I have the original EAB which by the way weighs less the the one they call “light”. I get the serrated
blades which work great on cardboard. I find it much easier than sharpening my swiss army knife,
which quickly dulls cutting up cardboard. I have an idea for your pen when you decide to upgrade turn
it into your loaner pen which will probably quickly disappear saving your new one.
Did you get your order from the Heidi - shop ?

Hitch! Hi! Dude, I'm working on the cutting stuff video, but it turns out my employer frowns on me cutting up their medical supplies. Next I'm going to ask if they frown on theft!! Wow what a great tip on the serrated blades! Yeah, my short blade gets like 2 long cuts and then it really could use a sharpening... oh yeah, a loaner pen! Great idea. The original EAB is also like $8 more. Funny it's lighter...
      Thanks!

@Michael Nasser Since I quit carrying it I have been using it to break down cardboard, and I love it! I get that there are some more comfortable options out there, like the Milwaukee Fastback, but those are usually bigger and don't give that good feeling I get from using a beautiful, quality, simple tool. Plus that would take up more space.

Great EDC set up!!! I have a convertible slingbag/fanny pack by UST. When I fly, I use it as a fanny pack because the airlines don't count it as a personal item or carry-on. Also when I go camping or in an emergency I also use it as a fanny pack so it doesn't interfere with my backpack. I wear a watch every day, and I have done so since I was a little kid. If I fly I put my edc knife, multitool, etc., in my checked bag. In my edc bag I have a lighter, 2 flashlights (one is rechargeable, and the other is a tiny solar/hand crank one), a Swiss Champ knife, a Swiss Tech 19 in 1 tool, a mini pry bar multitool, a power bank, a solar charger, USB batteries, a portable watch charger, a water filter straw, a sillcock key, a fire kit, my iPod Touch, my earbuds, 2 handkerchiefs, chapstick, a microfiber cleaning cloth, a pocket knife, a collapsible water bottle, a shemagh, a prepaid card, emergency cash, a waterproof deck of cards, a RipTool, repair kit, a handheld portable game, a fingerboard, a fidget, a yoyo, a hacky sack, a pen, a notebook, nail clippers, a flash drive, and a 6 in 1 charging cable. My wallet, keys, and cell phone are in my pocket. 8:31

      1. I can't find the UST slingback. It sounds like it changes size easily!
      2. What do you do with two handkerchiefs plus a shemagh?
      3. Do you like your Swiss Tech 19 in 1?
      4. Have you ever used your sillcock key, and do you remember how much you paid for it?

I would be lost without my edc torches. I started carrying them last year when I was hired to work nights. Now I carry 2 daily and a third while I’m working every day. I have an Angel Eyes E8 on my keychain and an Olight i5r in my pocket. I wouldn’t want to be with anything less after carrying them for awhile. It’s amazing how useful they become once you have one. I use them more than the 2 or more blades I carry on a daily basis or at least as much.

    Great selection!
For the watch, you can get a used G-Shock on ebay cheap all day long. G-Shocks are seriously waterproof and tough. For ladies the Baby-G line is great, I picked up a used Baby-G for $30 that is super durable, looks cool, and is super easy to read.
For the pen, hands down the Zebra F-701 is $9 and all metal, and awesome. When you want you can upgrade to a $8 Fisher Space Pen refill. Add a cheap pad of waterproof paper.
For flashlights, I always go with something that will take AA or AAA, they last a lot longer than the little batteries and you can always find that size at the nearest gas station. The single AAA flashlights are tiny, while the 2XAA last quite a while.
I prefer a knife that you can change/swap the blade without tools. If you can deal with the size, Milwaukee makes a utility knife called the Fastback that has a real 1/4" screwdriver bit holder on the back, that swings out and locks, with a reversable bit. You can carry that knife with a small set of bits and do sooooo much. A serious upgrade that is only $50 is the SOG PowerPint, an amazing very small multitool that also takes standard 1/4" bits.
For a carabiner, for the price of the small toy Nite-Ize carabiners, you can buy a real climbing carabiner, something that could actually hold your weight if needed. They really can be found for $5-6 each, lockable is only a little more.
I would add a whistle and maybe a small compass, very useful when you need them.
I like that bag a lot! And I like the silver and black theme, that's my go-to. I tend towards the cheaper EDC because I'm too likely to lose things. :)

Always nice to see what other people are carrying. No fanny pack for me, though. 😆 On an average day, on my belt I've always got my CCW on the right and a multi tool on the left. I carry a bandana in my back pocket, along with a knife. Front pockets I carry my wallet and a second knife (usually one locking, one slip joint). I switch my knives out alot. This time of year in my coat pockets I carry my flashlight, a spare pistol magazine, and my phone. I keep my keys on a Victorinox belt hanger, and my wristwatch is a Timex Expedition Scout. And I also keep a backpack with camping gear, recovery tools, a trauma/first aid kit, and a fire extinguisher in my jeep. Cheers, Anne!

Happy Thursday Anne, my money is on you breaking the 500 Subscriber barrier today 16th Feb.2023. Nowadays I carry my EDC on my wrists or in my pockets & dislike belt carry apart from a pistol & mag pouch. When I worked I carried a smart modern briefcase with all my clutter inside, never a sling or shoulder bag or waist pouch (what you 'Mericans' call a Fanny pack - as a Fanny is not your backside in the Kings English but a woman's genital area). For daily wear, on my wrist I wear a practical budget priced watch, either a Casio or Invicta. I have owned Casio watches all my adult life (as a kid I had a Timex kids watch - long since broken & disposed of) & usually have them 10 years & often I replace them with the same model, I currently have 3 that work, a 4th on order on Amazon & I have 2 Invicta diver model watches although I only wear one for EDC. In my pocket I have a battered old quality leather mans wallet with the usual cash, credit cards, club cards, a few plasters, a few blank post it notes & usually one of those flat pack mini-sewing kits that good hotels give their guests. Next up my keys on a ring attached to my default Victorinox key ring SAK, currently a 58mm SilverTech scaled Midnite Mini-Champ which has both a pen & a LED mini-flashlight, thus eliminating the need to carrying both as separate items & saving both space & extra weight in my pocket. Next my phone, an old 3.5 Gen flipper model which I need to replace in a years time when they drop Gen 3 & only service 4th & 5th gen on the mobile phone networks. Next up is my 2nd pocket carry larger bladed knife, usually a Victoinox model such as the 91mm Huntsman or an even larger lock blade or flipper knife and I have a fair number of knives from various brands including Buck, Case XX, Civivi, Kershaw & Rough Ryder (and its sub-brands). Most of my 3, 4 & 5 layer SAK's have scissors & plus scales with pens, some have bulit in LED flashlights or I have a Nitefox mini-flashlight with a carabiner clasp & chain attached to the knife and use it as the knifes lanyard & even on some of my non-Victorinox knives I have a Nitefox attached (they are sold on Amazon) so I do have a certain amount of duplication of pens, scissors & mini-flashlights. That is about all I normally carry for EDC & I will only carry a larger bag with other essentials if I go traveling. ATB Steve in Tel Aviv.

Good list and great video! I really, really think many people should carry a box cutter instead of using their knifes for opening boxes. Seems like a bit of a waste to have that more expensive knife do something that a cheap razor can actually do better. (Although, I understand not wanting to carry yet another item every day.) The Gerber seems like a good choice given it's size and cost. I have a cheap, folding ceramic blade on my keys that I use for boxes. But, I keep a few box cutters by the mail "station" at the house since that's the easiest way to open boxes we get.
Although if you do use a SAK to open boxes, I'd suggest the awl (assuming the SAK has it of course) instead of a blade so you're not dulling the blade just to break down some boxes. The can opener or scissors can also do it, but they tend to be more cumbersome.
I have the NiteIze Radiant Microlight that I've put on the zipper pulls of all my jackets. They work quite well, but I also have the 58mm Midnite Manager that also has an LED light. (When I'm not wearing a jacket) Both have been useful for small area lights. I like the idea of attaching it to a name badge too!

I looked at that NiteIze radiant microlight just now - that looks great!! It's easy to discount tiny lights, but when it's on your jacket zipper, you badly notice them and yet always have them outside.
I am really happy with NOT using my SAK all the time to cut boxes up. That's WAY too much sharpening. Right tool for the job, as they say.
      Thanks for the good ideas!!

Not that I could find. But it's not very obtrusive, either. Thanks for watching and for the question!

That pen is actually a terrible item. There are much better pens out there for sturdy daily use. That is just a fancy excuse to have it in your kit.

Ok, you have piqued my interest. I looked back at my receipt. I paid $3.30 for it. What other pens would you suggest at that price point? I love quality inexpensive items.
