The first mistake they made with Ten Hag, was not keeping Rangnick to help with the Footballing side of things.
Ten Hag said he didn’t want to work with him
I said the same thing. We needed someone who can build a team, I was shocked he was let go
@@WatchTheClipsFilm-TvI thought Rangnick left on his own? He’s lucky he’s not part of this mess tho
Ten Hag didn't want to work with him even refused to meet him when he came over to England to watch United play before he officially took over.
Letting Rangnick go was united biggest mistake
Hearing that Jude Bellingham turned down Man United to sign for B.Dortmund is even more evidence showing how intelligent he is for such a young man.
Yep. If he signed for Man Utd his max potential would have been to just become another Rashford. Rashford is a good player once in 10 matches and let’s be honest, if Man Utd sacks him no other big clubs would want him
That's because Man Utd care more about the business/financial side than the football side, they want to sell shirts and gain additional social media clout. Man Utd might as well cease to be a Football Club and focus on being a modelling agency, because that's all they care about; marketing the players
The problem is we don’t build teams, we just buy players and expect them to fit
Maguire: Can’t play in a high line because he’s not good the speed or athleticism to stop counter attacks. Ole knew he wanted to play a high line eventually, why sign him?
Pogba: Got into the world 11 playing on the left with 3 other midfielders at Juve. This is because he’s good going forward but not going back. We sign him and play him in a 2 in the 4231 formation. Why did Jose sign him?
Mount: won the champions league basically as a left number 10. He is similar to Bruno. As soon as this signing was announced idk anyone who didn’t say it wouldn’t work because they are too similar and the midfield would be exposed. Why did Ten Hag sign him?
That’s 3 players from different managers who haven’t worked, despite them doing good at other clubs. If Bellingham and Haaland joined, they would have never been as good as they are now. Club seriously needs to change, especially behind the scenes
Spot on.
Exactly, look at city. They’re everything United want to be, they spend money sensibly and spend it on players they need and players that fit their system instead of just spending big money on overrated players. And city have a owner that cares, the glazers have never cared about the club.
Because Mount can offer things Bruno perhaps can't he was signed as a replacement for Erickson but yet, here is Erickson before mount despite having a similar injurie.. coming to United isn't about the club for players anymore it's about the paycheck.
It's unfair to judge Mount after being injured most of the season, but admittedly, he wasn't great in the games he played. I agree with most of what you are saying, but not that he's too similar to Bruno if you look at pre season and the first couple of games of the league. He played on the left in sort of Eriksen's role in front of Casemiro and pushed Rashford more forward like he was last season. Mount is also better defensively, so I think on paper he is suited for Bruno. You are also right that most fans weren't happy about his signing, but that's more to do with them crayon eaters having a 5-minute memory because he was injured last season. I think he could be a top player for United.
Bro pogba was good at juve pls don’t blame him for united’s defensive frailties. Also, unless u play 4-3-3 you aren’t a top end club
What Liverpool did well in summer was they went out and bought players with the right personality; Szobozlai and Endo both captain their countries. They have leadership qualities and a stellar reputation with their teammates. It seems like Man United tend to forget the importance of this when they're recruiting.
It’s not about leaders, modern football has moved on. You’re telling me if Burnley had more leaders, they’d win the league? It’s about talent and fitting in the right system. Man City and Liverpool have done it better than most in the league over the last 7/8 years. They have recruited good players who match the managers system
@@WatchTheClipsFilm-Tvwhy create a strawman argument? Liverpool and United are both looking at players of similar technical qualities. If you have the choice to sign players with a captain's mentality over those that don't, what are you going to do? What has Liverpool done?
Rio bangs about prime United and how you had leaders everywhere. Sure, Keane wore the armband but there wasn't a Sancho or pogba personality in sight.
@@lukemclellan2141 but for me it’s lazy to say Man Utd aren’t good because they have no leaders or personalities that people don’t like. Having leaders help, definitely. But I don’t think Liverpool are first and Man City are second because they have the most leaders or Roy Keane type characters in the league. They are on top because they have the best managers, best players, best scouting department, and most money than other teams in the league (especially Man City)
@@WatchTheClipsFilm-Tv everything you said is true.
I can't help but think that there's something up at United though. Similar thing at Chelsea since tuchel left. Spurs and arsenal both suffered from a strange air in recent history too.
The recruitment has most definitely been terrible, so Jamie isn't entirely wrong, but it's also true that great players (Di Maria, Falcao, etc.) have gone to Man United and tanked in form overnight, only to recover it when they've moved elsewhere.
Both those players you mentioned recovered their form in the french league
@@mattkhannaDi Maria is good so don’t do that .He dominated against a team like France and is making the Portuguese league look like a farmers league .
@@mattkhanna di maria was a success in la liga hazard wasn't 😂
Falcao dropped off before he got to United, recovered for a season or two then withered.
The faults are players like Dan James, Swinsteger, Schniderlin, Holjlund, etc. Overpaid and not right fit.
@@JohnCarter-gb8evHazard was overweight and injury prone when he joined Madrid
Gary missed the third reason a player might sign for a club - the wages. Which I believe is the current issue with a lot of the players there at the moment.
Spurs fan and I totally agree - I think of Onana for sure, leaving an already great Inter side for this MUFC? Eriksen as well, truly love him but why is he still there?
@@cjetrainblimey after being president of the USA he went on to play for Inter?
He didn’t at all, he said at the beginning of his statement that FFP would holt this being a huge pulling factor for Man U next season
@@cjetrainI agree the wages are an issue, especially with United. But Onana is a bad example, he's 'only' on 100k, and Eriksen is not on the highest wages either.
Problem is the club is all over the place, they say they want to sort the wage bill out but completely undermine that sentiment when they offer Rashford 375k a week
It’s always been the issue. Look at what they gave Alexis
this must've been so hard for Keane and Neville to admit. It does feel like quite a poignant moment in the future of Manchester United.
They speak about players brought and bought recently.. but not a single word against Rashford who is a disastrous player, McTominay who is a poor man's Fellaini who is barely average in front of goal but non-existent in the midfield, Shaw who is extremely injury prone and when present lacks concentration and has been here far too long, will not take us to the next step. AWB, a player who is extremely suspicious at times not cut for the high level of a club of this magnitude. These pundits always protect the academy and British players. Total lack of transparency.
McTomminay is a solid player and can play different positions. That being said don’t think he should be first team but definitely deserves a place in the squad
Since Rashford got into the first team, not a single striker has scored over 15 goals in the Prem. Van Persie fell off, Ibrahimovic couldn't do it, Ronaldo couldn't do it, etc
@@haiderpervaiz2969 Scott’s a squad player you through on in the last 10 looking for a goal, he hides from the ball has less passes than anyone and is not a defensive midfielder, can crash the box and score but is missing those at present so he offers nothing not even a pressing machine
Going in on Shaw is crazy
@@TheOfficialOrangeManShaw is another one that needs to go, plays 2 games and then injured for the next 5-7. Needs to be shipped out as well. Club needs to be ruthless and stop protecting these overpaid players.
In regards to Jamie's question about the manager, and it applies to players too, I think those with big mentalities, passion and drive will be the ones to join United. Of course there'll be the pull of the manager or players at the club, but as low in quality as United get they'll always be one of the biggest names in football and of course you'd prefer to join a City or Liverpool who are playing well and winning titles but the allure of being the signing that brought glory back to Man United is something that will always be there.
They need to start winning games, and stop not winning games. Maybe try to score more goals than they concede.
You should be a pundit
Michael Owen is that you
Wow the code has been broken
This is spot on football genius
@JB-nu4oy footballs a simple game. But that's hard to do. Those that get what op said know he Is " out the matrix" neo type like early mourinho
If I was a player I wouldn’t come to United unless I was towards the end of my career and looking for a big contract, and that’s exactly the type of player United need to be avoiding
See: Eriksen, Maguire (and refusal to leave), Varane…
Casimeiro
at any point over the last 10 years i would agree with you - but there is genuine positive change happening at the club as of 2024, now is perhaps the best time to join utd. Stocks are low, invest now.
The players need to be bought based on work rate, skill and personality, too many players have been bought with one of these missing it’s not acceptable for a club like united!
If Maguire went Man City he’d do better because he wouldn’t have to defend
He'd have a lot of protection. Walker & Gvardiol either side, Rodri in front
People don’t have to defend on the bench.
Jamie sat between Roy Keane and Gary Neville saying Sir Alex Ferguson won everything just because he bought best players.... Of course he had good players but they were not all the absolute best around. Just buying the best players does not automatically mean you mean it all. Some of the signings under ETH have not been great but if exclude loan deals, only one maybe Antony. And if his price was what scouts valued him at, would not be as bad. Although still waiting for him to turn up - been almost 18 months. Mount not good so far but been injured. Martinez has been good, Casemiro was good last season - not this season but been injured. And not ETH fault the crazy wage he is on. Hojlund was a lot for young player but too early to say. Onana had dodgy start but think is solid keeper
Tenhag has a net spend more in his two seasons than the whole time klopps been at Liverpool.
Also more points
Due to Utd unable to sell players
Never ending cycle post Fergusson era of ManUtd
I genuinely think any player in world football could join Man Utd at the current time and it would absolutely bury them. Including Mbappe etc
As long as diving whinging Bruno is in that team they are going nowhere
Their “captain” lmao
Wow - Amazing admissions from Roy and Gary regarding advising players to come to MU.....But it's true!
Look at all the players that have left Klopp/Liverpool, they have been useless, it’s the system & coach that’s the key, players want to play for Klopp & Pep to make them better
I hate saying this cause I adore the player but imo the balance will never be okay with Bruno
How is Jamie Redknapp still employed as a pundit? He offers nothing!
99% of pundits add nothing they’re just ex players who know nothing and just talk out their ass

Sir Ratcliffe should ask font of all football knowledge Gary 'the Oracle' Neville to help in an advisory position, with all his experience he has gained with Salford FC and ex Spanish giants Valencia he will be a valuable acquisition to the team.
Love Ten and the footballing powers at this club. Keep up fantastic work plz
"Buy bettah playaz" - Jamie Redknapp offers little as a pundit. He can never expand on his initial thought ever, and gets stuck so repeats it.
He offered little as a player, too. Unless you were a doctor or physio. 🤕
Nearly half the great players ManU had were from their academy/home grown they didn’t have to buy them. Fergie then added some quality outsiders. Where are the local stars now?
@@getheroutofthetruckvery nice!
The ultimate change Sir Jim needs to do is completely overhaul the footballing structure & employ the best in class to run the club how it should be run but even that will take time cos the mess they've gotta clean up. Dan Ashworth & Paul Mitchell are needed to improve going forward in recruitment with far better strategic planning for the long term in place. A vast clear out of players is needed aswell although that won't be as straight forward process due to their criminally high wages but over a period of time hopefully majority of these players have been booted out. It's gonna take time & patience but we will get there.
These bots are wild man...
Been watching these types of videos on United for 5+ years and FA has changed
Dalot killed it at left back
Dortmund fans rated Sancho more so than Bellingham or at least their time at the club so to answer Gary’s question, Jude Bellingham had he joined Man Utd would have been a massive flop until he moved clubs if he even played at all because he was 16/17 and because of the fact he can get angry and stroppy with teammates, his character would’ve been assassinated just like Sancho.
Get your facts right ..
Bellingham was with England U18 and England senior ..
Sancho was sent Home during international games even before the tournament started due to disciplinary problem like drinking / partying / skipping training
Working hard or not ,Sancho played like crap the entirety of last season and not much better when he played this season. You can't blame that only on the coach...@@coreyboachie
@@nihlify do you mean g/a or performances because he doesn’t have the g/a of a crazy season but he played well in fact when he came back the only pl games we lost (4) where the ones he didn’t start.
Erik Ten Hag screwed things up for this season by overplaying all the players last season. He did not keep an eye out for how the next season would play out. Kicking out De Gea for Onana didn't help. Mount has not made any impact since joining. Also I have to mention I don't think his man management is up to the mark - Sancho, Varane, etc. Nevertheless he still deserves another chance next season however this season ends. Hopefully he can learn from his mistakes along with Sir Jim Ratcliffes new leadership group at the helm. Thank God the previous regime is not going to be running things.
They did play a lot of games tbf and a WC aswell.
Getting Joao Neves for 100 (or 60) million, Bardghji for 40 mill and Olise for 60 mill is the answer (Olise would improve Utd, but Kubo or Bakayoko would be better IMO). Never mind there are better (more suitable) options available for far less. The positions Utd need to address IMO: CB, LB, two 8/10s, a LW, a RW. Recs: Todibo/Schlotterbeck/Ajer/Zabarnyi (for CB); Doughty/Raum/H. Bueno (Wolves), A. Robinson (Fulham)/Ait Nouri; Mathias Jensen/J. Brandt/Alex Scott (Bournemouth) (for right 8/10); Jobe Bellingham/Eze/Z. Amdouni/Bellegarde (for left 8/10); Jack Clarke/Mitoma/Odobert (for LW); Kubo/Johan Bakayoko/Marcus Tavernier/Edon Zhegrova/Harry Wilson (for RW). Get Joao Pedro or Solanke if selling Martial
ETH is a transition manager like Mark Hughes at City. Hughes had Jo, Robinho and Santa Cruz in first season with a war chest. Ok he did find Zab and Kompany but these first managers to super owners never last.
I am a United fan for life. I would not want to play for this club if I were a football player. This club is a total disaster, and it would take at least 5-10 years to get back to a comparatively healthy financial situation, let alone fight for big titles. It is Liverpool No. 2, and it will not surprise me that United will NOT win the league title before 2040, i.e. not winning the title for 30 years.
I’m sure United’s financial situation is more than healthy. Else why would they throw 85m at a player their own staff valued at no more than 25m? Why would they give Casemiro a 5 yr deal on huge wages? Why would they be paying an injury prone Varane such huge wages? There is no one with footballing background to counter the Glazers’ half brained ideas and in the end the financial side decides which players need to come in.
2040? Goodness man, you need to chill out
@@NomadJoe0323idk man i actually think that is a reasonable prediction. Certainly wont win it before 2030
@@NomadJoe0323When a club has almost £1b in debts, with its payment due in a short period of time, little income in reality and an urgent need to upgrade its infrastructure at all levels, in addition to all the necessary changes to the managerial level, that's a 10-year project before United can build a competitive first team. That's already 2034 by then. Of course, you can argue that they can go in multiple directions at the same time, but we all know what it takes to rebuild both Old Trafford and Carrington: at least £2-3b for these physical projects, whilst a several hundred million as well as another 3-5 years to rebuild the squad and its culture. I am simply being realistic here. United fans need to learn that it will take a long time to make this club back to the elite level.
To answer Gary's question about Jude - he would have been Sancho-ed if he joined Man utd instead of Dortmund
I'm so glad that Jurgen is a Red. In Klopp i /we trust !!
To me..... Man United looks fine, so far so good. I'm a Liverpool FC fan for life.....
All they need to change. Is the Squad, The Manager, the owners, the stadium and the fans and even I'd support them
That was a fantastic point about Bellingham same could be said about haaland when they tried to sign him from RB
The ideal scenario at any club would be for your best, most consistent players to be the highest earners and the model professionals that inspire the rest.
The worst scenario is for your highest earners to be inconsistent, disruptive and frequently unavailable.
Man Utd, unfortunately for their fans, have slumped from the first state to the second in the last decade.
For me, it’s been a case of poor recruitment and a lack of stability and leadership at the club.
Alex Ferguson, obviously, brought solid recruitment, stability and strong leadership to the table but the club perhaps wasn’t structured to cope without him.
Rashford prime example of the second state.
Wish we kept rangnick just for advice on signings... Need to start fresh with young squad set a new culture!!
So why he was there as a coach which it is a mistake ? I always knew that Rangnick make a mistake.

That’s a great point about Bellingham. Spot on!
Jude is a mature young man for his age I respect him massively
They'd all be top managers if they knew
I don’t think Utd do a very thorough check on players before it buys them. Too many have off field issues or problems with discipline. You don’t see Klopp and Pep having those problems.
The recruitment team is sh*t!
lol Ed Woodward and the Glazers just cared about the money coming in and all the commercial stuff and forgot there was a sporting element to it all too. And here we are.
It's like three thousand interviews about a square box.
The first mistake is choosing Sir Alex’s successor. Manchester United weren’t prepared and not convincing enough to lure Pep or Klopp. When they failed to prepare and convince the 2 they went on panicking and end up with Moyes. Moyes is a good manager but Manchester United needs a better a one. Not a good one but a better one. Up to this day we can’t get the better one for the job. Because to be honest, we always come unprepared or go with the hype. And then comes, who will want to manage this club? It very unstable and inconsistent. As a Manchestet United fan it’s frustrating to see. From Sir Alex’s to this.

Every single year we see this same topic come up about Man Utd
Rashford silencing the crowd after a single goal. That clearly tells u what's the mentality. Salah would never do that. If he scores after 6 months he will never do that. Elite mentality
i like Gary Neville, always talks sense
Do United have any scouts??
The players are fine it’s the coaching and culture - Ange would get a tune out of these guys.
As the years go on, the shirt weighs less and less. I'm believing less and less in the shirt weighing these young players down, the club and shirt don't mean that much too them. They don't know, they haven't seen it.
It's simply the scouting. The character of player we go for. I've said it for a while now but City represent what United were. I look at them and how they operate and I see prime Fergie/Gill in how they move. That's why they win so much and why most of the players they buy work.
Doesn’t matter who the manager is if the people above him aren’t qualified to do their jobs, so hopefully that changes with sir Jim’s people. Players are terrible as well, recruitment must be better
It's no good to say that the current crop of players arent good enough. Didnt they say at Spurs or Villa? Whilst Brighton keep selling their best. You absolutely have to get the best out of the players you have. It literally is the only way out of this mess right now.

good players but not world class you would not just sell a world class player like that imagine if Liverpool sold Van dijk and Salah
All managers have failed signings.
On the whole Ten Hag’s signings have been better than those of previous managers but I think the major issue is a poor recruitment network/management. That’s why Ten Hag has had to go in for players he has worked with before.
They really haven't so far.
Antony hasn't shown any signs of being worth half what we paid for him and is a one trick pony. Much like Robben but with 1/3rd the talent. You can't be that one footed and pull the same move every time and expect success in the PL.
Malacia is young and was cheap and seems fine for the money but is nothing special so far.
Casemiro is on the decline and isn't quite up to the pace of the league. Hes also not getting away with the tackles he would have in La Liga when he played for RM so hes missed far too many games for disciplinary reasons. A lot of money for a player like him. Jury is still out overall.
Eriksen. Guy is done at this level. Any midfield with him in the centre is slow and pourous. He can pick a pass but has no engine or bite to him.
Onana is a big upgrade on DDG in the distribution stakes but isn't good enough at actually saving shots. I wasn't expecting peak DDG but he single handedly dumped us out of the CL with the ridiculous mistakes he made.
Mount. Not sure why we bought him but jury is still out. Hasn't played enough to make any real judgement.
Martinez. Absolute top buy....last season. Not sure what happened to him over the summer but he started this year really badly and then got injured. Fingers crossed he can re-find that form of last year.
Hojlund. I really like the look of this lad and I think he could be great but its too early to say. Currently though we paid far too much for him. Has finally started putting the ball in the net in the PL and I hope it continues. Seems to have all the tools you need to succeed but strikers are judged on their numbers so we will see how he looks at the end of the season.
Why do people keep saying maguire chose to join utd? City didn’t want to overpay so he either stayed or joined United.. he never chose utd over city.
Neville’s tone changes when Jamie is on the show
"its the glazers, they left people in place who shouldnt be here". lmao, except the 500 million they gave to Ten Haag and keeping his mate Ole in a job 6 months longer than should have. Gary is the gift that keeps giving.
It’s got nothing to do with the quality of the players, it’s the culture at the club. Good players like Sancho have gone bad.
I think Gary, Roy and Jamie are right, at this moment in time…
For 2 years
'New ownership at the club now'???
Having 25% of something now constitutes owning it 🤨
Gary 'to be fair' Neville
It's not that complicated, really. United (for the most part) have been buying aging stars instead of investing in young talent. Even a player who has been great his whole career but is now 30 can fall off overnight due to injury or motivation (since they've already won it all). United throw money expecting instant success instead of investing in the best young talent. For example, City brought Grealish for 100m and have gotten the best years of his career. Since they have Doku now they will probably sell Grealish this summer and recoup a lot of the original cost. Great business. Buying older stars is a dead end and a terrible investment. Not every young player will work out obviously but unless they have been a complete disaster some of the money can be recouped.
The solution is simple: bring in a world class sporting director and set a long term vision for the club. The manager gets a say but the sporting director and the rest of the recruitment team have the most power on transfers. The manager has his job and the sporting director and recruitment team have theirs.
Evans, Zlatan, Ronaldo, and Cavani are the only players over 30 that United have signed since 2016. I think the opposite: they have spent too much money on young talent that didn't work out.
They’ve been trying to get younger. They signed Antony, Hojund, Mount and been incorporating academy players.
It’s like uniteds scouts only look for technique or athleticism. Mindset and personality isn’t even considered it seems.
Gary, We do not have a new owner ship. We have a Glazier/INEOS partnership..which is 75% Glazer heavy….still doomed to fail
I think Eric Tenhag’s failure at Man United so far is down to him being Dutch. Living in the Netherlands, I noticed that appreciating, motivating employers or colleagues is missing in their culture and United’s inconsistencies could be due to this.
Yeah it happened with Johan Cruyff as well didn't it...😏
Players getting paid 300k a week should be motivating themselves and others whilst also setting personal goals…this is the problem when you have a bunch of overpaid players, they’ve been rewarded for doing nothing basically.
Same debate every time Man Utd play on Sky Sports 😴😴😴😴
Youth recruitment and development, their greatest period in modern times was with a cohort of home grown players.

People seem to think that Sir Jim coming is gonna change things it really doesnt because Glazers are still in charge and call all the shots
INEOS literally have 100% control of football operations. Its written in the agreement.
Think about it - why would the glazers want to be involved in such decisions? They have their dividends and none of the responsibility, its ideal situation for them.
