- Carrie Adell Strahorn is known to history as "the Queen of the Pioneers." As a young woman, she swore to her mother that she would never be a pioneer, but life is not without a sense of humor.
Adell and her husband traveled the West with the Union Pacific, establishing numerous towns, industrial buildings, homes, and more, making large leaps to developing vast swaths of the untamed frontier. This Colt Lightning carbine, in a rarely seen configuration, was a Christmas gift to Adell from her husband Robert in 1888. An atypical gift for a woman whose life defied the status quo.

If anyone is familiar with the TV show Hell On Wheels, Carrie Adell Strahorn sounds like she could have been the partial inspiration for character Lily Bell the Fair Haired Maiden of the West.

I hope my son would marry a nice young lady like her one day
So Is Ammo Still Available 🥺🥺🥺😳
It was 32-20 WCF, so yes it is still available. I used to have a deluxe model Medium Frame (not the baby frame she kept referring to) 1/2 round, 1/2 octogon, half lenth magazine tube, pistol grip with checkering. The medium frames were offered in 32, 38 and 44 calibers. 32-20 WCF, 38-40 WCF and 44-40 WCF.
The Baby Frame were 22short/22long. They also made a Large Frame in 38-56, 40-60, 45-60, 45-85 and 50-95.
