The problem with the Beretta slides was due to faulty ammunition they were using ammunition that was actually double proof pressure. Beretta actuall sue the government and got a lot of money for damage to their reputation. So in my opinion Beretta is the best 9mm ever made.
After two lots of brand new M9s had been rejected, unnecessary modifications to the slides had been requested and implemented, the metal alloy had been changed on request of the US Army, finally to the Beretta technicians were shown the tools with wich the Picatinny Arsenal "estabilished" that the fault of an handful of broken slides was due to the tellurium (a normal alloy element added to make the metal more machinable) in the metal alloy. They replied that in Brescia you could find those tools only in the museum and, few weeks later, sued the US Government, submitting the findings of four different test labs stating that the M882 Ball ammunition the US Army was using approached 50.000 PSI chamber pressure instead of 36.500. the question was settled with the Government paying Beretta $12 millions for the inconvenience.
John Coleman I agree 110% mine has never let me down not once . The build quality is perfect and the design is perfect. God bless and have a great day
People rarely mention that the very same ammo at the Sig P226 alive.
The Beretta 92 is one of the better 9mm out there. However, the slide mounted safety ends up becoming a death trap. The extra thiccc grips doesn't work for everyone either. It's also very heavy too. So it is more relegated to duty use than anything else.
@mike193inf well to be fair....not the mark 23 or the usp series =p
@LenMan619 I am 6'2 with long hands and fingers as well and personally I've never held a more comfortable pistol. I love the grips on the fs
I have 130,000 rounds through my 92FS. Preemptively replaced a few parts over the years, still shoots like a champ.
What parts did you replace and at what round count
@@talhaarmschannel locking block to later style. Recoil spring. She just keeps going and going!
@@talhaarmschannel about 80,000 for the locking block, and every 30,000 or so for the recoil spring. This is not a carry gun for me, just use it for matches and training sessions.
$30,000 to $40,000 in ammo through one pistol is impressive.
@D Briggs I've had this gun for close to 30 years. Back then I'd buy Winchester 100 rnd 115gr fmj value packs at Walmart for like $11. So it is more like $15k in ammo, spread across 3 decades. Many advanced training school sessions where we'd go thru 800-1,000 rnds per day. I'd watch all the expensive, highly modified 1911"s around me choke, hehe! Damn , I'm getting old!
This is an old video, but thought I’d add 2 cents. The FS92 is such a classic handgun. To not have one in your collection or arsenal would be a mistake. It’s a perfect example of reliability and good looks.
Yup, Amp. Same thing with a CZ 75

Such a shame that Beretta’s reputation is still being hurt by the slide failures in the 80’s that were due to improper ammunition loaded to way more pressure than it was supposed to be. Essentially they were shooting ammo that was equivalent to .357 magnum or more through their 9mm Berettas. Beretta sued the military for the damage that was caused to their reputation and won but the false rumors of faulty slides are still being spread and doing damage to the reputation of this great handgun.
Kinda strange how the world works. A good reputation doesn't get around much. A bad reputation, even if refuted circles the planet and lasts forever. Look at all the guys who still think the M16 is a jam-o-matic some 50+ years later.
Still had weak spot like P38
@@jcgardner5852, Weak spot? If shot with the proper pressure ammo there was no weak spot. If anything goes then every gun has a weak spot.
@@shawnglass108 check area where slide locks to barrel same design as P38 which is problematic
Yes the ammo was hot but other 9mm can take it. It was loaded to make certain submachine guns function well. Once again other 9mm can hanfle the Browning P35 and Ruger P85 come to as can easily handle the ammo. Fact remains that the Baretta design is just weaker and mainly copied from Walther P38 which shares problem.
I’ve had my 92FS since 2000 ish…I have never had a mishap. It is an excellent weapon. It is now about 22/23 years old.
Math checks out
That's when they were still building good ones. Bought 1 new would not chamber. Wanted to cry. Lol. Just traded it in
I carried the M9 daily while serving in the military. It is big and heavy for a 9mm, but that weight makes putting rounds on target quickly a very easy thing to do. The M9 makes me look like a much better shooter than I actually am.
Seems to be the perfect gun for me 😅
Thank you for your service
God bless
Are they worth the money?
@@hunternichols9463 just picked one up a couple months ago after owning guns for over 20 years. ABSOLUTLY worth it. Ive shot em before, and have always wanted one, and finally got one. It really is an easy gun to shoot well
Today's Symphony : " Beretta's Chime of the Targets" - Hickok45 - conductor. ( in the key of 9 mm)
This was my first pistol I ever bought 25 years ago and around 30 pistols later it is still my favorite.
Same here. Everything that has come after it has been a disappointment.
Me too, except just two years ago. Best choice I’ve made!
Same here.
I've had my 92FS for about a year now, it's a pistol that I always wanted to own, it was my second pistol I've ever owned, and I love it. It's a very reliable pistol. I have had it jam on me once, but after it had jammed, it dawned on me that I didn't lubricate it as well as I should have, and after that, haven't had a single problem since. Like he says, it is bulky, but still is comfortable, and I don't have a large hand. And the weight, for me personally, while it is a little heavy, it counter balances great with the recoil and makes it fun and accurate to shoot. It's strictly my home defense pistol, I ain't no Martin Riggs or John McClane to be having it as an every day carry(plus, they're cops)
Aaron, I'm really glad to hear you're happy with your Berreta and that the weight vs recoil isn't going to be an issue. I bought one and on 11 Dec 21, I go to renew my CCW and I decided to qualify with it. I'm going to shoot it this weekend, just to feel it.
Thanks for your input and watch your six, keep your head on a swivel, hold the line, and never give up!
As an Australian I think the first gun I shot.... In a video game was a 92FS in Battlefield 2 and it was sweet. Furthermore I love Australia and will never stop loving her, however in saying that, God Bless the United States of America! Never give up your right to bear arms, your ally and friend Australia
Our gun laws aren't as bad as say the British, I'm fairly sure we can own some hand guns and straight pull rifles you just need to have a really good reason to have them, opposed to America where its your god given right, as it should be. Other laws would have to follow in Australia though, shooting someone who illegally entered your house would probably be a murder charge. I think we follow the equal response self defense or something like that. It's Saturday night and I might be enjoying a few brewskis so don't quote me. But I agree Wormboy, we are trying to get our rights back.
Maybe you know this and were just unclear about it, it's your God given right too. Rights are for all, not just Americans. You've only had your right to self preservation downgraded to a privilege as if to say you're no longer worthy of that right. But it's still your right. God bless Australia and get your privileged back.
+Tree King we essentially can't own semi autos or handguns. We also don't have open carry laws. But if you like shooting responsibly we can still legally own nice shooting rifles. But for example the famous ruger 10/22 is basically off limits without a special licence. Now that's a shame.
Love Bf looking forward to BF1 can't wait
with all the fucked up things that crawl/walk/swim/fly around Australia, id say you guys should be able to get guns more easily😂😂
It was my self defense carry in the navy for 4 years and is still today as a civilian now. I trusted my life with it then and do now . The most accurate shooting pistol I've ever had the pleasure of owning. It will always be my number one . Thanks for videos . Keep it up.

92FS is my very first handgun. I have owned it for almost 30 years with no issues.
If you’ve had it for 30 years it’s a 92F not a 92FS. In 1985 the model was a 92F, the same gun Mel Gibson made popular in the Lethal Weapon movies.
@@davidlazor5241 Nope mine is a true 92FS based on the trigger guard stamp marking 30 yrs old
i was a MP in the army in 85, i carried the heavy 45 as my service weapon. i now own the beretta 92fs. love it
As for reliability, the only two pistols I have ever used that seemed to never
jam have been the Beretta 92 and the CZ75. Those two guns are the
most reliable. If I had to bet my life on it, I would only have a Beretta 92
or a CZ75.

What about Glock and sig 226

ran across your comment today. My Dad passed away last November but gave me his unfired --- perfect 92FS built in about 1994. I happen to EDC a CZ PCR. But I can only use one "like" on your comment.
@@PLP357 I can not shoot either very well due to the ergonomics and the trigger. The CZ75 and Beretta 92fs have
just the right grip and just the right trigger feel that works for me where as Glock and
Sig don't have that feel for me. My favorite carry piece is a real old Beretta Puma in
7.62 Browning. It shoots well, fits my small hands and can be easily concealed
by a small person. Plus the thing has yet to misfire or jam and it is pushing
60 years old.
Ernest Langdon put a little clip on instagram a while back about the Beretta safety. He said it's not meant to be pushed up, it's meant for the user to swipe their thumb down (in a similar fashion to the 1911) across the rear of the safety and it will pop up. I tried it and by george it works. It's much easier to manipulate that way. I have all g models now, but hopefully any FS users out there might find that helpful. Mr. Langdon knows his stuff, and is worth checking out.
thanks for the info
I saw that and was like maaaaaannnnnn I'm a dumby. Been pushing up on the safety for years now.
yeah, it's really not that bad. As an added bonus, the slide safety frees up any clutter around the slide stop, making its manipulation easier
I will say that it can be tricky to get a good grip on the gun and reach the safety when drawing out of a bigger holster with a thumb break. No worries if you're using the little blackhawk ones, but you drfinitely need to practice wih the bulkier ones.
So I'm obviously watching this video with my m9 in hand because that's what we do and I read your comment and did it. My eyebrows shot up and I did it probably 20 times lol thanks for the info
From what I have seen on people who have owned these, this thing is the queen of ammunition. The open slide design/ no feed ramp means it can feed and eject just about anything.
I carry a 92A1 at all times. Absolutely love the 92 series.
Grandpa's gotta hella good eagle eye. I'm very impressed.
Grandpas not like him...
He’s an assassin
Guy’s shot more rounds than an infantry platoon.
This video barely scratches the surface. I seen him knock the pecker off a mosquito at 80 yards with a Ruger LCP with the less desirable trigger, pre-upgrade.
I love the Beretta 92FS/M9!
I bought my 92FS in the late 90’s. I’ve lost count how many thousands of rounds I’ve put through it. It’s been 100% reliable, and over time, it actually dethroned my Sig to become my favorite pistol. It’s a very accurate pistol, and it’s so smooth to shoot.
The 92 is a classic and it’s my favorite of my semi’s
I love my 92f. Never had one problem in 30 years.
Same here, mine is a 92f not a 92fs. I have never had any problems and is a great shooter.
hi. i was in the army from 95' - 2000. we hated the m9. i could not get through a lot of range qualifications bc i spent all my time clearing malfunctions. i was not the only one either. i always read how reliable they are but yet in 5 years in the army and 10 as a civilian police officer, it was the worst operating gun ive ever fired. any idea why the army ones were so bad?
@Patrick McKinnon thank you for your input. i always like the ergonomics and SA/DA, and the weapon. but i have no faith in it bc of how bad the ones were in the Army.
@@heginschristianstrong7707 Most likely the mags. Either bent lips from dropping or non beretta mags. The Army loves saving money. My pistol eats everything.
@@edwardnavoy1261 thank you
I read an article with a Navy seals admitted to loading the 9 mm round way above saami I specs. We are talking about 10 millimetre pressure coming out of a 9 mm. That's why they were blowing up.
I have an italian made 92fs. I had quite a few malfunctions in the first 500 rounds or so, (hangups and extraction)but I was also using the cheapest 115 grain. After about 500 rounds or so, it was smooth as butter! Never fails anymore after being broken in a bit, and the thing drives nails. Never had to adjust the sights, it was spot on out of the box. Expensive, yes. Worth it? In my opinion yes. No rail for a light but lazermax guide rod laser is a cool accessory. I also like all the sort of gimmike "safety features" on it like the safety switch being a decoking lever that also misaligns the pin so it won't shoot from hammer strike, and the chamber loaded indicator...its just really cool engineering. Easy to strip and clean, and just feels good in my hand. I probably still play with it more than my pecker. It is the first pistol I ever owned, and still one of my favorites.
Purchased one over the weekend and knew I would love it. It is the most accurate handgun I've ever fired. Very tight groups at 20 yards.
One of my all time favorite pistols! Classic

Can’t go wrong
Glock or beretta?
If I was a cop, then the beretta or browning high power pistol would be my choice while on the job
Love my 92FS. Now the reason why Beretta will be operating in Tennessee is because here in Maryland they tightened the gun laws and made it more difficult for citizens to purchase guns. Beretta decided to not support that and pull a major company out of Maryland. Thanks Maryland legislators!!
Connecticut did the same thing with mossberg and they are moving some manufacturing here to Texas, Gun manufacturers come to Texas, we are very gun friendly

I am a firearm license owner and member of a shooting club here in The Netherlands 🇳🇱, (very, very rare here!) and I still use my 92fs. It’s a fantastic pistol, never jams, very easy to clean, and purchased a lot of upgrades directly from Beretta Italy over the years. (, adjustable sights, sport trigger-set, extra mag, hogue grip, and a steel recoil rod. I purchased it used for around 350€ /USD , and with the upgrades it’s probably around 600€ / USD, and it never fails on me, has good looks, and with the upgrades perfectly fine for target shooting at 25 meters.
The only issue I had was that one point the factory mag failed to feed when using the slide catch and only worked when releasing the slide to have that extra momentum. Bought a new magazine and all good again.
I enjoyed your post. I like to hear from folks around the world. The only thing I have done with mine was to get an all steel guide rod. It adds a little bit of weight towards the muzzle. This Beretta is an excellent pistol, no FTE or FTF. Accurate and a joy to shoot enjoyed talking with you.
The very first shot I fired out of my M9 was directly in the bullseye. I fired about 100 rounds through it that day and left a fist sized hole in my target ar about 15-25 yards. It's my favorite pistol
Just bought my first Beretta 92fs today.
Daniel Gomez Congratulations man it's one you will never sale I love my 92fs
Bought my first Beretta 30 years and 7 months ago. At the time I was in the Air Force and sometimes I had to carry a side arm. In the Air Force at that time you shot 50 rounds every year or in some cases 2 years. I thought having a similar weapon I could shoot as I wanted to was more prudent. I seperated in 1991 and was still carrying a S&W combat masterpiece.
I just bought my first gun ever yesterday and it is this exact gun.
@@MrSICK661 congrats man. My first firearm was a Ruger precision rimfire that my father bought me, my first purchase was a Hatfield SAS, I am hoping my first pistol will be the Beretta.

I have owned several Beretta 92's over the years, and recently purchased another one. ( I'm keeping this one! ) I have NEVER had a problem with any of them. I've had bad ammo, but never had an issue with the pistol. They are accurate, function flawlessly, smooth, and easy to maintain. Great handgun.
feb 5 2021 here, i was cleaning my beretta 92a1 as i was watching this video. when i was shopping for my first pistol a couple months ago, i tried some of my friends pistols and did a bunch of research online. i went to several gun shops where i was able to hold a lot of pistols in my hands. when i held the beretta 92a1 for the first time i remember thinking that it felt better in my hands than any other pistol i had held before. the gun store employee let me rack the slide back, and i remember audibly saying "oo i like this". it was so silky smooth pulling the slide back, it feels how a gun should feel. as you can see in the video it seems easy to shoot, and i'm willing to bet a lot of money that was a big reason it was chosen for the army. you want soldiers to be shooting something comfortable and something they can hit their targets with easily.
last month i bought another gun as well (sig p365), and i shot both my 92a1 and my p365 several times each at the range. today after shooting 150+ rounds between them, i can say that the "honeymoon phase" is wearing off between me and my p365. i still like my p365, but today the one thing i learned is that i will never love shooting it as much as i love shooting my beretta.
i agree with hickock, its a great gun

Even going back and watching the older shows, I still come away with a smile on my face. Thanks, guys.
Guess the US army is going to the Sig 320. Say what you want about the Beretta 92 but it is an aesthetically pleasing firearm.
Something they are starting to regret.
Have the 92FS and Sig PS 2022. Both are great weapons and true to the holder. Must’ve been a contractural thing with the Military and Beretta. To me they’re both top notch systems
I belive its the sig m17
I really don't find any negative aspects of the 92FS, for me it is perfect. I would choose one of these over a Glock any day.

I love my Mod 96. The 96 fixes all the problems the 92 has.
Sure, but if your buying a 9mm, you should just buy a slingshot and save your money.
In contract security we had those in inventory from the 1990s to 2016 and 100,000 rounds later they were finally pulled from service because of frame cracks lol, it lasted a long time. The Locking blocks under the barrel however had to be replaced every 6-10,000 rounds, springs replaced as well. The issues with the slide you mentioned was mainly because ammo tampering by those testing it in the military, that didn't want to change from the 1911 to the M9. Similar to the pride issues when the military switched from the M14 to the M16. I grew up with the 1911 and I was furious because the change but after decades of use it's not a bad service pistol and I reckon that the SIG will serve America well too.
I had the 92F in the service and really liked it. At the time we talked a lot of smack about it but in hind sight it was accurate, reliable and easy to operate. Our guns had thousands of rounds through them with never a hiccup. They were used daily in a salt water environment and never failed to function. I don't know the difference between the 92F and the FS but the F worked good for me. It's on my dream list to own, but I have to get me an M1A first, priorities you know.
Beretta makes some great models today I think M9A1 with high capacity magazines, better sights, a light rail, etc. I would have bought that if it was out when a bought my 92FS a few years back.
+UnabashedNationalist I bought it brand new. It surprised me being it is the same design (not exactly an M9) as the military handgun. I bought it new though between 2010-2012. Maybe even 2013. But a few years back either way. Might have to dig through some receipts. I'm happy it's working though.
+UnabashedNationalist I thought the average locking block life was 25,000 rounds. Maybe I'll get their. I'm a young guy. Of course of have other guns I shoot more. Haven't pulled my Beretta out in a while, and when I did last week I remembered why I bought it. It shoots good and feels good. Been about 8 months.
+UnabashedNationalist And to be perfectly clear, I didn't polish anything. I don't polish guns. Of course I mostly shoot Glocks and Revolvers so I don't need too.

Us cleaners love those😉(Leon The Professional)
Just bought one this week. Thanks Mr. Hickok for your invaluable expertise. Keep up the great work
Beretta is the oldest private company in Europe
Not only in Europe :D
Alan Passat in tbe world!!!!
Michael thousands?😂 wtf
Founded in 1526! I didn't know that.
One if oldest companies on earth 500 years
I wonder if they have a lot of ants on the range, with all that sweet soda...
It's diet
They die of lead poisoning lol
Water + food coloring
He's so accurate he shoots the Ants as well
@@sighaley nah, water doesnt fizz because it's not carbonated.
It’s so cool how much fun he has with the 92 FS. He’s just popping off quick rounds and hitting almost every shot.
Firstly, as the young'uns would say, you rock. The speed and accuracy you have is beyond my comprehension. Narration is entertaining due to the story behind the firearms and always well organized and delivered. Let us not forget your son's ability with the camera. His way of slowly going over the subject piece as you relate the history and so much more is perfect. Great to have a son like that. I have a 92s Italian government trade-in that honestly looked new in the box when I picked it up a few years back. I'm no fan of these pistols but as you mentioned here, the "cool factor" is definitely there. I find the grip to be too bulky and my hands are not small. I don't mind the mag release located on the heel of the grip as many here will be familiar with. Being an "s" model there are no serrations on the front or back of the grip strap but again no problem for me since I rarely get a sweat worked up. Beretta quality never seems to be a problem so there is a large plus. Overall, even though as I stated I'm no fan of the piece, it is a great handgun. BTW, I compare everything to my 1962 Belgian built Browning Hi Power, the one gun I will never part with. Now there is a gun that fits my hand. (Couple of great videos you produced on that piece also.) Thanks you both.
I’ve had one nearly 20 years. Took her out after years off from shooting just this weekend. It’s like I never stopped. This weapon makes you look good, works with you, and is utterly reliable. It does all this while looking sexy. May we all age so well.
I would love to see "guns of" the 50s, 60s, 70s, etc. videos. Your have great collections and whenever I'm looking to purchase a new firearm I have to fire up the inter-webs and see what hickock thinks.
same here!
Thanks for this video of my favourite and one of the most iconic pistols for someone who grew up in the 80s. I still love it as much now at the first time i saw it in Lethal Weapon
I love owning the military adopted firearms as well, especially after I read the firing test that they do and the very small amount of malfunctions they received! Thank y’all for the content, keep up the awesome work!
My first Army issue handgun was a Model 1911A1 that was made in 1944! I was a tanker in the Idaho Army National Guard in the late eighties. In 1991 we got the Beretta M9 (92F) and I liked it right away. I went Regular Army in 1993 and I was issued an M9. Still liked it. I carry the GLOCK 19 as my duty sidearm (I'm a police officer now), but I own a Beretta 92FS. I like it. It's a sweet shooting handgun.
You shoot steel and brass?
Aesthetically, there is no denying that the 92FS is better looking than any Glock...
Also, you should really do a P99 video.
Much better looking..I just feel the glock shoots a little more accurate
Really? I think the 1911 and glocks are the sexiest handguns on the market
eh, not a fan of the looks of this, I'd take a glock, m&p, or springfield over this based on looks
Hell...almost any gun is prettier then a Glock!! But, as ugly as a Glock is, I love 'em!!
+the taste of bleach Glock is Austrian though ^^
I’ve always admired the fit and finish on my 92. Absolutely beautifully made firearm.
I love my Beretta, happy since day one of owning it. owned a Gen 3 G17 as my first but I kept having issues with it. Once I traded it in for a 92FS I’ve had no issues since at the range. I trust it with my life if needed in any situation
I've had my Beretta for 21 years. I wouldnt trade it for any other pistol. I replaced the grips with Hugue finger grips. I love it.
this is my duty wapon, and even carry if in the winter. I will never get rid of it it is the best gun in the world to me
Another great video and on one of my first guns that I still enjoy shooting. 92FS never gets old. Always fun to shoot
I was issued a Beretta 92D Centurian when I was federal police officer, and it was super accurate and utterly reliable. I currently own a 92FS that was produced in 1998, and is a VERY used police surplus weapon. For kicks, I tried to manually jam it with some snap caps, and it loads up no matter what. Perfect lockup!
Hello. My experience with the 1989 version of the "92F" included a broken firing pin. Weapon did not fail. Broken trigger spring. Weapon still worked with manual reset of the trigger. I liked it as my first 9mm. Used it 21 years. I would definitely benefit from training in repairing / servicing this weapon. Enjoyed your channel since early 2016 starting with the Glock 23!
Steel or brass ammo? I also have a 89 92f , no issues but will be grabbing replacement parts
I bought a 92FS last week. I bought the Italian made one simply because the sights were nicer.
Amazing gun.
This was on my chest during a six-month deployment (USMC). Very nice, and the 1911s were getting very tired. My personal carry weapon now as a civilian is a revolver, for several reasons.
Love the Beretta 92 one of my favorite guns right beside the 1911 thanks for doing a video on this beautiful gun i love your videos you teach me alot
Love this gun, I bought my back from my department after we switched to M&P, the thing has never let me down and is actually kinda fun to shoot
I own two 92-FS and shot over 250,000 rounds through them to date. I also own a total of 14 magazines for the two 92-FS.
About 2 years ago I started to experience random malfunctions in the form of a stove pipe around the middle of the magazine I was using. I ordered from the manufacturer two new main springs and guide rods, thinking that was the problem, but on the next shooting session I experienced the same problem, a stove pipe after shooting a few rounds out of a magazine.
I decided to put aside the half empty magazine and resumed shooting with the other. The half empty magazine ended up on the bottom of my range bag… and remained there for quiet some time. Since that time, I shot many magazines experiencing no malfunctions whatsoever, but totally forgot about the half empty magazine at the bottom of my range bag.
A few weeks back I re-discovered the long lost half loaded magazine; I topped it off with a full load of 15 rounds and used to shoot. Guess what? The malfunction returned. I top that magazine again and punctually experienced again stove pipes.
Moral of the story: some malfunctions are NOT the fault of the gun or the ammo, but of the humble magazine. Now ALL the magazines of ALL my guns are clearly identified with markings that distinguish one from the other.
I've experienced the same problem with military m9 mags.
I own many handguns. My Beretta 92FS is by far my favorite. I love mine. Great video Hickok 45! Thank you!
I now carry the Beretta 92x Full Size 17rd with Langdon Tactical Trigger Job and his mater work making this the Smoothest Trigger in a Double/Single Action! Awesome Weapon. I also have the 92fs,M9A1, M9A3 and Wilson Combat. Loved it in the Service and now as a Civilian
The Beretta M9/92FS is the firearm of choice of Michael Scarn, the greatest secret agent ever. He dual wields them with great effect.
Threat Level Midnight!!!
We got a clean up on aisle five
Ha ! Y'all crack me up ! Love to see dad and son getting out there and doing things together. Great work !
I’ve been buying firearms for 15 years and am FINALLY about to buy a 92fs. Few guns have gotten me this excited. Its about time.
One of my favorites, I have been shooting handguns since 1981.
The 92fs was one of my first, I now have 3 berettas .
To my understanding the SEALS caused the slide separations via using +P rounds for extended use, something Beretta didn't test before hand. Afterwards they were built to withstand constant +P use.
+Ned White I don't think it was stopping power they were trying to increase but over all range.
I agree 1911, killed everything two legged for 75 years + and still going strong!
Very acceptable though. All guns fail sometimes any will, but when my life is on the line I want something tried and proven. I reload too, had similar issues once in a while thats a given. Our leaders today think to much and do to little, when it comes to firearms use what calibers and firearms work, sure you can up date things but come on. Go to a service pistol in 45 auto and thats that. the 45's been around for 100+ years gotta tell you something.
Yes, why when using ball ammo bullet diameter really matters. Besides handguns were not primary weapons, they were last ditch weapons.
True, but that's also one of the reason they moved to the 9mm. Infantry fired 45 just fine but it's those who weren't infantrymen like pilots, crew men, tankers, medics, mechanics and such. Those who primary job was something other than killing the enemy, the ones that are the most likely to be carrying a pistol instead of a rifle. The support MOS's shot 60%-70% on average with the 45 while with the M9 they shot 80%-90%+. The thought being Infantry have rifles, for those who are forced to defend themselves while doing a primary job round count and accuracy mattered more. Also 17+1 means if you are restricted to one hand say a Medic applying pressure while defending himself and patient you don't have to reload as often. The last and maybe biggest reason of swapping to 9mm and off 45 is 9mm is NATO. Means everyone in NATO can exchange and resupply each other.
As usual you are a great shot! The Beretta 92 fs is my favorite 9mm. It is accurate, never jams, and looks incredible.
The 92 FS is a great pistol. Fast, accurate, reliable, and it is a very good looking pistol. I have an Italian made pistol and the American made M9. Both of them no FTF or FTE issues. Smooth as silk, comfortable to shoot, and accurate you can't beat this pistol. It is also easy to clean and perform maintenance on it. I like my Berettas I will never get rid of these guys.
Thanks for your videos Mr. Hickok I enjoy them and they are full of correct and timely information.
God Bless
I am a Beretta 92FS fan and you are the best to provide an explanation based on experience in a scientific way .. Your way of explaining and the shooting during a gun test makes the presentation interesting .. I benefited from you a lot
thank you
This is my all time favorite gun. The ultimate cool factor. Love DS/SA.
Out of all the DA/SA handguns - the Beretta is the only one I personally can shoot well with. SIGs I love them but can't shoot em. I'm a 1911 guy or a DAO wheelie guy but the DA/SA always trips me up psychologically for whatever reason. However the 92 trigger system works for me. I think it is because DA/SA transition is the most controllable of any other DA/SA. The trigger breaks at the same point. The second shot has the same trig location with a slightly lighter trig pull.
Also there is no denying the Beretta is iconic. As a kid in the late 80s/early 90s loving action movies its a gun I had to have when I became an adult. That and the 1911!
If you like the beretta you'll like the s&w 5906.
1911. It's like a Glock, but for men.
+tman008 This
snort
tman008 and WAY prettier
I'm a retired Deputy Sheriff and we were issued the Berette 92. I had zero problems with it, it would eat any anmo I fed it. I had bad ammo, but never had a malfunction due to the pistol. Ive owned and still own, a few 92s. No problems with any of them. They are top quality.
I own a 92, and I really thing it was a great step up from the 1911...and I've had several of those, too. 3 Checkmate mags and 1 MecGar. A great pistol!
I bought a 92FS last year and I absolutely LOVE it. It is an amazing shooter. I am not that great a shot, but I can hit the bulls eye with frequency using my Baretta. Can't say enough about this gun. I brag about it all the time.
YOU have the best videos!!! You know your guns and I love when you shoot something I own and invariably learn something more about it; the way it's built, the specs and a little history thrown in! Keep it up sir!
Did lots of rambling and repeating phrases today tho. Please don't shoot me for pointing that out. Ditto for John. He could use a script on the range but I did notice that he sure can shoot.
Thank you for the helpful and informative videos ..much appreciated. .now my sons are on board as well!..your educating the next generation of gun enthusiasts and I appreciate your efforts
Had my beretta for a little over a year and I can say it’s my favorite fire arm to carry/shoot easy to clean ammo is relatively cheap and it’s just a beautiful handgun with an amazing history, anyone wanting to purchase a beretta should it’s one of my favorite hand guns and hand gun companies
I remember hearing old timey wisdom from rough dudes that did stuff they can't talk about way back in the '70s before the "wonder nine" was a thing.
They said a P38 could be depended on to work.
Doesn't surprise me much that Beretta adopted some of the design principles from the Walther.
My #1 favorite. Made just for my hands , I had two 9mm and a 40 cal. , awesome handguns. Great video.
Just bought yesterday a 92A1. My first handgun and first ever self purchased. Pretty excited about it too
Beretta 92FS 9mm Parabellum is the best pistol ever made.
I'm maori from Auckland New Zealand and one thing I like about your videos is that you remind me of my Grandfather except with an American accent haha . I didn't know that much about guns untill I started watching your videos. you the man 👍👍
