I love this retro video format. No ads, no sponsors, just fun.
Wow, what a cool comment! Thank you! That is also interesting because I had assumed that CZcams would put advertisements in my video even though my channel's not big enough to make any money from that. I would love to be able to say I would never have advertisements, but the amount of money that this channel has encouraged me to spend on Swiss army knives… I went a little crazy after the video from VicSpain talking about discontinued knives... So I'm sorry now for the ads you'll see in my videos in the future, but the addition to my home for the Victorinox storeroom is going to be expensive.
@@thevineclimber I hope you can generate some income to finance your hobby. Nothing wrong with that. We need cool ladies and fresh opinions.
Lol I'm not sure about that. CZcams says NOT A SINGLE WOMAN has watched even one video of mine in the last 28 days!!!
@@thevineclimber As a man I’m interested in ladies opinions about tools and edc. :)
LOL OK!
Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for thanking! 😃
Thanks for Sharing Anne! 2:42 yes video please on the flashlight! I thought you done a review on on the Swiss Champ but I am game for one (more)! Cool phone, unfortunately I am well vested in 🍏 and the iPhone/Pad.
Okay! Here you go! 😀

I would be happy if I could add pliers, pin, eyeglass screwdriver, plus scales and pen to an explorer. I cant remember the last time i used the file, saw, fish descalers, chisel, or small flat screwdriver on my champ.
Oooh yes, good point! I never ever use my chisel, and I never use the fine screwdriver, either - it's funny, I never think of which back layer tools I'd like to get rid of!
We could call your new model the Jeweler? I'd like it!!
Champ is champ
Yes! They named it that way for a reason!! Thank you for watching and commenting!
One more concise video, great one!
Thank you!
☑️ Great phone. Nice light. HUGE SAK! 😂😂😂
ROFL Why do I never get tired of that joke?? I'm not being sarcastic - that's FUNNY to me!! 🤣
@@thevineclimber Loved your ROFL comment. If the Victorinox Swiss Champ works for you rock-on. I am going to look into the phone you recommended, thanks for the tip.
My EDC knife in town is the Victorinox Spartan. When leaving town it is now mostly the Victorinox Farmer X and occasionally the Victorinox Huntsman. All 3 carry relatively easy in my front pocket (individually, of course. 😂😂😂).
If I need more functionality I turn to my Victorinox Spirit X multitool which I carry in a slim Victorinox pouch on my belt. When I was part of a Search & Rescue team in Northern AZ I noticed many of the Forest Rangers carried some version of a Leatherman multitool.
Just FYI, like you I do not need to look for reasons to use my small flashlight or SAK, the uses just seem to present themselves.
I love to have different use cases for different tools! I really like a lot of Leathermans but they just don't have the visual appeal for me and since I don't really use pliers much it seems like much ado for something that I'm not going to actually get to use.
@@thevineclimber I am NOT a Leatherman fan. They make a quality product but the accessory tools cannot be fully accessed with pliers closed. If I feel a multitool is necessary (and it is generally not an EDC tool for me) I would go the Victorinox Spirit X.
I guess the point I was trying to make is that if the HUGE Swiss Champ works for by all means carry it as EDC gear, but for me something much smaller meets my needs.
That's cool. In some ways, I wish that applied to me because I think you get so many more opportunities to be creative when you don't have every single tool on you. On the other hand, you know I thought to myself this last weekend that what I need to do is go from the xlt down to a Spartan! So I grabbed the Spartan and put it in my pocket and within 5 minutes needed a scissors twice and the magnifying glass once! So back to the champ...
As always, thank you for your thoughtful comments!
Just a thought, the Swiss Champ is such a beast,
you might want to keep track of the implements
you use a lot. Then see if there is a slimmer model
that would suit your needs and would be easier to
carry. I have more than 100 swiss army knives including
the swiss champ with the analog clock. but mostly
carry five or less layer, swiss army knives.
I love the Swiss Champ, but I did what you mentioned here, and realized I need different set of tools for different occasions, fortunately I found all the sets I needed mostly by Victorinox or on rare occasions by Leatherman.
For my needs, I always have the Handyman and the Midnite Mini Champ on me, plus any other multi tool for the occasion (except for, at work, where for security reasons I can't carry anything other than the Midnite Mini Champ).
But if a person doesn't want to carry multiple of them, Swiss Champ is close to the most comprehensive one.
@hitch post As much as it seems ridiculous, I have been carrying the Swiss champ in my pocket. But when I was prepping for the video, I realized how MUCH smaller the Super Tinker is! I have a list going - thank you for the tip!
@Abhinay Tharwal Very interesting! I have a minichamp, which hits some of the important stuff... I love the idea of carrying what matches the occasion . . . One for days around the house, one for camping, one for work, etc...
@@thevineclimber If I'm not mistaken, you don't use the pliers, so you might find the slightly smaller discontinued Champion more to your liking. It will give you an excuse to buy another knife ;-)
LOL Yes, I think you're right! I keep my eyes peeled for them, but they are either really expensive or in bad shape. I have been using the pliers some - to pick up a dead mouse and some dead bugs.
nice edc ! i use the roaring fire pico fire edc pouches which you might like. i daily carry the cybertool lite and then the swiss champ when im out hiking.
Dude! You're the guy with the kick-ass light module comparison video! Can't believe you watched my channel! Thanks! I'll check out your video on these pouches. 👍
@@thevineclimber are you going to try a lite model of victorinox? i have the huntsman lite and its fantastic with the plus scales. theres an aftermarket ferro rod you can buy called firefly and it goes into the toothpick sloth, making the huntsmans a handy outdoor tool with fire backup !
@@thevineclimber also the rovyvon a8 looks awesome. i have the flawed es5u which is okay for indoor use.
I was thinking of it - I wish there were a SwissChamp Lite, which is kinda the Cybertool Lite which you like, of course, and I will confess I up and bought one - but not from Amazon like you recommended, but from Heidi Shop. This was a few days ago, after Vic Spain put out his list.
Just watched your cybertool lite video. This holster is going to activate the "momentary on" on the light unless you put it in lanyard 1st, I think.
