- Trevor Noah was born to a black mother and a white father during South Africa's apartheid era, when those relationships were illegal. Noah's bestselling audiobook, "Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood," was chosen for Newark, New Jersey's first citywide school listening club. The club is part of Audible's Project Listen Up, a program that provides free Audible memberships and tablets to all Newark high school students and teachers. Noah joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss the process of turning his memoir into an audiobook and why his mother is the hero of his story.

Well, good luck finding a child actor with dimples as cute as Trevor's!
Ikr !!
I think they should have him star once they get to the adult Trevor stage! No 1 could do it better!!
@@ellenw391 when will this movie be released
@@sina6743 I wanna know
@@diegovelarde8253 i want to know too
The person who plays Trevor noah in the movie has to be south african. We africans are tired of the dreadful and poor african accents in some of the movies.
I mean......they should let Trevor decide who to act as him
ikr
Drake is going to play Trevor Noah😦😦😣
yep! every single AA actor that played Nelson Mandela should be killed for that very reason 🤣
@@gaelmehager9354 😂😂
I so wish Maya Angelou was still here. To see and hear a conversation between Trevor and Maya would have been so wonderful for the youth of today. Trevor’s story is reminiscent to me of Maya’s youth. I think there personal histories will inspire the children and adults most at risk today. We can overcome where we come from and what has happened in our past to be great caring members of society. Thank you Trevor for always being so open and uplifting!
mrsrunningmommy yeah mandela too
Yes indeed
Wow, I thought the same.
Beautiful! He is definitely Maya Angelou status.
I love his mom. Listening to him talk about her and reading his book, you realize just how great of a woman she is. She raised Trevor to be the kind truly the best kind of man.
Trevor Noah always makes me smile, those sweet dimples how could anyone not! His show is always the best time of the day for me.
I CANT WAIT TO WATCH HIS MOVIE!!!!
I've heard the audible version of the book and It adds such a nice touch to be able to hear the story in Trevor's actual voice. Great book!
Dear trevor noah
I'm currently reading your book in my English class. Just finished reading chapter six. I love your book. I cried and I laugh. I cried because I could connect with your story. I'm not from south Africa and I'm not half black. I'm jamaican and your story pushes me to never give up even if I should ever think of giving up. I love you.
He looks exactly like his momma! Awesome!!
I listened to the book the first chance I got, finished it in two days and it was the fastest 8 hours that went by. Wow.
Damnit I almost got sidetracked by all these negative people here👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽kudus to you Trevor, well done. All power to you!!!
Thank you VERY much!!! Looking forward to get the audio for my Grade 3 class in South Africa! Trevor you are our HERO!
😲👍👍👍
How can anyone not love Trevor. He’s such an inspiration, so humble and very witty.
Hundreds of millions hate him .
@@lekholokoelekotsoanamoloi9593 lol not that many people even know him. You mad dumv
@@twitch3942 by people you mean Americans? There are people outside of the USA (bubble) , and they knew him before he worked with John .
@@lekholokoelekotsoanamoloi9593 I know and he's mostly loved. What you talking about 100 of millions hate him. Most of Africans who knows him loves him. And most people who does know him loves him. Maybe 2 million or 1 million people who knows him hates him.
@@twitch3942 ok . 😂. He might deny it, but he wants people to like him . I used to love the guy but he sure knows how to rub everyone the wrong way 😂. Came to accept that he is young and still trying to figure life out .
So smart and so talented.....I can not wait for the movie.
"We use a lot of your stuff" "We use a lot of your stuff too" That's the most beautiful thing I have ever heard spoken between two shows.
That's amazing. So proud of him! He deserve his success. So kind and smart!
has anyone noticed how Trevor's face beems whenever he is talking about his mom..
I hope they get actors who can talk as they talk in South Africa.
Trevor Noah.. Well said.
OMG COUNT ME IN, ALL OF IT! BOOK🤾🏾♀️, MUST LISTEN NOW, AND SEE WHEN RELEASED. WOW! 😲❤
Today a friend gifted me with the book " Trevor Noah BORN A CRIME" ...I've always wanted to have a copy
ooww...Trevor...you're so sweet...
TV Presenter: "...so whose playing you?"
Trevor: "I don't know...I would like to play me but I'm decades too old..."
ooow...so nice Trevor, I can resonate with you...no one can ever be you when you're your true authentic self...lots of love to you man!!!! 😘
Noah... What an incredibly adorable boy and an adorable man ;*) Smart & Funny - - I hope to hear those words from my son(s) "Thank you for making me a Man."
Good book, good guy.
Pat Brodie I read the book and listen to the audiobook!!!
The audiobook is amazing I laughed, I cried and I felt like I lived another life.
THIS BOOK IS A MASTERPIECE
Listening to the audiobook is amazing! I’m glad that he read it and not a ‘voice actor’.
Who else reads the book and listens to audio at the same time?
I just love Trevor Noah! He is an amazing human! His mom is an amazing strong beautiful woman! Thank you for bringing such a bright star to shine through these dark time!
DBS Morning Show, Why are there no closed captions on this video? Please make this video accessible.
AMAZING BOOK, the ending was powerful, and the acknowledgement’s are as well, I would read it 1000 times if I could, an instant 10 out of 10.
I love Trevor so much, amazing, intelligent and so handsome:) and your lookalike for the movie is a son on Queen Sugar Nichols L Ashe, Lupita is perfect!!! Yess can’t wait

He is a talented guy
I can't wait for the movie

That boy on queen sugar (blue) will be good to play little Trevor ...I will be watching
YAAAASS!!!!
Also just out your local library. They might have the audiobook in electronic format. If they don't you can request it.
That kid in "this is us " the young randall can play trevor..they look alike.. and that kid is an amazing actor
I loved the book I’m so happy it’s going to be a movie!!!
Trevor, can't wait to hear the audio and see the movie. Great choice for your mother's role. When are you and this beautiful actress getting married? 🔔🎇 A perfect match.💕

Brilliant guy I am so proud to be african
Time for a sequel! Is he writing another book soon?

Gail’s glasses! 😍😍😍😍
I ❤️ Trevor.
Love you Trevor
I can not wait to see the movie. 😆
Love Trevor Noah!!!
Success story
You need to have ‘Blue’ from Queen Sugar play one of your characters as you !!!
Dawn Ross I was just thinking the same thing. “Blue” definitely!
Has anyone ever seen Trevor Noah slouch?
One sad thing is that I’m South African and we don’t read this types of book
I’m in the 11th grade and we read Shakespeare’s plays , Agh
Ask parents to thengela wena eyodwa
Oooooo Trevor is super cute and intelligent!
I wonder if he found zahira in the states.
mxm Trevor bruh...#sighs
Hes so cute.
i want to put him in my pocket and carry him around with me everywhere I go
✔✔✔😆
Mmmmm...
Funny but true
Alfred Enoch could play trevor as a man and the little boy who impersonated the characters from black panther could play him as a boy. jordan I think
Ra Paul can play the older Trevor Noah and Blue Ivy Carter will handle the younger Trevor Noah in the movie.
'It must have been hard for you...' Americans have this presumptuous need to project their feelings about an issue on to someone else
Life is hard for everyone. But Trevor's mother is so resilient that even if something bad happened she moved on and never dwelled on the pain . Unlike me, it's hard for me to forget my trauma and also i end up dwelling on it too much. She's brave and bold as well and trevor has got those values from her
@@MaryAnnSweetAngelthat's okay, I could maybe see what you mean. I sincerely hope you overcome your hurt. . My point is that the questioning is leading. A better way to ask would have been 'was it hard for....' . Acting like you can ever come close to appreciating a context you've never even come close to living in is presumptuous imo.
Jaden Smith could play teenage Noah :-) Schucks let Trevor play his adult self only he can deliver his own jokes instead of finding another actor to TRY and do a South African accent. Just saying
Nick Pfeifer I was thinking the same thing. As awesome as Trevor is, he isnt the last colored child from south Africa.
Thank you for pointing that out
Mrs. Adriann thats what acting is all about finding someone else to do a south african accent. Or it would not really be acting at all.
south african accent is not that hard. it's the clearest accent if you ask me, quite different from other african accents.
Jaden Smith appears to be a spoiled punk brat. I love Trevor and would never see a movie with that punk trying to portray him. I do agree that actors from the country of origin do exist but sometimes they can't get a movie made without a name to draw people... Unfortunately. We will see who gets chosen to play him. Just don't give me either of the whack job smith kids to watch in anything. They make me think of kids trying to impress people with their intelligence, class and culture when all they are are some spoiled rich brats.
The little boy on Blackish could be a good Little Trevor
Or an actual South African actor this time... just a thought
Trevor reya o leboha mona Afrika Borwa. O nthusitse hore ke bone hore lenna nka tswela pele bophelong. Tsatsi le leng hore nka kopana le wena se kele o mong wa batho bao dimo ba thusang setjhaba. Tswela pele ka mosebetsi o motle wena mora Afrika.
Don't embarrass yourself please.
@@realsebsworld3004 why is that embarrassing. Explain
what they should do is have Trevor play himself and everyone act like hes the appropriate age for it so its a grown man playing the part of a child XD
I'm confused why Trevor just starting talking about N.Korea, that was very irrelevant.
Because he was asked to.
I would like to play Trevor's Father... Good lord i cn do it out of my best ability
so, a woman taught him to be a man! Alrighty then
Lol , is trump doing what obama started?
Why does trevor look whiter than usual
Mr.bank220 you know he is biracial. He should be whiter than this.
He was on tour in Europe recently.
Mr.bank220 I'm black and my son's father is Dutch... And they look like Trevor
Could just be brighter studio lighting used by this CBS stage.
Mr.bank220 He is the daywalker.
