Wim Hof Method Guided Breathing for Beginners (3 Rounds Slow Pace)
Vložit
- čas přidán 2. 05. 2024
- This is a slower paced Wim Hof Method breathing exercise that starts with a 30 seconds hold building up to 90 seconds breath hold. Very suitable for beginners or anyone who prefers a more gentle guidance.
!! Don't do the breathing exercises in a swimming pool, before going underwater, beneath the shower, or piloting any vehicle. Always practice sitting or lying down in a safe environment. Tinnitus symptoms may appear as a result of pushing too forcefully during the breathing exercise. If this happens, take a step back in your future practice, it’s important to increase gradually, not forcefully !!

Don’t know what agoraphobia is but god bless you brother ..keep up the good work ..Sending thoughts and prayers to your mind and soul !

Fuck yeah!!! Fuck yeah!!!! Welcome back to the world sorry we fucked it up while you were indoors! But breathe the free air and know even strangers are proud of you. You! You're awesome and don't ever forget it
So happy for you!!!! Sending love from Alabama!
It's crazy, I'm a stage 4 lung & liver cancer survivor & used to struggle to breathe. Now not only can I breathe better. I can hold my breath for a while with ease! So happy I found this!
That’s amazing, keep it up!
Praise God you are ok. I saw your nickname. Thank you. Thank you.
Glad to hear that. How many times do you practice this method in a day?
God bless you
Damn, glad you're among the living, you Badass.
I’m here as a heavily depressed and anxious person trying to take charge of my life, starting with this technique. Wish me

Good luck! ❤
You’re in the right place 🙏💚 also I really recommend getting the 1 Giant Mind App and doing their meditation. They make it completely free for everyone to help the world. It changed my life so much when I was going through a lot of anxiety and depression. I was so anxious that half of my face would go numb to give you an idea. For some reason that’s how it manifested in my body but this breathing technique along with that meditation and somatic experiencing has reduced the anxiety by 80% I would say.
Nervous system regulation feels so good! How are you doing 8 months later?
How is your progress going??
Best of luck!
Its unbelievable how much this techniques helps calm withdrawal symptoms from lean, weed and nicotine, thanks to this technique I am drug free for one year since 1/1/2023

oh my word man, yeah you know when people share stories like this i realize i don't have anything to complain about in my life. Im so happy to hear that you're getting prosthetics and i hope you keep riding that drive to do great things in life. Damn, consider me inspired.
Thats awesome to hear, all best wishes for you!

When my relationship ended, I felt like my world was crumbling around me. The pain was so intense that it was almost tangible, like a heavy weight pressing down on my chest. I didn't know how to cope, how to move forward, until I stumbled upon Wim Hof's breathing technique.
At first, I was skeptical. How could something as simple as breathing possibly help me through this agony? But I was desperate, willing to try anything to find relief from the relentless ache in my heart. So, with nothing to lose, I gave it a shot.
As I sat there, following Wim Hof's instructions, something incredible happened. With each deep breath, it was as if a wave of calm washed over me, soothing the turmoil within. For the first time since the breakup, I felt a sense of peace, however fleeting it may have been.
But I didn't stop there. I made a commitment to myself to practice this breathing technique every day, no matter how painful it felt at first. And slowly, but surely, I began to notice a shift. The pain didn't disappear overnight, but it became more manageable. I could breathe a little easier, think a little clearer.
What surprised me most, though, were the physical benefits. I had always heard about the mind-body connection, but I never truly understood it until now. With each inhale, I could feel tension melting away from my body, leaving me feeling lighter, more energized.
But perhaps the most profound change of all was the way it helped me reconnect with myself. In the midst of heartache, it's easy to lose sight of who you are-to become defined by your pain. But through this practice, I rediscovered my inner strength, my resilience.
Today, as I look back on that dark period of my life, I am filled with gratitude for the role that Wim Hof's breathing technique played in my healing journey. It wasn't a quick fix, nor was it a cure-all. But it was a tool-a lifeline-that helped me navigate the stormy seas of heartbreak and emerge stronger on the other side. And for that, I will be forever grateful.
Que bueno 👌🏻
I went through something very similar and wim hof helped tremendously. Im glad to hear he has helped you heal as well. Keep it up!
I don’t know why but when Wim Hof said have a good night, or a good day and a good life, I started crying. It’s like I felt genuine love from him. I’ve been going through a lot and trying to unpack my trauma. I feel at peace now.
I have also experienced the same, and am working through the effects of trauma. I find when I do this breathwork, like the actual breaths part, it allows my grief to come forward, and sometimes I just let the tears flow and be present with the feelings .
❤

My husband and I have been doing this method for around 4 months.. It has become part of our daily lives.. We have included it during our morning rituals..We watch this video each time...I love hearing his encouraging words.. I admit to hearing them during the day... I'll take a deep breathe, "You are doing fantastic".. ""give it all you got".. And when I need uplifting... "you are doing okay".
The ten minutes to do this practice is well worth it. I have only been able to hold my breathe the full 90 seconds a few times. I was diagnosed with COPD... I did a lung test after 3 months and clearly it shows how strong my lungs have become..
... Thank you Wim.. You have made a difference in our lives. Bless you.💙
More than I can do that's for sure
Good for you two! Bless you and your husband too!❤
Had never heard of Wim Hof until just a few days ago. I'm 70 years old and not much inspires me anymore. I've been doing this breathing exercise morning and night and feel like I've discovered the fountain of youth. I look forward to better health and less stress. Bless you Mr Hof.
Catherine Downey It’s better doing this technique away from the city , place where there’s a mountain, trees, and a river. Guess you can say you’ll be breathing in the ‘prana’ the breath of life
Catherine Downey my dads 74 and he seems motivated everyday taking care of his garden, vegetables, fruits and not one day I don’t see him not smiling. He feels blessed and appreciated for reaching that age when there’s millions that don’t. 🙏
Do it where you can. That’s all any of us can do
It's so nice to know. My father is 82 and just started. I hope you persevere (and us too) because people that have done it for a year so far, say their health and emotional well being has improved. I want to persevere too, can not do it anywhere else but my ventilated room before breakfast but I've been feeling great. What works for me is staying aware of the moment I'm doing the excercise because there's been days I've done it in a hurry because I have lots of things on my mind and haven't felt as great as when I'm fully focused in my breathing. Infinite blessings 🙏🏼

I was happy to complete it the first time around. Need this. Thank you
I Can never make it past the minute hold. I always break down crying, but it always feels like such a healing crying session. The joy and relief that I get afterwards is kind of overwhelming.
That's actually really beautiful and natural.
Your body is releasing old blocked emotions that were stored on your cells because it now feels safe to do so..
Our innate body is so intelligent. It knows exactly how to heal itself, if we fully relax and allow it to do its job.
I was looking for this comment, same! Even often times just doing the 20-30 deep breaths I burst into tears before the breath hold and there's no conscious reason behind it, cellular trauma is real!
The Body Keeps The Score is a great book on this subject.
It's so strange. I just did this for the first time and I wanted cry, I'm 34 male. Something primal inside wanted to release bottled up emotions and feelings
I have a lung diseases that they told me was going to kill me, and now I can hold my breath for 3 minutes thanks to this man! God Bless!!!

This is my maybe 8th session. Had a really traumatic incident where I was shot 3 times and managed to live. It changed my life and it really fucked me up mentally and emotionally the last 4 years but in these moments when I’m doing my holds I feel grounded again..even if its for a moment it feels like I’m me again. Wow, that is really amazing. Very happy for you.
I'm in the same situation as you are!
As someone who is just starting this today - I felt like I was going to hyperventilate on the 30 rapid successions of breathing in/out, rather quickly. Did you feel this at the beginning to? I wondered if it was my COPD, or if it may just be normal?? thx! 😵💫
Yes, I did. This is my third month and I still only hold my breath for 30 seconds at a time in each Round. I don't care if I'm not able to hold for one minute. I did hold it for 45 seconds the other day and I thought my head was going to explode. So, just keep at it, do what you can, and you will be able to do a little more as you keep working on it.
@@GunnWrights Hi, I just wanted to say that, especially the very first time I did this breathing, I also hyperventilated and it was scary because I did not know that that was a normal reaction. I somehow kept going, and was able to discover the good feeling of the breath hold part, and then, for me, the hyperventilation stopped after a few more sessions. Though I have, even in childhood, seemed to have less stamina than other people, I've not been diagnosed with a breathing condition.
@@VonnieHendrex-gx8oc You know, there's another interview or recorded breathing session (can't remember which) with Wim where he really emphasizes how you absolutely should take a breath when you feel the need, that that doesn't mean anything "bad," and that trying to hang on for dear life is counterproductive. You seem to have realized that yourself, but one thing I wish about this video for beginners, is that he'd made that more clear. He does mention that "it's OK," in the second round, but I wish he'd more explicitly say, something like, "this is not about competition; take a breath whenever you need to; it won't take away from the benefits."
Feeling calmer each day. Situations don’t bother me as much as they used to. Once per day is all I need to feel more at peace
I want all the people posting their huge turnarounds to also give themselves credit. Yes, using the Wim Hof method has helped, but remember that it was the fact that you even did it at all that was a miracle. That was all you. Holy mother of God, i did this for the first time and it made me genuinely happy 😁😁 and I held my breath linger than 1:30. COVID survivor afyer having been in the hospital for a week and having to use oxygen for three months. That was at the beginning of the year. So happy to have found this.

Woke up with a bit of a headache this AM. Did a breathing session followed by ice cold shower. Headache gone! Total exhilaration that lasted well past 2pm. I don't know what it's like to suffer chronic headaches or migraines; never had a migraine. But all I can say is try this! You've got nothing to lose. It's free medicine. And if it works, well...
Wow. I love this so much. Only non-substance method, besides deep tissue massages, that makes me relax.
I have a SEVERELY over-active sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system, from severe chilld-hood abuse, that extended into adult life. The abuse ended, when my father died, more-or-less, just a couple years ago. I'll be 34 on June 18th, 2024.
I had a psychotic break in 2012, at age 21. Suffered with manic levels of insomnia for 13 years.
Now, have an autoimmune disease as a result of black mold poisoning and having my previous residence continuously crop dusted with agricultural poisons.
I have began cold showers 15-30 seconds every time I wake up, and end every night with this breath work.
Do it every day. I felt lightheaded the very first time. Now, a year later, after daily practice, I’m a pro at it. Thank you, Wim.
Today is my first time and I feel so lightheaded! Glad to know I'm not alone.

This has been such a blessing for me! 20 years of SSRI use and brain fog, psychosis when I got off in Nov 2022 and a year and a half of trying other antidepressants and bezos that caused painful and even suicidal ideation toward the end. On one of my worst days, I had this thought to look up ice baths - as I had heard of them before - and went home, filled the tub with cold water and ice and painfully got in. It has been trial and error, but eventually, I just chopped a hole through the ice in my pool and went right in. Now the ice is out, I am taking cold showers and looking at getting a freezer. The WHM has been a gift from God.
After doing this exercise and reading these comments I started crying and laugh uncontrollably. I suffered from anxiety, depression and thoughts of suicide my whole life, and for the first time in my life I just found peace with that. THANK YOU WIM, YOU TRUELY GAVE ME AN UNDISCRIBABLE GIFT

Hello Wim. I’ve been practicing your breathing method for about two years consistently. I use these CZcams videos nearly every morning to start my day, followed by a cold shower.
My four year old autistic son wakes up early and usually sits on the couch while I practice my breath work.
The other day, when I was done, I offered to put on one of his cartoon shows, and instead he asked to watch your breath work tutorial, and he did all three rounds.
This melted, my heart, and I’m thankful for the moment it created.
I truly hope you see this message!

I also had a complete nervous breakdown about 5 months ago it was the most horrible scary thing that's ever happened to me I thought I was lost forever. Honestly feel like a different man ever since I started the Wim Hof Method. I combine the Wim Hof breathing technique with Headspace Mindfullness meditation. As soon as I do the 3 rounds, I start mindfullness and concentrate on the breaths again. I wish I knew about this a lot sooner but its better late than never. WIshing everyone reading this a wonderful day. Peace.

@@terefefeyssa877 Greetings! I believe in repetition and consistency. From my experience, its best to start your day with the SAVERS method by Hal Elrod. The Visualisation/Silence part can have wim hof breath work + headspace training on mindfullness. I do wim hof breathing technique twice a day. Once in the morning when I wake up and then once again after work at 6pm. You should try it regardless of results for at least a year before you judge its efficiency. Did anyone else think this guys MAD expecting me to hold my breathe for 1 min 30 on an EXHALE. Then be like ohhhh shit I’m doing it. Start to panic and think I can feel myself needing that breath now and then thinking, nooo I’m fine. Crazy. Going to do this every day !
exactly that feeling
Yeah. The last round I thought I was done before 1 minute, but managed to make it to 2 minutes. There's _something_ to it. But I noticed I feel bad afterwards... headache and lethargy.
Eventually you’ll get it. I’ve gone over 6 minutes after exhaling on the 4th round of this method
i was confused at first but wanted to confirm; hold on exhale Not inhale?
@@somerandom7672 if you feel that way you shouldn't hold for too long.
I have been doing this for about 2 months now and this is the first time I got through the last 1:30! Not bad for a 50 year old smoker wooo!
I feel great, thank you Wim!
nice job
Proud of you dude! Just started doing this myself I’m a young smoker but I recently quit trying to get my lungs back in shape!
@@Armondsworld Good luck!
That’s awesome!
Now you should try shrooms
Wim Hof is truly a gift to the world, for all of us! The body is not separate from the mind and it's all connected by the breath. I used it during the pandemic when I was living alone for the first time in my life. I learned to breathe through the anxiety and concern for my kids who were in NYC. I learned that my body/breath and my life is one amazing gift. Thank you Wim Hof!
Wim's voice is back! That was a strange change for a while lol
You deserve all the good life has to offer. This is a gift. Thanks Wim
Love you Justin!
