    My first gun I ever got was the Taurus PT92 I’ve still got it and plan to keep it for as long as possible! The gun has been so reliable and hasn’t failed me yet! If anyone is looking for a great first gun either one of these are great options!

    I have had both and will pick the PT92 every time over the 92. Better trigger most of the time than the 92 and just as if not more accurate. I will also take a frame mounted manual safety over a slide mounted manual safety any day.

    Glad to see you doing honest reviews again Matt. This is an excellent video. I've owned a PT92 for 12 years and I actually carried it "concealed" fo about 10 years. I've since gone to the TH9. My PT 92 is now by my side every night. I trust my life to the PT92. Again, thank-you for an excellent and honest review.

    My dad had a pt 92 stainless and that's the pistol I learned to shoot with and fell in love with it (partially due to it being my dads). When I got old enough to buy my first pistol that's what went with, I had friends tell me to go with the beretta or get a glock or something else but I love my pt 92. The only issue I've ever had was my father inlaw gave me some cheap steel casing ammo to burn through and it DID NOT like that at all, but when I put brass back in she went back to firing like a dream.

    I’ve always been a Glock guy but I decided to get an all stainless and polished Taurus pt92afs. Got one brand new for $450 and it’s 2024. Insane deal and thing is just perfect. I wanted an all metal gun but an all metal block is just an insane price. And once you look in the Glock, although they are very simple easy to manufacture, guns are heavily overpriced for what they are. It’s funny because I have a whole bunch of car beans and a whole bunch of blocks and probably 100 random block bags from 30 rounders and 40 rounders and things like that. but I don’t carry any of those extenders in my Glock anyways so it is what it is at least I still have a bunch of fun sticks. I honestly think that was my only appeal to Glock. You see them in the movies and you see full auto Glock with the Extendo mags, and that was very appealing in my younger years. but as I’ve gotten older, I find myself having different tastes. I grew up shooting a 1911 and a Beretta M1 with my dad. Vietnam military guy. Anyways, now I have the Taurus PT 92 and my father is getting quite old and told me he will be giving me the same MN I was taught on as a child. Now I just need the leather shoulder holster and I’ll be good lol.

    I got a great deal on a 92X a little while back. Was like new and came with the case and all 3 mags and other whatnots for $500 otd. It feels like cheating a little when i shoot it. Im liking the Taurus pt92's the more I see em, which isn't often, and found a stainless one for $300 from a pawn shop that just opened here about four months ago. Another thing to mention is the mags do not fit as you already know. But they can be modified slightly and will fit but will not LRLB. Obviously would only do it if couldn't find mags and had plenty Beretta mags. Lol. (Have the blued pt92 already by the way and did a Beretta mag just to see.) Appreciate the videos Matt. Been missing the how-to's. 🐍🇺🇸

    I owned both and sold the Beretta for the Taurus, its just a better smarter and way more convenient piece then the older Beretta, its like the Taurus made a perfected version of the Beretta, which Beretta should've done way before, and now from what i hear and see the Beratta company is taking advice from Taurus makers, so in that case just buy a Taurus, its cheaper better and is thinking ahead, so should you.

      I bought a PT92 from walmart in the late 1980's, seems like it was around $350. I heard from some of the walmart guys they stopped selling handguns because they were getting too many returns compared to rifles and shotguns, plus bad publicity.

    Everything he says is correct, however I would still go with Taurus with the life time warranty that goes with the gun even though customer service is spotty. They are cheaper and they got 21 round mags and they come with 2 mags instead of one (dont know if all Baretta do). But most of all it was my first gun I ever owned and upgraded the blued to stainless steel and never had any problem with any of there firearms (lucky). Ps I'm also a budget gun lover but would never buy a high point... I'll take it for free but wont buy one.

    I've been a Beretta fan since before they got the mil contract. I've owned several, have an M9A3 now (blk/gry). That said, I agree - functionality? Taurus has the better safety. CZ P01, Sig P226, it's like everyone else knows the lever goes on the frame not the slide 😁

    Taurus safety is way better I don’t know why beretta doesn’t have that kind of safety I wish they would. I have the pt92 in stainless with pearl grips it’s beautiful and I also have a beretta m9a4 centurion love that gun also. I love these guns better than glocks. They are ultra reliable never had a failure unlike Glock where I have failures once in a while. If I had to choose one gun only to have I would pick between the beretta or Taurus over any other.

    I've had 4 tauruses and you roll the dice every time you get one. with the beretta 92 or even a girsan you get a consistent product with better parts availability and holsters. The Taurus design crams a lot of stuff into the FCG with the frame safety/decocker and if the parts are screwy in any way it can screw with the trigger resetting weird or even getting sheared off while shooting.

  • @danielgreen6547
    @danielgreen6547 Před 2 lety +1

    Maybe the overall quality of the PT92 has improved over the last several years, but I've owned 3 of them made over the last 10-12 years and the experiences have not been good....broken locking block in under 200 rounds, one gun randomly liked to decock itself, and another one the V-shaped safety spring came flying out on the range.
    It really sucks the quality of Taurus is so hit-and-miss, because the safety/decocking system on the gun is really awesome. The safety is the perfect size, shape and location, and it is great that you can carry the gun cocked and locked if you want to. The shape of the PT92 trigger also gives a better reach for many shooters, and it "feels" much lighter than a standard M9/92FS trigger.
    *If* you have a PT92 that works the way it is supposed to, they are awesome guns.

      Used a second hand one has a truck gun for over a decade and never had an issue. Killed everything from raccoons and coyotes on up to dispatching cattle and calves and even dogs on occasion. not an issue once other than trying to run that junk polymer home defense ammo. Love the gun and honestly for the money have found few that ran as well.

    You can also pick up a g-conversion for the Beretta which makes it decocker only, removing the dead trigger. When you look towards the Beretta 92x, I have found that the safety location means even less as the slide mounted safety is far easier to activate/deactivate due to the reshaped grip. Also, I live near 6 independent gun shops and none of them stock Taurus. I won't bash Taurus, but the shops have their reasons.

    Frame mounted safety wins everytime, and it's hilarious how the tables turned and Beretta copies Taurus with a picatinney rail ...and on the Beretta don't be surprised when you activate the safety under high stress....plus you can easily mod Beretta mags to fit a Taurus....plus the de-cock aspect , plus price difference, plus the Taurus usually having better slide serrations.....should I keep going ?.....and the Taurus doesn't have a better finish ??? You should compare the stainless models then lmfao
