- Here is another part of a restoration of this beautiful piece from the 19th century!
Please trust me with this one it's going to look awesome at the end!
(I really do hope so)
You don’t need to apologize to anyone for what you’re doing. I’m sure the spirits of the original Colt designers are smiling down on you!
I am not sure if anyone else feels this way but watching these types of videos no talking only sound of work it soothes my anxiety
Andre, never give this up. Your craftsmen skills are brilliant and unmatched by many.
I was the 1000th like. I love restorations. So much fun.
Nice job! I look for those old worn out or neglected Winchesters and Marlins to do a similar refinish job like you have done. The goal is to give me a nice looking original example and hopefully gives the firearm another 100 years of life. Thank you!
So glad nobody's giving you crap about removing patina! You are saving this piece of history!
Love the old gun videos
This is going to be so awesome! It’s great seeing these old timers brought back to life. Your work is is fantastic!! Thank you for sharing!
Nice to see part 2 already. Cheers!
I basically saved an 1861 musket from the crusher. It had been stripped, painted and sporterized. It was possibly the worst candidate for any kind of restoration you ever seen. Guys on forums were howling that I was destroying the guns true history. ( A history I might add that was basically going to destroy it for good. ) I took the gun down to the finish. I spent months aquiring all the correct parts for the gun from antique gun dealers all over the country. I did hrs of research on period correct finishing techniques for both the wood and the metal parts. When I was done I had a very good sympathetic restoration or a very old firearm that will make it presentable for generations to come. The best part? It fires! It fires good shot groups at 50 yards! Not great, but good! Keep at it. Stay true to the gun. Can't wait to see it when it's done!
Thank you very much for sharing your labor of love. As far as the file sometimes we don't have a choice but use them to actually get the proper work done. Looking forward to the next video. You and your family, furry friends included have a safe and blessed week.
Excellent work mate removing that much rust is hard work, I do similar jobs restoring old air rifles here in the UK. Its very satisfying to see the end result
Yesssss... you are here again!! ❤❤
Oh, I was thinking these were gonna be like a week apart. Glad to be surprised!
..WOW!! ..part 2 already, lookin' good...
Always amazing how re assembly is done , I wouldn't remember where it all goes....
I love that you're restoring this. Lever actions are awesome!
I can't believe how dirty the wood was wow. You are truly a artist Andre :D
What a great job. Always amazed.
Thankyou so much for posting these..... I missed your work...
Wonderful project. Great vid. Good to see you back.
Looking good already!
it's been far too long, very glad to see you back. looking forward to part 3.
Thanks for sharing the conclusion of this. Cheers!
hope hey don't demonetize this one. you didn't even operate the first one, just took it apart. youtube is screwed up right now
It isn't about screwing up, CZcams is evil and practicing censorship, it shouldn't be up to CZcams to decide who gets monetized, it should be up to the viewer.
I can see it starting to come around. Looking forward to the next video on it.
That was quick
So far...So good👍
I empathize. I spent countless hours sanding old lacquer from a guitar. Now I have come to a cup of water and 1200 to prepare it for primer coating.
New subscriber. Really admire your talent.
Nice! You think that the few hours between is because of saved up fotage? No! He is just that fast. This video wasn't sped up at all. 😂 love it man!!
Nice job!
finally u r back 😭😭
Fantastic video. You should have tried evaporust and 000 steel wool to remove less material maybe but still it looks great! Nice job. Can't wait for next weeks video. 👏💪👍
Looking good. I don't think the serial number will need recutting. At this point it still looks legible. As old as this lightning is , it'll be amazing if you can get it back 90% let alone factory new . If anyone can it will be you .
Здравствуйте ❗ И Вам Огромное Спасибо!За Видео!
You should make an account on Full30 or similar of these restorations in action.
Nice work! Just acquired one of these today all the way over in New Zealand! What did you use to clean the wood with?
Have you used a sand blaster or wire brush on a bench grinder or do you just prefer doing it by hand? Great work!
Good good good
Curious, why the acetone bath on the stock?
if you boil old guns it will convert rust to blueing. but you need to buff off the orange rust powder with 0000 steel wool or a carting wheel
CZcams just randomly polled me to ask me why I liked this video (had me choose from a selection of reasons like "informative, calming, useful, exciting etc). Wonder if it was/is on the verge of being demonitized.
Currently working on a winchester model 1906 that is in about the same condition. Should have made a video. Lol
Wow. There is actually wood under there, thought it was just black.
Two vids in less than two days... What is this Christmas!
What grit paper when you were sanding the stock?
@@MastersOfCraftOfficial thank you for answering I admire your work
What caliber?
But can Andre *restore* my faith in humanity?
Are you wearing bowling shoes?
Are all your steps for rusty metal filing and sanding. Why not try electrolysis on pitted items first Stuart Palmer Adelaide Sth Australia
Why the dislikes?
الجزء الثالث 🥉 😒 🙄
Here’s one for the purists, dirt is dirt, rust is rust, get it off.
I don't know how to react to this. I appreciate what you are doing but at the same time I cringed when you sanded off the original finish. I respect it even if it makes me a little sad at the same time. I like to think about it like this. If I ever bought an old muscle car to restore it would have a modern ignition, radial tires, a good stereo and an air conditioner. I don't care if it wasn't original. That being said, I would never take a perfectly restored vintage car and modernize it. Anyway, nice video part 3 is waiting for me now. Keep up the good work.
This video would make Mark Novak cringe
First
Why do you have to damage it tho? You should repair and conserve not just destroy and re-weld. I love your stuff, but you shouldn’t damage these antiques.
Oh okay, Thankyou for the clarification. Great job overall! It looks amazing. Sorry if I was rude.
