Whoever deleted them after being directed to share them, prison. Every single SS agent who did this fired & pension lost.
pension loss is a key part of this.
Can’t we get the Cyber Ninjas to run a forensic audit? 🤣🤣🤣 This whole excuse is absurd, heads need to roll.
Anger, outrage, prison and loss of income. May as well hang them too while you're at it grand inquisitor
You think each agent deleted all their texts individually?
And because I have to say this before y'all decide I'm the enemy for making a joke at your expense... I agree there should be consequences but the way you worded that comment really made you seem like you're running an inquisition haha 😅 maybe I watch too much witch trial/Spanish inquisition movies but I just got those vibes from that comment haha
1:43 worst is when they both increase the cost while also reducing the size, and blaming rising costs/pandemic meanwhile just straight up increased their profit margin.
Yup, we've watch this happen in NYC for a couple of DECADES!
Yesss!!! Thieves!!!
My biggest eye-roll was when Breyer's issued a statement that customers had requested a smaller package. Hmm, did they also ask to pay the same price tho? 🤔
@@patmaurer8541 Or when Entenmann's (briefly, before people caught on) hawked reduced calories. They were the same per ounce but the doughnuts were much smaller.
As an senior rep for a reputable tech corporation I can assure you that ALL text messages are recoverable through the carrier through 8 levels of deletion that would only naturally occur after 15+ years on the servers. If they are missing any of the data from the carriers then they have committed a felony and the carrier along with each number missing texts should be charged accordingly. It would mean that they specifically targeted these messages to be deleted from the server especially when the other texts in the same geographical region are still accessible this assures there was no issue with the server as a whole.
Verizon provides service for the Federal gov and the US military.
@@mtaylor7307 Then that's who needs to be subpoenaed first.
That’s exactly what I was thinking. I worked for a cell phone provider for several years. What you deleted on your end had nothing to do with us. We. Could. Find. Everything.
For that type of recovery, you're talking about court orders to dig out the data from whatever server, wherever it is, and likely knowing a lot of detail on specifically what you're looking for, from whom and when.
Not to say it couldn't be done, but it's going to be another year+ long archaeology expedition to find these SMS chains.
That’s exactly my thought. Government mobile devices have an extra level of security Ike Knox or Mobile Iron. The texts can be recovered from the carrier. (Which have a security level certification to provide services to the US govt). Or via security services for the device itself.
"Shrinkflation" has been going on for years, decades, but usually just smaller scales , ppl notice now because the companies have been so brazen about it
It proves that the manufacturers are price fixing. One company dairy doesn’t suddenly start selling the 1/2 gallon of ice cream for sage price it more at 2/3 the size unless all the competitors are doing the same or the customers would just buy the other companies true 1/2 gallon.
Price fixing / corporate collusion
Exactly i noticed it years ago
They're just doing it now more brazenly so they can blame inflation when called out.
The cost of producing a lot of these goods has _not_ actually gone up. These companies are not just making profits, but posting _record_ profits, because they realized that as long as everyone raises prices at once and blames "inflation", they can just keep raising it and pocketing the difference. That's why gas prices stayed so high for so long - the underlying oil prices dropped again quickly after the Ukraine conflict started, but gas prices stayed high because gas companies wanted to sell it for more, and nothing else.
the messed up thing is the secret service has one of the best forensic IT departments, like even the FBI sends stuff to the secret service techs, so . . .them trying to say they can't recover their own texts is so bogus
Even more messed up is that they probably are THE BEST at intentionally permanently deleting anything they want. The secret service is obviously corrupted by the traitorous right wing. Just like the Supreme Court. Say goodbye to American Democracy.
Facts
Clearly they are.hiding something that will hurt the narrative
@@creation9mars 59v0d
Ya, but the FBI ain't no slouch either and has been retrieving deleted data for quite some time now.
I love how the excuses regularly boil down to: "No, I didn't act criminally, I'm just hilariously incompetent and should never have gotten this job in the first place."
It's kind of like the insanity plea, in a way.
They acted criminally
They are ALSO hilariously incompetent
Exactly
As are most of the people Donald Trump hired.
Exactly. Like, who in the world doesn't do a backup when you change phones? And we are supposed to believe that some of the most tech-savvy people in the world wouldn't know that?
When I worked with classified info, I had to sign something that described all the penalties and lengths of jail terms for each type of mishandled information. Deleting those texts was a CRIME. Also, any action meant to cover-up a crime is a crime, so, jail time, please. Lots of people will talk if faced with jail
It's funny that Wood Jr mentioned that we need to go back to the ones that started shrinkflation (girl scouts lol). It was actually American Airlines when they realized that by taking two peanuts out per bag would save them $40k per year. Corporations went 🤯🤑
The clear backpacks would have ruined me as a kid… my Mom had me delivering Avon orders to teachers and principals every week! Everyone would have been asking why I got all that lotion in my backpack 🤦🏾♂️🤣🤣
Maybe we should give kids ballistic shields in their backpacks, and gym class could be Spartan phalanx practice....
Lol. We had to have clear or mesh k-12 in the 90s-00s
Best comment ever!!

Clear backpacks was a thing In the early 2000’s. I remember having to have one in middle school. Maybe it was just my area
The Secret Service broke the first rule of lying: stick to just one lie.
Now the "Device Replacement Program" will lead to an "Agent Replacement Program."
Definitely some shady stuff on those texts. They pulling a uvalde and letting out their trash incompetence little by little.
Not going to happen. They will have been "deleted during routine device changes or upgrades". Watch.
You do realize this is per DoD requirements, right? What, you thought they just hit delete on the device and call it a day? 🤦♂️😂😂😂
time to order dumpsterfire donny's secret service detail to cuff him and perp-walk him to the waiting DOJ cops.
we will see then who they really work for.
@John Jones chill bro, bad enough 5hey got to protect the most 'coke at me bro' but least capable of backing it up in US history. And it's not like they would have had text that no 9n3 else got, Trump is an open book, he isn't confiding his naughtiest little secrets with the quadruple vetted ex-marine current-secret service agent who probably isn't even allowed to look at his phone while on the clock.
I can’t believe that there are no consequences. Termination and arrest.
Thank the Lord for Trevor Noah! Sometimes I really need a dosage of Trevor and his team to help me get through these times we are living in. Kudos to everyone at TDS! 👏👏👏
The loyalty of the secret service should be to the institutions and the American people. Seems like all our institutions need a refreshing course on our constitution.
Ya, it's embarrassing.
Covid is working on it.
Sadly, as we are seeing with the Supreme Court constitution is subject to change based on whatever they are wanting at that time.
nah. this is just the inevitable result of an inherently incompetent system. no amount of reform will fix this
They also need a flush
They knew the situation was going to be under scrutiny. All phones should have been confiscated. Anyone that thinks this was an accident or mistake is an idiot.
Trevor's alternative explanation might actually be the truth. We've had enough indications that Trump and the Secret Service weren't besties, so those texts might have read like two girls dissing their ex-boyfriends.
I'm sure the GOP is all up in arms about it, just like the Hillary emails.
Instagram user, are you on cablevision? I doubt you are, so take your spam and move along!
"...idiot." = Trump cultists.
Yup!
Roy's traffic report is my favorite bit now on the show. Every time he gets indignant it's so cathartic.
Dollar Tree did the “shrinkflation” as well as raise their prices 25%. When they raised the prices to 1.25, many of their products got drastically smaller.
Clear backpacks makes NO SENSE when you are aware that:
1. The gunman wasn't a schoolboy
2. No one stopped him, even the armed police
3. You can put layers in a backpack
4. Kids have pressure already and maybe they want to hide things like tampons or pads!!!
This phenomenon is called Security Theatre. Check out Adam Ruins Everything's video about it.
Uvalde was an Epic failure and now the only person who's lost their job at this point is the School Principal. Shameful. All of those police on duty that day should just resign. Period. Their only job was to protect & serve, sword under oath and nd they couldn't do that.

A real statement about honesty and integrity when you’re deleting texts.
Since when does Secret Service having anything to do with honesty and integrity? Their name already tells they are not honest (Secret) nor having any integrity(service).

Shouldn't they still have proof they were "updating system or deleting texts"? Don't all computers show recent activity?
Bringing back the classics. I went through the clear and mesh book bags when I was in school almost 20 years ago. My friends and I successfully argued against them to our school board and got them to over turn the rule. They are ineffective and are a financial burden on those already struggling to feed and cloth their children. Plastic ones split at the seams and mesh ones rip from the weight of books and damage everything when it rains. They are pointless and expensive. Just ban the freaking guns.
👍🙏✌️
What, it's not like other countries with mass shootings who reduced their gun supply had their shootings go down. :)
Sensible!
and on top of it the same people proposing this as a 'solution' are also proposing unrestricted conceal carry, no need to a license, just everyone at all times can conceal their weapons.
We can have less gun violence without banning firearms though. We have yet to actually make an attempt at the actual cause of gun violence, which is violence.
Secret service: that never happened
Also secret service: what texts? Who’s texting? We don’t text?
Edited to add:
Secret Service: New phone, Who dis?
This has been going on for over a decade. It’s just the “rich people” are now feeling it.
I've got bad news for Dallas Schools- the right to privacy in the United States doesn't begin at the threshold of adulthood. And as a retired U.S Army combat veteran I'd suggest that we first try not allowing weapons of war on our civilian streets. How about we start there?!
We still have a right to privacy? I thought that ended with Roe.
Well said! The solution is very simple.
As a combat veteran, you should know that AR 15s are not used in war

Wow! That was an incredibly dumb thing to say. I hope you didn't mean it like that!
@@Bill_Garthright ar 15s aren’t used in war and to say otherwise is very idiotic in itself
They're not missing, they just don't want to give the texts up for some reason. The texts are stored on both the phones and the communication server, and no one runs a server without some form of backups.
The backups were on devices scheduled for device replacement as well. Also the server that holds the maintenance records saying why the devices were scheduled for replacement. You can never be too careful about IT.
ABSOLUTELY
Nah, the IT Engineer is smiling somewhere.......the day they asked him to delete everything off the 'cloud', he knew this day would come 😜....that data is going to be worth something.
🤔
They don't want the public to know how much the Secret Service was cheering on the insurrection when they are sworn to protect the same lawmakers.
The Students didn't bring the gun into school, the Criminal walked in with gun visibility? Why must the students 🤔 use clear book bags?
I love Roy Wood Jr & how he plays with Trevor. Comic genius & a great reprieve from national news
my high school in Tennessee did clear backpacks after the Colorado school shooting in 1999. They also made up tuck our shirts in. So no matter what shirt you had on it needed to be tucked in. It's a BS excuse not to tackle the real issue.
Yep, that'll stop them kids from strapping anything to their ankles, calves, or thighs!
Plus most of these shooters aren't the students attending the school; they're adults who trespass; students are constantly being so closely monitored and it's suffocating.
THIS. The answer isnt to make schools a worse place for students to be. Kids already have to deal with the very real fear of adults with guns killing them at the place they are legally required to be every day.
czcams.com/video/8I_6TPWcFu0/video.html
So many people in charge love to blame students. Bad mental health, students' fault. Shooters, students' fault, etc. etc.
But kids are like flowers. Without the right conditions around them, support, and care they will not grow...and if the plant dies, it is not the plant's fault. It's the person who was tasked with its care.
I’m in the Dallas area and this isn’t the first time area schools have tried the clear backpack thing. It hasn’t worked and it won’t suddenly stop an AR15! 🤦🏻♀️
Yes Trevor you are right. Companies should inform us before they do shrinkinflation, or any change on products they sell to us.
Shrinkflation's been happening for a while - I really started noticing it during the 2008 financial crisis. No one wanted to hear it then, but it's BEEN happening.
That's when I started noticing it too, but I think I've seen reporting mention it existing at least decade or so before that.
Trevor was right. Though you are telling the truth, it sounds crazy. I am very sorry to say so.
It’s been happening for decades, I’m just glad the information is hitting a larger audience.
You and everyone else noticed it because it was all over the news.
@@Zuraneve very true! Back in the early 2000s, the cost of Diesel fuel went up. Trucking companies complained about transportation costs. That's when I noticed shrinkflation. Orange juice cartons went from 64 oz to 59 oz. The price went up. Yogurt cups were 8 oz, went down to 6 oz, the price rose, as well. And so on..
as one who worked for years in documentation management, I can tell you that there are strict, detailed protocols for every instance of data transfer. if the secret service lost a single letter of a single document, they are either incompetent at a very basic level, or guilty of gross negligence in their job. this sort of thing just can't happen if the rules are being followed.
Actually, there are three possible reasons: incompetence, gross negligence, and criminal obstruction of justice. In this case, it is most definitely the latter.
Why would you assume that any rules were being followed? 🤣🤣😭
Love the energy you bring to the media
His traffic guy was hilarious! 😄😄😄😄😄
They had down sized products for years. Before inflation. Now they are making them smaller then before.
Inflation is just another word for deception. Prices are going up because we heard it on the news and from around town.
Sure, the pandemic affected some industries who were unable to work because they were sick or in quarantine or their businesses weren't conducive to safety measures (tourism, crowded events, movie theaters, etc.). But most of these price increases have risen out of greed and dishonesty.

“We changed devices” that doesn’t destroy the record of what is sent… you can destroy your phone right now and your provider can still give you transcripts
this is why all government officials use iPhones. when sending messages from iPhone to iPhone the message is sent as an iMessage not a text. iMessages are encrypted and stored on Apple servers not the providers. thats why you see blue and green bubbles when going from Android to iPhone. once an iMessage is deleted its GONE. completely unrecoverable.

The clear backpacks thing isn’t new. Some schools made them mandatory after the Columbine shooting as well, and that was in spring of ‘99. The fact that in 24 years of gun violence we have learned nothing and _done nothing_ to stop it is horrifying and so, so sad.
We have learned much in that time.
1. It is easier the support a revolt in another Country than launch an attack.
2. American politicians vote by the deepest pocket contributors-Remember Corps are people, too?
3. The “Richest Man in the World” who spent money on #45 , also bankrolled an entire party.
Ever notice why Ukraine gets to much press - Proxy war.
5. NRA was exposed as Russian backed operation. It was less costly the. Deploying troops.
6. Majority of Insurrectionists were from MI, WI, AK and Tx.
7. Who paid for the air travel, hotels and weaponry?
And a lot of these shooters are not "students"

America will avoid it like the plague....
Yes, it’s called the “Second Amendment” Of the Bill Of Rights. This is something Trevor knows nothing about since he’s not from America, so I’m not surprised he thinks we can just easily take away guns. His ignorance and yours is showing.
I'm not sure how TX thinks that clear backpacks are new. As so many have posted elsewhere, many districts started doing this a couple decades ago.
It does seem a bit paltry of solution, though, when you watch videos of some of the worst incidents and realize that many of those events were not current students. Instead, the perpetrator walked boldly into the school with little attempt to hide their intent. But, hey, let's put the responsibility on the kids.
@@aaesir214 The video of the Uvalde shooter definitely did not show him trying to hide the weapon at all. Maybe if they clear backpacks it could have been avoided. :)

Guess what they just happened to have that migration ONE DAY after court asked them. Guess what date they lost? Jan 5 onward.
Do you keep all your texts from a year and a half ago when you happened to be at a questionable party?
Companies have done this before. They generally add "new & improved!" on the package. The only thing "improved" is the profit the companies make.
This laugh was needed 🤣🤣😂
The traffic segments keep me going.
What's important is that we try EVERYTHING WE CAN to stop gun violence except admitting that the second amendment was meant for militia purpose only and is intentionally misinterpreted by the modern right 🙄
People let it slide in the beginning and did not see how this lie took hold in the gun owner / right wing circles. Now they are faced with millions of people who think guns=2nd amendment
No the republicans said they’re useful for killing vermins need the extra bullets because they’re bad at shooting
Militia-all able-bodied civilians eligible by law for military service
The modern left simply won't keep the gun criminals off the streets. That's commonly referred to as revolving door "justice". The offenders get slaps on the wrist and very light sentences. And now bail "reform" is compounding the problem.
I mean if you REALLY want to be literal about it. It was meant for the guns of the day, so muskets!? I'd be fine if there was no regulations on muskets I guess.

Hello!!! how's your day?
If you hand over your gun rights you're basically handing over your freedom
America is willing to get rid of everything exept giant death machines that can go over 150 mph.
Coming from Germany, it kind of amazes me how in the US, whenever there's a new mass shooting, deep down people actually seem to understand what the problem is - and therefore debate gun control. But as soon as someone dares to speak about this topic, the country immediately goes from: “we are all united and suffering after this tragic incident. We must stand together as a nation... to: beeing totally divided, unable (or unwilling) to find common ground, let alone try to make any real changes to address the problem of mass shootings.
It seems to me that people would rather accept mass shootings becoming a sort of "normal" occurrence; which "although tragic and terrible are simply impossible to prevent";- before they would be willing to make any concessions to the other side...
Because both sides are mainly concerned with coming out victorious from the debate. It even goes so far that signaling a willingness to compromise is seen as a sign of weakness 🤦♂
At least that's my impression...

i like this new format much better. before they used to drop the monologue in small 3-5 minutes pieces and it was really killing the hype. not we just get a nice, clean, 15 minute monologue in one video. thats great, and i'm sure in the long run they understand that this format actually gives them more viewers on youtube, because the attention span of youtube is much longer than the people on tik tok or instagram !
The opposite of shrinkflation! 😂
man, i love the traffic guy, and that last bit. That guy needs to have his own show, or longer skits with Trevor, because they bounce off each other well
100% AGREE. They are prolly holding back a bit, following the old adage- If you give away the milk, no one will buy the cow.
Roy Wood Jr. has a related podcast as well as stand-up videos available.
It finally ocurred to me that Roy is the perfect Black Mr. Mackey the counsellor from South Park.
*"Traffic... is **_bad,_** mkay!"*
I love Roy Wood Jr 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
"Shrinkflation" is not new. Companies have been doing this for years.
True. When was the last time any of us saw a two quart carton of ice cream? First, a few of them were 1.75 quart. Now, 1.5 quart is the standard size.
I learned about shrinkflation decades ago from candy bars. When they increased the price, they would make the candy bar bigger, so you said okay, it costs more, but you get more. Then they would slowly reduce the size until it was smaller than it was before the price increase.
Yep. Hershey bars are half what they were in the 60s.
Clear/mesh backpacks were a thing back in the late 90’s/early 2000’s for high schools in Chicago Proper, along with the metal detectors.
It's a miracle! They found the texts! Lol!
