    • @tolkienfan10
      @tolkienfan10 Před 5 měsíci +30

      It's a little more complicated than that. You're not taking into account the United tax, for instance. United have spent more because they are Manchester United, they are expected to spend more when buying players which is why selling clubs can ask for more whereas in contrast, if Spurs are interested and if the player is interested, the odds are that they'll get them for a lesser price. Spur's will still spend big compared to most other EPL clubs and most other overseas clubs aside from Real, Barca, Bayern and PSG and they'll be subject to the EPL tax because selling clubs will know that because they are an EPL club, they'll have money to spend but it still won't be the type of cash United will have to spend and the selling clubs know this.

    Redknapp is 100% correct and it is beyond frustrating how many United fans don't want to accept it. Sure, problems go deeper than the manager. But look at what Ange has done in such short amount of time. Changed the team's identity on the pitch completely. They may not always play great or win but they don't play horrid, non cohesive nonsense that we do even when more than half of their squad is out. The worst thing is, Ten Hag has spent so much money, he the freedom to pick players more than almost any manager in the sport, was backed financially more than any United manager post SAF and somehow we're in a WORSE state than we were before. 100% should have been sacked already but we will never learn.

      @matthewreynolds4382 Před 5 měsíci +1

      Never learn? You've sacked 6 managers in 10 years since Fergusson and nothing has changed at all. Sacking Ten Hag would be the precise definition of 'never learning'.
      Your problems are with whoever is making the transfer decisions and the process used to make those decisions. Fix that, you start bringing the right players in, and you'll get results. All this Man Utd talk about owners, managers, you're forgetting that when you play a football game, it's your 11 blokes on the pitch that matter. And Man Utd's 11 blokes are utter tripe in the context of the amount spent, and that is incontestable when you really think about it.

    It’s always always the deeper problems with Manchester United. We all know that it’s there. What Jamie Redknapp wants us to know is why is Ange doing what he wants in 6 months time while ETH has been there for a season and a half and there is nothing to show us for. Even the style of play. That’s what he meant. He’s comparing managers. Both teams suffers setback, injuries. So why does Ange has a style of play in 6 months while the other has none for a season and half. That’s it.

When United lose, ten hag takes all the blame and abuse from the media. Threatened with the sack every other week by the media. It’s the club Keane captained of course when there’s a witch-hunt to get the manager out, the player in Keane wouldn’t be having it and that’s what he’s doing here. If only we had that leadership on and off the pitch. Not keanes fault everyone gets so worked up about United results. If spurs were that good they’d have won the game. Otherwise why didn’t they?

Bentancur was his man for the second equaliser and he stopped tracking him and he ran into open space on the D where he was defending absolutely nothing. He was tracking Bentancur all the way until Bentancur came short and then Bruno just decided not to bother continuing to track him or put himself between Bentancur and the goal.

Just like you provided context for United saying they’re ‘not at their best’ and it’s ‘just about surviving’ you should do the same for spurs. They’re missing several key players and only a few months into a new project and still played United off the park. They also have a style of play which ten hag hasn’t managed to implement despite being in the job for 18 months. @@jimmyf1446 well of course Spurs were knackered, I'm not debating that. But you can't refute the impact of Martinez, you clearly saw the difference in play style when he came in to play. He plays line breaking passes like Varane and Evans can never play. He also wouldn't have allowed Bentancur to shoot when he scored, Evans made it too easy for him. And United didn't have a lot of players to bring in either, Mctominay and Antony aren't really much better than Bryan Gil.

    not all the players can play the way ETH wants to play... when they do try and play that way they get caught out... so now, the manager is having to adjust his tactics and style... but its rather gone unnoticed that by the end of the game those Spurs players were run through... if Scott scores that header the Spurs players would not have had the legs to come back... lets not forget, once Martinez came on the Spurs goal threat subsided significantly...

    ETH has spent 400m and is playing Oleball.

    Ange is doing what ETH did last year. Stop giving these half season coaches this praise love ETH for doing what he's already done. His style of play went out the window when the players he brought in to improve that style of play were injured or the players who were there last season went out injured or in a couple players haven't performed. His style falters when his lead CB is out and he's stuck with a guy he tried to sell and a 35yr old he brought in for back up. When he's relying on an unproven 18yr old in CM. This is going to be like Liverpool season last year, where they had so many missing they just couldn't cope.

If you compare utd to Liverpool who have been at the top with city for 3 years you've already lost .. utd after 1 season and a few injuries and your comparing them to Liverpool from last season who dipped after 3 or 4 years of great football and winning the major trophies? Logic ?
