About Honest Tea Talk
with Aliyah, LaYinka & Sumayah
Inspired by Jada Pinkett-Smith's 'Red Table Talk', 3 Muslim women have set up a platform to speak openly and honestly, giving viewers an unedited insight into the minds and life of Muslim women. Honest Tea Talk brings deep and often unspoken topics to the table to lay down our masks and start much-needed discussions about matters related to Muslim women and the ummah at large.

Correct truly amazing women .BARAKALLAH
Sister Na'ima is a massive blessing to our ummah too. May Allah reward them all with jannat al firdous❤
I'm not sure why I feel like crying...I think its because I feel so understood by you guys. Lol. Thank you. This was beautiful.
Same x100
Lovley to see muslim women having real conversations and not just saying the correct things, in the correct manor to the correct crowd. It is so accurate the way you decscribe the comunity esp 10 years ago. I did not like living in the cult style judgmental environment that is 'practicing uk muslims'. I'm proud of each and everyone of you and apreciate you leading the way for those who are still trapped in a toxic mindset. What a wonderful community we would be if we truly embraced loving each other, helping and accepting each other.
You have had, and will continue to have, this brothers support 🙌🏻, assalamu alaikum!
" A woman on her own is a force
Women are powerful when connected and together " jazakalah sisters
I have no Muslim friends, I try making some but Muslim girls my age are prestige. Inshallah I make friends who I can worship allah with.i feel so lonely and anxious all the time can you guys make dua for me please.
Blue Tint same here sister... may Allah swt grant us great loyal friends who we walk towards Jannah with
I pray Allah makes it easy for you girls , if you need anything I'm also here and willing to make new friendships ❤️❤️
I am in the same boat sister. My whole life it has been so hard. I pray that you find those that you can lean on and grow with. 💓
Blue Tint go to the masjid
Travel to meet young sisters who are striving for piety
I appreciate Na'ima bringing the context of how we got to where we are now. For those of us in the West it has been a rough ride. We bring SO MUCH with is when we enter Islam and instead of sisters celebrating the diversity and difference we want to clone and straight-jacket one another.
Inshaa Allah, here's to a new village that represents and celebrates the diversity and unity of sisterhood.
My experience was that I constantly felt I was being judged and someone is looking over my shoulder and worse thing is I came to realise that I was turning into that type of a person then I started to feel uncomfortable within myself so I had to make some changes and it was a struggle specially inside of me
@Green tea yup I've done the same. I've distanced myself, it's unhealthly. It's better to have less friends but be around the right people.
@@sarahb6758 great advice and always put Allah first and use your knowledge to do best in the enviornment.
Salaam alaykum sisters, would u consider doing an episode on Idenity, and how that can be changed during the early years of being a revert and how to get it back and hold onto your uniqueness?
I honestly believe that every Muslim sister battles with Idenity, especially when they marry into different cultures as a new revert.
Or how about episodes on:
-Black women marrying into Asian homes. 🙄 (Sisters need to be educated before it's too late).
-getting to know yourself and giving yourself time as a revert before getting married. Sometimes we marry the guy who has guided us to Islam, and we automatically trust him. Or sometimes we are told by the community that we have to get married just because its half of our deen, and we end up with a bad person, only hoping and praying that everuthing will work out. These are major issues.
walaykum salam, I think that's a good idea. I always advise new converts to avoid rushing into marriage and to first learn about Islam and what the Islamic rights and responsibilities are for men and women, husbands and wives before considering entering a relationship.
Loved this! I'm still holding out for my tribe, it can get really lonely feeling like you have no community or no "group" that is open to "letting you in". Unfortunately I've been burned by so many sisters it can be very discouraging and you just tend to isolate yourself (especially as a mum).
There is a lot of lonely mums in the Muslim community, it’s quite sad ☹️. But on the bright side I have learnt to be my own best friend and to be self sufficient. we will find our “tribe” one day In Sha Allah. ☺️
@@arianhanl8724 I am one of those so called lonely mom's too but I now see it as I am no longer alone because I have Allah.
So sad to hear, hope you're okay sis. Love and Duas ❤️
♥ Hej snygging:)I'm a big fan of your work,i'm sad to hear about that..may allah make it easy for you, lycka till!
Kars, please know it’s not you. Unfortunately because of many of us not being aware of the mask wearing and the detriment of living ‘the fake’ the result is isolation. It’s impossible to have a deep connection with an imposter. I’m asking Allah to guide us on the path of true authenticity so that the umma will be lifted up, be strong and unified. Perhaps then we’ll stop loosing our children to the dunya because of the confusion we bring with all the fake games of the 90’s we’re still playing.. having the look, talk etc. Then we go home and our children hear, see and experience..I love my Muslim family, all of you for the sake of Allah. PLEASE let’s truly embrace one another like the family we truly are, as we are and support each other to better, inshallah.
...and what do you know? A new episode from Honest Tea Talk!? That's my evening sorted tonight then ☺️
@Muqadas Omg 😱 You frightened me with that profile pic! 😅. What was wrong with the sunset? I guess everyone will now know sister Muqadas is not one to be messed with 💪😅
Omg subhanAllah, u have hit the nail on the head regarding how sisters "appear to fit into a club". Having to look and talk in a certain way to get access. SubhanAllah this is exactly what I'm seeing. I've never fit into that type of group of sisters and now I just can't be bothered to even try. But u have confirmed what I thought I was always seeing.
Sometimes that has been overt too. I used to attend a masjid where the leadership decided to ban non hijabi women from participating on or volunteering with the interfaith outreach committee. And they meant women who choose to not wear hijab outside the masjid because pretty much all the women were wearing it inside the masjid. They didn't want non Muslims to think women had a choice about wearing hijab or not according to Islamic teaching. I strongly disagreed with this.
I really needed to hear this. Thank you. I have quite a lot of CZcams and Insta followers that keep sending me hate and using Islam as a cover for their rudeness/ insecurity.
Dinaaaaaaaaa ♡
May Allah swt make it easy for u
I think one of the greatest things we can ever do as women, is to uplift other women. Our sisters. Instead of looking at other people's blessings, we have to understand the honor that we have been given as well as celbrate the honor and blessings that other women amongst us have been given. This is how we empower our women. This is how we empower ourselves.
Can we please have more episodes? These make my week and it would mean so much to me if we got more Honest Tea Talks!! Like if you want two episodes a week!
Yaay💃💃 i knew Na'ima B will be on one of the episode in season 2..i just had that feelings🥰🥰😁
Running with sisters, this brings up such powerful imagery for me. ❤️ this to me is what community is in its true sense
I definitely agree that women supporting each other is the best thing we can do for each other. And be there for your friends with no judgement. Just listen and be supportive and empathize. And help in any way you can.
Sister Na’imah’s book changed my life. Really illuminating to hear this discussion, will give it a few listens to process and soak it up. ☺️
Jazaki’llahu khayrun to our beloved Honest Tea Talk ❤️
Azeezat Adeola A B A whats the name of the book
Hanan Mahamed ‘From My Sisters’ Lips’
Ma Sha Allah sisters keep doing what you are doing
SubhanAllah thank you all so much for such an inspirational episode.
As someone who hasn’t grown up with the sphere of support around me, a sisterhood is something that I have yearned for a while.
As I become increasingly aware of myself psychologically, emotionally and spiritually, I try to build wholesome and fulfilling friendships especially with my Muslim sisters.
Even though everybody may not have the same intentions, I strive to be supportive and sympathetic to almost signal to them that I am open for a friendship.
I am yet to build this sisterhood but as Sumayah said, I will keep holding out and InShaAllah, one day I will be surrounded with them.💝
May Allah preserve our Sister Na'ima B Robert.! She has been a virtual inspiration for me for many years since listening to her poetry on CZcams. Finally went on Amazon and purchased 3 of her books... please support our sisters and their work if you see value in their message!! Allah guide us all. Jazakamullahu khairan
Thank you so much. Such a needed reminder in today’s world. Us sisters need to come together. Please do an episode about relationships of mother and daughter especially the difficult one due to culture differences.
#sisterhood still waiting for mine. This show has kept me grounded to listen to you all and your voices gives me peace and it keeps me strong in my Deen may Allah bless you and your family
I haven’t too in shall Allah we will someday.
I really needed to watch this episode. I also ordered the book. Thank you so much.
Salaam Sisters. I am in awe. I feel free. I feel energised. This show is absolutely amazing. I have binged watched all of season 1 and catched up on 2 this week. These conversations are amazing. These conversations are inspirational. I pray and pray that sisters stop their jealousy and embrace more love and support. This is what we need.
''Find your people, hold up to them.It might take time....''!!!!!
Jazzakumulah Kheiran sisters this was an amazing episode!!
The sisterhood displayed in this episode was AMAZING! Honest Tea Talk has been such a blessing in my life! I do not have any Muslim sisters in my community that I am able to call friend. Watching these episodes & following Solace on fb has really helped to fill a void!
Alhamdulillah have been waiting for this episode! May Allaah reward you all with great reward Ameen. You guys set such beautiful example of how true sisterhood should be! Love love love this episode it's like sisters finally speaking my language so refreshing Alhamdulillah. You guys make a huge difference in my life. May Allaah allow you to continue to make this difference in sisters lives.

13 hours and we have 107, May Allah reward you immensely my sisters
Amazing.! May Allah reward each of you for bringing to light and discussing the subjects that not a lot of Muslims in the community are willing to talk about. Jazak Allah Khirun .
Sister Aliyah always says the right thing at the end of the talk. MashaaAllah. More power and May Allah bless you all. 💕
This segment keeps getting better and better mashaa allah ... Ignore the haters , I actually look forward to each and every segment subhaanallah

This series is literally a sister's version of 'madting'! Found the series just few days ago, Alhamdulillah it's one of the best series i ever came across on CZcams! Wish i could partake in such amazing, enlightening conversations! ❤️
P. S. I live in Bangladesh.
Villager here! 😁🖐 thankyou ladies for yet another great episode! OMG CANNOT WAIT FOR NEXT WEEK'S EP😱😱😱😱😱
As salam aleykoum to all my sisters !! I'm watching HTT from France and I'm loving it ! I'm a revert too and I really recognized myself in Naima's talk it was empowering to see how muslims women can really make a change... I do not feel alone on my religious journey and that is really important to me to feel support and to be supportive also, it is so easy to put a smile on a sister's face honestly 🥰 I loved how you women focused on the advantages of supporting each others and not on the ones who never support ! Love you all and I love this show, i'll recommend it to my friends even if I need to traduct it 😄 it is a show that I can watch with my non muslim mom who loved it by the way !! May Allah bless you all and grant you with peace !
My apologies if I did some english mistakes haha thank you for reading this
Asalamualykum sister, I'm form London but im interested in moving to France, which city would you recommend for me sister? Thank you
@@iloveallah9853 alaykum salam sister, well it depend on what you are looking for in a city ? I just want to warn you with the fact that in France muslims are not included as much as in London... is such a different mentality... Personnally I lived in Toulouse, which was a nice city. I more of a south of France person 😆 i really do looove sun ! Paris is a really beautiful city but it is soooo expensive, and its stressful a bit. You have Lyon also, I heard there was a big muslim community there, and a good vibe too. Montpellier is a student city I don't know if it means something in english, but its really great, you have the beach near by and people are really openminded ! And then I could present to you Marseille, well its great but it is really poor type of city... I heard about how Lille was great but it is in the North so not the same weather (more like the london type of weather) !! I lived in London for the first 5 years of my life, and for the muslims I do think its better (you dont find easily a job with the hijab in France...). But I like France because of the rights you have, health care, free school... This is great I cannot complain ! If you want to come and have a look of France I will be honoured to have you as my guest insha'Allah ❤ if you need anything sent me a mail : nora.coudoux@gmail.com
@@nounousheks thank you for your wonderful and informative reply sister 😊 I also heard about how good Lille is but I'm not so sure how it is living there as a young Muslim woman who wears jilbaab, i definitely will be coming to France soon inshallah as some of my close family live in Belgium I'm always travelling to Europe, I will definitely get in touch with you 😊
@@iloveallah9853 inshallah I'd love to see you there, i'll make you practice your french 😆
@@nounousheks thank you so much sister and I definitely need some to practice with 😄
Masha Allah really enjoy it. watch it with my sisters at home can not wait for the next episode Insha Allah. Jazak Allahu Khair for you struggle.
Allahumma barik guys that was amazing! May Allah reward you all, it was amazing to see how you all support each other as woman, I mean this platform that you've created is a testament to that! As women we do need to stop seeing each other as competition and more like sisters, in the work place, family life, in our successes and even through hardship. and what an amazing ending reminder to leave conversations with other sisters wanting to empower them. May Allah make us of those who are able to support each other after Allah and make us successful. Ameen
Very happy I came across this page, May Allah swt reward you sisters
Thank you for your work, for your support, for your love
Loved this episode, so much love and joy in the environment ❤️ ! Love ya my sisters keep up the good work. And sister Na’ima’s passion for sisterhood is truly inspiring x . May Allah bless you all.
Thanks for another great episode, can’t wait for the next one 👍
Subhanallah how did they manage to do it yet again?? Like for real! Every episode just gets better and better mashaAllah tabarakaAllah, again- CZcams’s comment section is merely not enough to express the impact Honest Tea Talk has! May Allah continue to bless this, the beautiful sisters & the rest of our ummah ameen ❤️❤️❤️
You always uplift my confidence. Alhamdullilah, thanks.
Sisters you are amazing! And this was a very important discussion as it is also issues we face in our small community. It hard not to be jealous when you see others succeeding but I always feel like if my Sisters are winning then I am winning too! Everyone has their time we just have to grab hold of it when it arises and run with it.
You beautiful woman give us the real Honest Tea today. Thank you ☕️💚
Powerful conversation with powerful women keep moving forward ladies
Love this episode! We cannot have this conversation too much. Let's empower each other. Always! May Allah reward you all! Ameen!
Masha Allah.... much needed talk sisters...May Allah reward u all.
Waaw that was great n Mashaa Allah am feeling good for the sisterhood support ❤️❤️❤️ can't wait for the next episode honest tea talk is life honestly
ASA sisters, your conversations are so healing for the ummah. Unfortunately many of our communities , all over the world, are still behaving like that of the 90’s. Wearing the masks, concerned with the look, talk etc. so pious we bearly salaam each other, especially if we don’t socially know one another. What the heck is that ? Please have this sister back on again. Her honesty and frankness is so needed. Also We need to hear more about functional resolutions we can actually put into play within our communities NOW. We’re loosing our children with all this fake ness and pretending we’re holier then thou and pretending and presenting in public like everything is hunky dory behind closed doors within our beings and families because we’re Muslim. We hurt and are angry etc because... you name it and those emotions definitely need acknowledgment and healing. Please continue to talk more about the how around resolving these concerns. Also, PLEASE incorporate brothers into the conversation more like you did with the Imam. For the most part, we’re craving a true healing so that our communities are authentically wiser, stronger and whole. May Allah continue to bless you all and give you the courage and ease to truly feed and nurture the ummah. Ameen
We muslim women are blessed to have you, sisters, alhamdulillah. Jazaakillahu khair for putting this amazing work! May Allah bless you always
Am Soo inspired of your honest talk's I really need your help
Thank you for sharing this ❤️❤️❤️, learnt so much. May Allah love and protect you all ladies 💕
Come onnnnn! This is what I’m talking about!!! ❤️
JazakAllahu khair
SubhanAllah from 15.00 and onwards u are talking about the revert sisters that I know. Its so sad, but alhamduillah this is being addressed publicly! They make u feel so uncomfortable because of their own insecurities, when it's them that need help or are dealing with a bag of issues inside of their homes... Making u feel like you are the odd one out, when really and truly we are the ones who know how to manage our personal issues and balance things in life.
Love this!! Can Naima be a permanent guest on the show? Love the way she adds to the mix and her perspectives.
I feel like crying a bit. I really loved this episode :')
Sooo energetic 🙌may Allah reward u all my sisters😍love from Pakistan 🇵🇰❤️
Currently reading the sisters book 😩❤️ loveeeee this platform 🙌🏽

Hanan Mahamed it’s called from my sisters lips
MaShaAllah. This is such a beautiful episode. I’m so happy you featured sister Naima. I love finding Muslims authors who are good at their craft, it makes supporting them even more sweet.
Mash allah Muslim sisters aliyah sumayah layinka i really appreciated you for the great episode's and I loved your channel thanks sisters from Somali 🇸🇴
Mashallah i was waiting for this episode. I think Aliyah summed it up well for me ultimately sisters supporting one another is about uplifting one another with good words and advice to make one stronger. It's about delivery a postive message and inspiring one another. Most importantly its about not judging one another . And just seeing the human side of women because often we are each others worst eniemies by being quick to judge. Just allow women to be women without the fear of judgement
I love this episode MashaAllah! May Allah reward you all
You guys are a part of My Crew now. 💖
I love 'from my sister's lips', first read it in my teen years and It opened my eyes.
Ohhh Masha Allah I found her so inspiring,I love Nikab and Alhamdulillah I'm wearing it by the blessing of Allah.
Nikab isn't Islamic.
I love niqab too and I wear it too Alhamdulilah:)))

As salaam Alikuma, Beautiful sister. I start watching your CZcams show last year during Ramadan. It really helped me during a hard time in my life. I was able to look within myself deeper and let Allah heal me with in. So I thank Allah for sisters like you. We need this more in the Muslim community. May Allah continue to bless you all. Ameen
MashAllah tabbarakAllah sisters wat a beautiful topic its..i luv it jazaakAllahu khair sister's

Wow I love naima b Robert's. I read her book years ago and then 4 years ago I got to meet her and even see her beautiful face mashallah inspiring sister. Mashallah thess talks are so inspiring we need more well done ladies.
I really enjoyed the episode, we really don’t have enough good role models in the community so thankyou for empowering us all by inspiring us by just by having the show and also with talking openly about issues that affect us all alhumdulillah!
We do without a doubt live in a very male dominated environment , we have more barriers than most people to overcome but so did people before us like the early muslims, well known activists, game changers, may it make us stronger ameen. We also should definitely give other sisters more love and opportunities, we should be the freind we would want for ourselves.
Jzk for all your hard work and effort sisters x
As Salam, Mash Allah, finally a Muslim woman speaking /a Muslim womans point of view out straight, as a Muslim woman I'm proud.
First time watching, I must say you sisters hit the nail on the head, Amazing job sisters may Allah reward you abundantly. The subscribe button is a must ❤️💕💕💕
Love you sister's❤❤...we need this platform and conversation as a muslim women
mashALLAH these sisters are the energy i need every day may ALLAH bless them
This is one of the interesting discussion I heard. May Allah reward my Sisters
Djazak Allahu khayr for this reminder (working on building sisterhood)
I really like the episode. Is it possible for you to do one episode on "people using each other"
yes i agree with u, i sincerely think that should be addressed,i learn in a school of mixed races bt i tend to have christian friends because of the way muslim girls behave with each other, it is really upsetting bt i love them for the sake of Allah ,and sister the best thing you can do is say no and confront them , thank you
Alhamdulilah.. Jazakallahu khayr for that conversation of a Muslimah's point of view excellent talk.. MashaAllah ta ala..
Mashallah 💜💖
We need to take all the shame from the community then we can all come together instead of judging I think this is the main issue if we all had surported each other we can encourage each other ❤️💚💜
Really thoughtful conversation. Sisterhood in Islam is soo beautiful.
May Allah bless you all. I love this episode; it is extremely relatable❤
