The SVD Dragunov (Snayperskaya Vintovka Dragunova) is a different weapon than the one used in this video. You are demonstrating a Romanian PSL. PSL semi-automatic sniper rifle was developed during early 1970s in Rumania as a tactical equivalent to Soviet Dragunov SVD sniper / designated marksman rifle. It entered production at RATMIL arsenal in around 1973, and was issued to Romanian army and sold for export, most notably to Middle East (including Iraq). Since dissolution of the Warsaw Pact many PSL rifles were manufactured by CUGIR for commercial export sales. In USA these rifles were sold under variety of names, including PSL, FPK and Romak-3. PSL stands for Puşcă Semiautomată cu Lunetă, which translates from Rumanian as “Semi-automatic rifle with scope”. It bears external similarity to Soviet Dragunov SVD rifle, but differs noticeably from it in almost every part and detail. PSL rifle is based on Kalashnikov AKM / RPK design, with receiver and action parts appropriately stretched and strengthened for longer and more powerful 7,62x54R cartridge. Accuracy of the PSL / FPK rifles may differ greatly from one specimen to another, generally in 1 - 3 MOA range with good ammunition.

So I suppose that flame when the tank is hit is the metal burning. The steel bullet (45-70 may have been lead but it didn’t break the tank) makes a spark against the metal, and a huge rush of oxygen hits it to propagate the flame for a half second or so before it dissipates enough to no longer support burning and/or the cooling effect of the expanding gas puts the fire out. So you end up with an effect similar to a cutting torch that creates that big hole. Also notice that for the tank to take off like a rocket, you have to hit it below the center of gravity (CG). When the tank is hit, the hole essentially becomes a rocket. A hit above the CG will just make the tank tip backwards onto the ground. A hit below the CG will cause the tank to tip forwards, which directs the high pressure jet of the expanding gas downwards, which creates that lifting force to launch the tank. You can see the effect quite clearly when he hits that last tank.
You got it!!...I've been working in welding for 50+ years...oxygen itself doesn't 'explode' but wil certainly cause rapid combustion. Those nice 'flame-cut' holes were my first thought...hot bullet... This is one thing movie/TV writers often get wrong....exploding (compared to bursting) Oxygen tanks...3,000 PSI in there...those tanks are about 1/4" thick heat treated steel...but I'd still be wary of pounding on a full one with a ball-peen hammer.
I tend to think that ignition is not caused from a spark but more likely the tanks metal is superheated from the force of impact and the slug passing through it. If it was a spark, it would have a tendency to leave a hole that is lopsided since the spark would occur off centre from the impact zone. All of those holes are relatively round which would indicate that the point of ignition was centered on the rounds point of impact.
A cutting torch works by heating the steel to red hot, then blowing oxygen over it. The bullet, when it hits the steel transfers enough energy to the steel to heat it red hot, in the high oxygen environment the steel itself starts to burn.
I'm playing this for a group of women that I'm training to handle guns. None had even held a firearm before yesterday morning, but they are pointing out all of the things in the video that they have learned to NOT do when handling firearms.
When hitting the shot, the spark full of oxygen, reacts and increases the hole. But soon the oxygen itself goes out because the pressure is too high. Congrats on the great score! 👏👏👏

The dead on shots are the only ones that have a chance of going through, the science channel just tested it lol, the results were clear. as you pointed out any puncture would likely make a similar hole, no doubt that’s correct. However that’s not what happened here.
I noticed that it is easier for me to breath after you made this video, thanks for the oxygen boost 😂👍
So much fun watching Edwin enjoy this! It's his infectious laughter that makes the video.
It' known as "leak before break". The steel is optimized for fracture resistance, not strength. (About 125 KSI-In^(1/2) ) or KSI Root Inch. Units that reflect fracture toughness. (Yes, I've designed pressure vessels.)
Занимаюсь ремонтом сосудов под давлением)
@@maghrebcat890 I've directed repair to pressure vessels also. Specifically I've analyzed welds in high pressure (2500 PSI) 1150 F steam drums for power plants, for evidence of creep voids. Too many creep voids in a weld and the weld has to be cut out and remade with new weld material. (All of which can be done.)

Edwin and Gaspari y'all rock! Love the channel and content! Peace
You guys are so Crazy shooting anything under pressure. I have seen Videos of those very size tanks having fallen over knocking the Valve off the top of the tank then suddenly the Tank becomes a Missile actually going through Two Train Car walls.
thanks for the fresh oxygen😂
I love what you guys do! Having just had surgery today to repair (again) an old injury in my left arm, I would simply encourage. Be careful. Sometimes something you have done a hundred times reaches out to bite you & that can have permanent consequences. I am not a safety nanny. I still do some dangerous stuff. You just help me practice my clench periodically.
You want to talk dangerous I own a couple of venomous snakes Crotalas Atrox's Western Diamondback rattlesnakes and some days my female one can really be a handful
Shoot the BOTTOM!!
@@junkdealyeah i once saw a CCTV of a manufacturing plant where there were being used for gas welding, some dude was trying to put the cylinder its place with his hands. Suddenly he lost control and cylinder dropped down and hit the ground from its top side (nozzle side). 2 seconds later, it was through 3 walls of hard concrete.
Shooting it with the AWM and seeing the oxygen tank take off was better than a space x launch
What was the gun used in jaws at the end? Should of tried that out
😂😂😂 Thanks for magazine jokes 😅😅😅
It Would be Great to see you shoot a Rockelauncher(RPG, Javelin or something like that)
I think it flies when it's hit in the bottom half. And the closer the hit to the center the further it goes.
Memang best mereka ni. Saya amat suka melihat content mereka. Memang best dari segi lokasi ujian mereka, terutama sikap peribadi mereka berdua.. 😅
Very cool and now we know what happens when you shoot a O2 tank.
GREAT VIDEO!!! And thank you for testing the We The People belt and holster----looks sturdy enough for me!!
this is so cool. i ALWAYS wondered what it would look like. thanks for doing this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep, O2 back into the atmosphere, Lead into the water supply. Still Amazing Vid! extremely tallented and fun to watch.
Love from INDIA 🧡🤍💚

Почувствовал, что реально стало легче дышать !!!
Спасибо!😂
Maybe a video shooting the bottom of the tanks with different calibers too see which tanks fly the furthest
This is what I was thinking
Thanks. I’ve wondered about this.
I can feel your oxygen here in Nigeria 👌😂
Nice video and clean shots 👍 💚
.45-70 is a slow moving projectile compared to the .223 or the 7.62x39mm. Penetration of a single hard surface (like a steel gas bottle qualifies as such) requires higher impact velocity.
No Mr. Sarkissian, the "R" in 7.65x54Rmm stands for "rimmed". Look at the head of the case.
Entertaing video as always, thank you guys 🫂
not youre weapons are dangerous, *it´s your laugh !!* 🤣
😂😂😂 you sound like king julien. Sorry no offense, and the piñata guy hilarious 😂😂😂
If those people don’t like what you do they should stop watching, I love what you do so keep up with your awesome content and I will always continue watching
Yes! People mind your own business. Why is everyone so outraged at everything, calm down people. I also think there idiots lmao.
What are the circles on the side of the tank at 17:03 it looks just like the burn holes on the other bottles. Are these bottles rigged to rupture?
Yes, I think so, too; prepared for rupture
So nice of Edwin to put some oxygen into his grandpa's atmosphere.
Great video! Thank you. But I think you need to hit those tanks lower to get them to fly.
What I'd like to see you guys try is mounting the cylinders upside down in some type of frame (launch pad) and then shooting off the valve! Might be a little dangerous though because those tanks would fly like rockets!
I’d rather see him get some sharks and stick the tank in the mouth and then shoot at the bottom ends of the tanks. Of course must include a 30-06 M1 Garand
Acetylene with a fire under it and put fins and a nose cone on it
