904 , making this rifle a minimum of 116 years old .
phew am i glad you decided to keep the original patina
Thanks for another awesome video. Cheers!
I'm anxious to see what's coming.🤞
I bet you have a really cool collection of restorations. I'd love to see a video tour of just what you've done.📽

Me: [shows video to 10-old daughter]
Daughter: "Is that celo tape historically accurate for XIX century?"
Me: "That's so much NOT the question here..."
That's one smart 10 year old ! Question everything on the web . You're raising her right .
@@richardpalmer6196 dude, you seem to be somewhat missing the point here, too... :-D
:-D

Colt lightning model 1895 is the model , they’re great 👍🏻.
Welcome back.

Haven't watched yet, but good to see you back! I was getting worried. I randomly thought about you a couple of weeks ago, and was wondering how your farm was doing. Hope everything's going well with you and the family.

Andre Will Do It Good idea! Thanks.

Oh hell Yeah!!!
Finally dude...
A long time dead gun Smith I knew when I was a youth used to file and oil stone a screwdriver to fit every screw head.
Приятно посмотреть,классно делаете, с хорошим подходом,видно что любите оружие,удачи вам!
Thank´s
That poor gun has seen some serious abuse, it's good to see it getting restored
O retorno... que bom.
Hi, thank you for showing your skills. I am starting the process and found a faulty trigger spring blade that has been broken and repaired before. Do you know where can I buy a new one ?
Merci
خوش شغل بس الصوت ناصي
👍👍👍
Glad you're back!
But... How will we know it's all done properly if we don't get checkins from your QMs? ;)
that poor poor rifle.. i am happy it ended up in your hands..... poor rifle..
Eyy man, good to hear from you! Felt like forever, was a bit worried already. I really hope you won't vanish right away anytime soon :D
Are you and the other fellows allright?
Andre, before you go any further with this, i very strongly suggest you go and binge watch all of C&Rsenal's/Mark Novak's Anvil episodes. he shows how to properly conserve a gun like this.
NO wire wheels
NO evaporust
That's cool now I'm a new sub here and I'm curious is to how you replace the broken pieces of the gun order it from a dealer or do you have to mill it from scratch there
Golly. That is a lot of parts.
happy to see you back.
this lightning need a better...
lighting ! this video is too dark.
what about the rescued horse and cat ?
omg you is back??
More please
Is it 44-40?
I miss the vids
🇨🇴👍🏻
What did u study at university to do all these amazing things ?
😁❤🔥👍
Wouldn't hurt to know caliber up front?
12:55 what's this machine????
I have one without the slide stock I'd like to find someone to restore for me.
You move parts around too fast when showing each.
For someone who knows nothing about guns I was wondering if this an example of why gun cleaning is so important?
@@MastersOfCraftOfficial 🤔🤔🤔🤣🤣🤣😏😏😏
Apparently no audio
Is this video muted?
This is a speedy gunsmith😂
What would the world be like without WD40🤔
enfermedades
anybody making a copy of this these days? I'd love to have one that I could just shoot and not have to worry about it.
@@MastersOfCraftOfficial are they of a reasonable quality? There are many repops of various weapons on the market that really aren't up to snuff.
would gun jesus approve?
In the future working on firearms don't use wd40, use a gun oil like Rem oil or any other brand name of gun oil
WD40 is just as good as Rem Oil, if not better because it lubricates & removes moisture. Get off your high horse.
