I would work five years for free just to learn the craft. Great group of talent. Beautiful souls. ✨👑🌃
Clearly one of the finest automotive craftsmen to exist. There are people who can lead a team that turn out results like this. It's always inspiring to see people who take such pride in what they do.
When Foose says “I can’t afford a car like this” it must be $$$$$$$$
I developed a strong passion for cars since I was a boy and I have been watching car shows since then. Something I can attest to is that his designs and work is next to none. He is by far the holy grail of custom car designers. I'm a big fan from Nigeria.
Chip Foose is the most humble car guy, truely appreciates his customers for giving him the opportunity to keep working on his hobby & dreams. Passion gets the results, always. 👍
Chip has been in our bike shop on numerous occasions as he is into retro cruiser bicycles as well as cars. We have the kinds of parts and knowledge that he appreciates. He is a genuinely nice person!
1 word Stunning ☝🏽❤️🙏🏽 How many people in the world can do what Chip Foose just did exactly!! No one ☝🏽❤️🙏🏽
When Chip touches a car something magical takes place. Its almost like the car is literally reborn. Not in a "restored old car" sense. But in an actual physical sense. Where the car becomes a child that Chip has reared. Just an amazing builder and person.
I’d love to see what Foose would do with a 1966 Ford Fairlane…One of the best body styles ever!
"Wow" is a SEVERE understatement here. Congratulations to your entire crew for creating a true rolling masterpiece.
🐇
What a pleasure watching somebody work at something he / they are passionate about. Great job.
Chip can make a grown ass man cry when he finishes with your car. He's got the gift I swear! My big 3 are Chip,Troy,Kendiggit🤗

Mine favourite trio as well when comes to car customisation.
Chip draws better and more tastefully that kindig
We made several vacation trips to Cali. And watched this car progress and it was truly awesome! What an artist…..if I only had the funds chip would finish my 65 suburban.
I’ve always been a big fan of Foose Design. This car is amazing beyond words can describe.
Um.... I'm pretty sure it was amazing. To bad I didn't fucking see it.
Wasn’t Chet a famous mini trucker in the early 90’s

It is awesome to see such a great person be so successful at their craft and stay humble . I had the privilege of meeting chip at a show in Pasadena. My friend at the time my compadre now, we just stared and pointed with our jaws dropped as chipped walked passed us. My brother looked at us and quickly asked chip can you take a picture with my brother and his friend? Chip stopped walking looked over and say sure of course! That’s my story with a car rockstar . It’s not much, but it’s my story, with all my favorite characters in it. Thanks guys thank you chip. Keep on keeping on !!!
Mind blowing amount of work …. Just amazing.
The imagination, the artistry, the vision, and the craftsmanship…unreal! These guys are incredible! FOOSE! 👏
That the best part of the build that when you see all the details the effort the work the sweat the tears and the glory when it all put together and rolling down the Street that mind blowing .
Finally Chip Foose officially comes to CZcams!
He's been waiting 6 years to finally put out the video haha
You and the mouse in your pocket, no doubt.

This car is a moving work of art! Well done! WOW! Moved me to tears!
Wow, just wow. That's my favorite Foose design yet. Super classy and elegant yet so mean. GM couldn't have done it better.
Another Foose masterpiece! 😘😘😘
Genius! An artist, engineer, mechanic, painter etc... Wow, I wish I had a brain and capabilities like that. 👑🗜️🔩🔧⚒️🛠️📐🍺😎👍
Amazes me that Chip is always hands on and heavily involved with all his builds.....One of the many things Boyd just didn't get. No disrespect intended. (FYI - Boyd would have given his team 8 weeks to try to build this project)
maybe given a month.....and charlie working till 3 AM 6 nights a week. but that stuff...no longer exists.
Chip is incredible, without question extremely gifted. But let's not forget to give credit to the people that built the car; had their hands on it. Great crew!
Taking car building to an even higher "Art Form"! Chip Foose is a true artist in every sense of the word when it comes to building and restoring cars. What an amazingly beautiful car, and as Chip said how wonderful to have someone with the money to fund this project! The rest of us have to settle for the best car we can afford, but if you love cars, you love cars! I've found the car a absolutely love, and am very happy every time a see and drive it!!
There is but one Chip Foose !
Hats off to you and your crew
for creating a masterpiece and
being the humble person you are.

I appreciate the fact that Chip Foose is thankful for everything he has and all the abilities he was gifted with at Birth thank you Lord Jesus for creating people like this masterpiece one of a kind
Jesus? You mean Allah??
Yes brother, praise the MOST HIGH
Dearest Chip : Ive been one of your biggest admirers for many seasons . I m a graduate of the Syracuse University School of Visual and performing Arts and a sort of phantom designer in the way of auto body design. All I can say Chip is that you continue to blow mw away with every stroke of your drawing medium and I look upon your work as only something to aspire to I love what you've done here with this Chevy Impala,,,,,AWESOME. god bless you its insanely sick. I love it.
I love that Chip Foose is a God amongst men, has the talents and the tools to design/build anything he dreams up...and he still uses a Bic pen to draw parts of his renderings...
100% flawless!!!!
Chip, this what the car that GM should make tomorrow. You have perfected the building and research. I wish , I could do something with my wife's 98 Riviera but in my world that will never happen , but you , my friend , make loving cars fun.
Mike Fifer
Mike Fifer 98 Rivera?!??!! Oh God I hope you made a mistake on the year
No mistake
@@N-Scale why would you want to build a 98 Rivera, that's about as lame as you can get.
Why do you care?
Beyond impressive. What a team of craftsmen Chip has assembled......I feel good watching this.
Chip has always impressed me with his talent, passion and dedication to building the best, he's never failed to hit the mark
In times gone by, I've been underwhelmed by many of Chip's designs, but this... this car is stunning! The original body WAS too long, and the concept of shortening it was Brilliant, and Brilliantly done! Add to that, having this car handle like a Vette, and maintain it's serviceability as a stock Vette is a whole 'nother layer of WOW! Hats off to Chip and associates... Friggin' Awesome!!!
I felt in love with this car! The best one i've ever seen! absolutely my favourite! Good job Chip Foose!!!

Well done Chip Foose and team! Probably another Ridler contend. Amazing job guys. No words to express it.
Well done, hats off. That's a lovely interpretation of both the original car and the concept of a Corvette for four :)
they shortened it, no back seats
-7" and that lost the back seats? Too bad. Sorry I thought they retained something back there ...
dsruddell there is back seats.
Mind blown 💥
Imagine the memories you’d make working with Chip.
Truly incredible stuff.
But … It’s the people that are the most important thing in the whole equation.
Love that about Chip.
All about the memories that are being made during and after.
Awestruck! What a special talented builder and designer! And a special human being!!
My god, this man is a genius!

Hello !
Me too !!!
to hit the lottery? really!!!
Hands down one of the best builders ive ever seen. One day Mr. Fosse i will see you!!!
What master does the design right in front of your eyes. What a master. No wonder Boyd Coddington hated him for leaving Foose kept the integrity of beautiful special hot rods cottington just started building junk and used his reputation for people to think they were buying a special hot rod. Way to go Foose keep it going
WOW!...It took 6 years to Build this Car?...I am already in my mid 60's and I am thinking that this must be a MILLION DOLLAR Build Especially if it's Hand Built!
This Guy must be a Multimillionaire to give a Custom Hand Built Car to His Wife like that!...Well Good for Him and I Hope His Wife Appreciate all the time (6 years) and Energy Chip put into it to Build it just for Her!...God Bless!
I think (pure speculation here) they never wanted the audience to see the finished product in the video because i think this is the video they played on a continued loop in Detroit when the car was first on display at the Autorama. I was there and remember it playing on a screen below the car for people to see. They also had a stock Impala next to it with certain areas marked off with notes to show what had been modified. The "end product" was right in front of everyone on the display field. So, that's my opinion on why it was never shown on the video. They should do an "end product" part to the video though for those who weren't there.
Hi Jason, that is exactly right. This video was first presented at the Detroit Autorama when we had the Impostor on display. We do have an "end product" video of the vehicle and we will be uploading it soon.
There is a red Impala running around the Pocono area of Pa. It's a chopped convertible about a 64 or 65. I think is has some other platform under it as well. I tried keeping up with it on Rt 33 going into Bethlehem area in my Super Silverado the one with the 454 and had a hard time maintaining speed one of the factors is my truck is so heavy it doesn't brake on a dime in traffic. I was specifically interested to see if someone did something like this with that car. The car was definitely shortened for one and it sat on a some kind of nice suspension to be as nimble as it traveled along.
@@thekingsilverado9004 I use to live in that area.
@@CHEECHMUN That area has really been growing I get alotta business out of that area specially the last 2 years.
nope, bad car designer in my opinion. but hey, im allowed to not like his work.
Another American Icon. Chip is an artisan- not just an artist. He also touches lives and is a remarkable human being. He does his love through metal. The pen is truly mightier than the sword.
"One Hundred Percent Unnecessary." As in, "If it didn't exist, we would be compelled to build it," with apologies to Voltaire. The best thing in these Foose videos is as much the ethos and design sense as the meticulous process. What a blessing to do the work you love every day.
Wish I had one once of the talent Chip has, especially hi drawing skills. I think you are born with it, you can learn it to a certain point but not to the extent that Chip possesses.
Your skill level depends on your effort and your passion. Nobody is born with the ability to draw, anyone can learn to draw like Foose in a technical sense, but you need to have the same level of passion for the craft in order to be able to create interesting ideas and designs.
Don started out thinking he was going to give it to his wife..then he saw it.Decided to give her an old ford he had in the barn.
hotstixx yeah i agree, i would never give someone i care about a gm product either, so it was a responsible choice to do :)

I've always loved the idea of putting a classic car on a high-performance frame. I wonder how much this costs the gentleman?
One Arm and One Leg$$$$$$
Oh and your first born.
You are right, it's all about passion. I have never seen something like this. A dream of a car, and of the people who have built it. Beautiful 👍
Happy to see the BEST on CZcams. Thanks love your dedication and design.
I restore a '65 Chevy Biscayne to original "Drag Pack" optioned Biscayne, only better. The original had a 425hp 396 and 4 speed. I added a 550hp 454, Richmond 6 speed, disc brakes and Hotckis suspension. An original was going for $75K. Mine costs me $20K which included the cost of the car. The trick is finding one that doesn't need paint or body work. The best part? Because I built it and it was an original, I drove it everywhere. My neighbor, who is rich, bought my car and turned it into something that looked like a Chip Foose car. The funny part? When he brought it out, people told him he ruined the car.
Because he did ruin it.
Rick Uyeda you probably didn't get 75 for though did ya? I like your vision better though
In 89l
YOU build a car how it should be done! I try to do the same thing in finding original paint cars. If they're not perfect, all the better. This whole modern 22" wheel w/rubber band tire /two-tone paint thing is really getting dated.
When I was in the first grade my very first drawing of a car was a rectangle two circles and half hexagon for the roof with a single antenna 😂😂😂
It's absolutely amazing! Incredible work!
That’s the most crazy build I have ever seen. Words cannot describe what you guys have done here (incredible unbelievable magnificent 👍)

Let's make a video of a build, but not show the finished product. Obviously, we have to click over to the website to see some stills of it. Hmmm. I wish they would invent a video medium that would allow you to show in motion what something looks like from a walk-around as well as from inside. Oh, well, I guess we will just have to wait until they invent _videos_ , maybe next year.

DUH!!! This is the internet...........I had no issue seeing it🤔🤔🤔
so how much did this car cost to actually build?
TheTickster - If they've been working on it for 6 years, it's probably pushing 7-figures. Certainly in the mid to high 6-figures, for sure.
And a 65 Impala that will never be built again.
...and after all that work and expense will probably never see a 1000 miles on the road.
I've got an extremely rare, first generation, left-hand drive,1968 Corolla. They only sold a little over 7000 of them in the US. It was the first year it was introduced to the US market. As far as I can tell, I've probably got the last one on the road. It's been a daily driver all it's life and will continue to be so until I or it finally dies. It was 20 years old when I got it so no way to know for sure what the actual mileage was. The odometer rolls over every 99,999.9, but I've put almost 800,000 on it myself. It just hit 50 years old.
It'll probably outlast me...I spent a couple of years tracking stuff down and just did a complete engine rebuild inside and out with brand new factory parts. Crankshaft, cam, lifters, rockers, rods, pistons, valves, everything (could NOT find a distributor though and am resisting going electronic, it's worn but still good. Same basic "K"engine later did away with points Starlets had electronic but I can't find any.) Next year I might work on some of the "pretty" stuff, time for new paint too.
Too late to make a long story short...point is...cars are supposed to be driven. I didn't do all that so I could stare at it in my driveway. It gets me to work and back every day. Last offer I got was $22,000.
I paid $300 for it 30 years ago.
@IcantSignIn --- that's how i feel about my '90 VW Corrado G60. she's a beauty AND a little beast-y!! ;)
Chip Foose just the quest you have to build a car like this is beyond amazing. You truly are a automobile artist and genius.Wish I could have a designerlike you in South Africa.God bless you good work.
This is a beautiful car. Loved the interior, awesome build.
Must have a huge wallet lol
@Ockie Ditchbank, better to be a rich hack (custom work) that does awesome work with multiple awards than it is to be a nobody like yourself.
@Ockie Ditchbank there's nothing wrong with doing restomods. Restoring cars is one thing, but completely customizing them is a completely different thing
@Ockie Ditchbank don't be a snob & think restoring cars is the only right thing
@Ockie Ditchbank it doesn't mean it's a bad thing though. Besides with what he goes through in this vid shows he could if he wanted to. I like classic restores but I don't act like a snob just because someone turns it into a hotrod.
Hell yea! At least six figures
I wonder how much he charged for this job
Mr Shadow probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 2 million
More than $100000
I appreciated the honesty of the owner when he said, 'I can't afford to build a car like this.' The level of craftsmanship it's almost hard to comprehend. I'm building up my Chevy SS, aka Holden Commodore, and it's costing me an arm and a leg. It's my own version of a 'bucket list build.' While I didn't coin that phrase, but it is accurate.
That's awesome, Chip and his crew build amazing cars
I was never a great fan of the TV show since everything was rushed and all the un-needed fru fra drama added simply because those in charge consider the viewers as dolts and unthinking fools. I certainly don't lay the blame for that with Chip. I'm sure that wasn't done by his choice. It was still far better than the Boyd program. Top quality work can't be done with a narrow time limit. And anyone with enough coin can go buy a new Corvette. A very classy choice to tuck the mechanicals from one under a 65 Impala. I only wish I had the cash to do something like it. True craftsmanship and what that means including the attention to every single detail is almost impossible to properly put into words. For what goes into a Riddler worthy car and then using it as a daily driver after? Impractical at best, but that doesn't make the car and the workmanship any less impressive. This car is one of the best I've ever seen.
Million dollar build!
I lost respect for Boyd when I watched his program. He sat in his office and had a bunch of clowns working. On the other hand you saw Chip with dirty fingernails because he wanted things done to perfection.
Well no doubt those tv shows bear little resemblance to "reality" but yeah Boyd didn't come off looking very good at all.
Turning Point I'm sure more time was had to rebuild a car of someone who will be "OVERHAULED" , but because of time restraints and the duration of the program, everything had to be broken down in a sensible way to fit the timeline of the show.
I remember I kissed Chips hand at the Detroit autorama..my wife thought I was nuts..but I truly love this guy..not in the gay way🤣my dream is to have a car with his thumbprint on it..dreams on mine..I bet if he thought of it he would remember that....
I love the way you design your ideas for a vehicle and the people you put together to bring it to life is absolutely amazing!!

Wow!! What a car from the amazing legend Chip Foose!!
Easily this was a million dollar plus build.
You're burnt if you think this was a million dollar plus build..are you stupid or somethin?
6 years of a shop billing premium "spare no expense" time/material. I wouldn't be surprised... But would the car be any less good if only 3-5 years of time was spent on it, and more stuff was CNC machined?
gdub454 Or something? That deep insight came out as your spincter muscle loosened for a micro second as that thought oozed out of your brain between reruns of the Jerry Springer show.
Yes, "oh enlightened one", there have been many of these cars like the one offs built by custom car builders like the Ring Brothers that were a million dollars or approaching that figure.
T Hyslop EZ there chief..and nevermind about something..you are stupid..not only that but you are what I quantify as the typical CZcams moron..ya see..only a CZcams moron can come up with "deep insight sphincter muscle (you missed the h moron)..that muscle becomes loosened for just a micro second as that thought oozed out of your brain and then you toss in a J Springer reference"..bravo dude (slow clap)..I'd bet the farm that you practically gave yourself a headache coming up with that..Theres no way any muscle car from the 50's - 70's thats a frameoff restoration..the full treatment..everything..is gonna cost more than 200K -250K.TOPS!!...YOU PAY MORE THAT THEN YOU ARE STUPID..you got that chief?..now beat it CZcams moron

A Masterful example of artisan craftsmanship. POWERFUL!
Why buy a new corvette when you can buy a lot of used ones for a lot less money with super low miles. I guess when you are stupid rich it doesn't matter. Fantastic car.
The new vette was bought in 2009 when they started this project build.
The 60k corvette price was a drop in a very large bucket .
The built took 6 years. Its not like it happen yesterday
burnt out on the corvette chassis swapped cars.
has been done for over 40 years, time to put it to bed.
And, they took what looked like a perfectly drive-able 65 Impala off the road forever.
It's all that Vettes are good for.
Ok cool so what's your suggestion
The extreme detail; the incredible art on paper that start or evolve what this car becomes or should I say became are beyond the description of words that are normally used to create a picture of what was and then becomes what is. A Craftsmanship from a time melded by an artist into a new time. One that is recognized. One that embodies art both inside and out of not only the car but the owners and the craftsmen who designed and made it. Amazing is one word that has come to mind.
Stunning. Gorgeous. Breathtaking.
And at the end they don't show the car neither drive it.
Come on!
Watch the next video where the car wins the Riddler Award.

MrJpeek1 Exactly, sad!
Yes, but more so the Impala. What a shame.
