  • I snagged this 1965 Impala up to get it running for a customer. It sounds like it was parked 3 or 4 years ago. Usually that means 10 years. So who knows what we'll find?!? It's a super clean 1965 Impala SS 2 owner car. 327 automatic with POWER WINDOWS! It's also got add on aftermarket air conditioning as well. Let see if we can get this one back on the road! This is not my car so it is not for sale at this time. Thanks for watching!

    This Florida Man's brake bleeder "system" (besides Russell Speed Bleeders on my "good" car) is clear hose in a large spaghetti sauce jar with the label removed. It's all clear so I can see fluid moving or bubbles, plus it's heavy and stable so I don't tip it over, plus it holds a lot. Also - I used my trained alligator to press the pedal. Because Florida.

    Cool video Mortske. That would be worth fixing up for sure. Not many fully optioned barn find 65 SS's around these days in great condition. Sucks it has a slip & slide Powerglide instead of a 4 speed but the floor shift and console are neat. Might not loose the shop after all huh?. Back in the 70's I had a 65 a 2 door Chevy Biscayne. 2 tail lights on each side. Primer black. Shot green interior. No carpet. If I recall right it had a 283 in it. The air cleaner lid was flipped over. Good for another horse or two. Three on the tree. Fun car. Bought for $75 bucks off a scrap dealer in the red light district of Tempe Az close to Arizona State University. Like everything else I've had over the years they wind up being donors for some rod I was building. That was a nice 53/54 Ford. Until next time.

    Sorry to disappoint Mort, I put a glasspack on everything. Just cut a rattly Flowmaster off my '83 Chevy to put on a glasspack. FYI you should be mighty scared of those tires, at 34:31 I see a date code of 1101, 11th week of 2001! But don't feel bad, my '83 Chevy C20 has tires from 2003! ... But they're 6 or 8 ply or some such heavy duty nonsense so they'll probably last until 2043, not that I'm not planning on replacing them, I was doing 70 coming home on those tires! SKEEEETCH!

      245 or 255 would be much more better w/ 15x8 or 7in wheels. Like some stock metal blk smoothies. And dog dish caps. 👍

    • @haroldrogers6083
      @haroldrogers6083 Před 2 lety +3

      @@FleshLessOne with this car you would have clearance problems with taller tires remember they came out with 14" wheels and tires with G/78/14 on them H would be the step up so if you were going to go with blk steels and dog dish why not just keep the 3 spoke SS caps with a set of 225/70/14 tires and keep it classic ?

    • @FleshLessOne
      @FleshLessOne Před 2 lety +2

      @@haroldrogers6083 they wouldn't be taller just wider. As 235 245 or 255 is actually the width of tire not height. 60 series or 70 would be height. So a 245 or 255/60/15 would fit just fine. My friend's dad's '66 Impala SS has a set of 15x8 torque thrust whls w/ 245/60/15's on it and there's no clearance issues. The stance of the car is Perfect and it hugs the road GR8.
      FYI.

      @@FleshLessOne the aspect ratio does go up with each bump , 235 is the old G , 245 is the old H , 255 would be the J with 275 the old L , the GMC Scottsdale in the old square body came with the Lr/60/15 that coverts to 275/60/15 on 8 in rallys , on my 86 Silverado i had 15x8 chrome stars and 275/60/15 on all 4 corners they filled up the fenderwell and cornered like it was on a rail .

      @@haroldrogers6083 I had a '86 Silverado also c10 w/stk rally's 15x7in w/ 255/60/15 and they fit perfectly. If I'd had a set of 4x4 15x8 rallies I would of put 275/60/15's on it but those are 6lug and I had 5x5. My 64' Old's Cutlass has 15x7's on it w/255/60/15's and it's just right stance wise. However on my 64' El Camino I got 70's z/28 rally's that are 15x7 and have 205/70/15's on it and I would be able to squeeze a 225/60/15 on it, but the rears are hard to remove & put on as the whl house is very shallow and lowered 2in. Same as 64-65 chevelle 55-57 tri years and a few others. Those Impala's got's lots of room and like my Old's can fit a 295/60/15 on rears. I've seen it done it. 15x10's on rear. But some like puny sized wheels and keep the stk ratio. I prefer bigger than stk but not too much bigger.
