Jose's 2018 man united rant comes back to haunt them
"In 2 years Winning the community shield. Winning the cup. Winning the Europa league. Last season and playing an FA cup final while getting 2nd place in a season where we beat Liverpool at home. City Away. Chelsea at home. Tottenham at home and arsenal twice. Getting 81 points which no one has done since mister Ferguson is the greatest accomplishment in my career in English football. And one day when I leave. The next man united managers will have a hard time winning the trophies I won and reaching those 81 points. When I was the united player's age I was nobody in football. I was somebody's son. And now at 55 years old I am what I am and I am in the books because of work
Because of my talent and because of my mentality so no way I'll change my mentality and become a puppet. No way "

First of all, Conte will leave behind an amazing winning squad when he leaves and his problem has always been the higher-ups who won't support his transfer plans, and the reason he will leave a club. Mourinho on the other hand, will alienate everybody (fans, owners) and destroy the team mentally to the point where it takes them months to regain their confidence and doesn't leave, he gets chased out.

I feel like Ralf is making those changes and decisions that are going to hurt in the short term but build that cohesion in the long run which is what all of the ex-players have been asking for. The problems at Man Utd all start at the boardroom & the "young players" like Rashford aren't trying to stand up for the club... there's a lot of issues at the change room behind the scenes along with the board too... the problem here isn't gonna be solved by the new world-class manager. Ralf Rangnick is better much suited as a Football director but also the board will also hold the cards in order to fix this club... we've let go of a big manager like Conte simply because he will challenge the board to break the bank & try to refix the club again. Man United we need a big manager that can build this club like example Luis Enrique or Erik Ten Haag since Zinedine Zidane will not join us. We need a manager that will bring a connection with the board & club at the bottom too. We are in for a long term rebuild process. We just need to try & find a way to rebuild properly since I don't think Pochettino isn't the solution because he has never won anything although the Champions League is up for grabs if we were to exclude the Ligue 1 title & the French Cup

Micah is right, what is the point of having Rangnick managing and then going upstairs. If he develops bad relationships with players as a manager and is in charge of a slide in morale, why would the next manager want to be overseen by him or at the mercy of his advice in the future - just a difficult situation waiting in the wings. Rangnick could have gone straight into some kind of strategic role with Conte as manager, who is respected by players and would have certainly left the place in a better shape than when he arrived. In the meantime, Rangnick could have quietly improved background strategy without the risk of alienating himself from fans and making his and the club's life difficult in the future.

Both Micah and Gary had fair points. The shouting was a little unnecessary though lol. Ultimately Ragnick has walked into a chaos that cannot realistically be resolved by the end of this season. To blame him is to ignore the long term damage caused by the preceding regime. To blame him is to ignore the largely underperforming, overrated playing staff. To blame him is to take the easy route. It doesn't help that the board have undermined him with regard to January acquisitions (See Zakaria, Haidara & Kamara) and some of the players have already undermined him somewhat in the press (See Martial & Lingard). His position is, much like the club itself, an unstable one. I don't believe Ralf will be manager next season, but you have to wonder, with the current disorder, disillusion and disdain pervading everything at United, will any of the findings that he reports to the club even be heeded, or will the board and it's social media vultures present the arrival of the incoming manager as yet another new dawn - a tabula rasa to erase any accountability on the part of the playing staff, the coaching team and those who preside above them.

      Micah had an invalid point
The season was over before it started, Ole shouldn’t have been allowed to continue as Utd Manager after Losing the Europa League….when our board insisted on standing behind him and defending him the season was over then and there. All Rangnick is doing is damage limitation which is fine because there’s nothing left for Utd to fight for this season

@@uchihasendo1041 I think Micah's point is valid. United should have let go of Ole and appointed Conte earlier on. He would have been able to deal with the egos in that dressing room and gave the team a proper direction. People can talk about signing new players but the current united team is full of quality players being mismanaged. The situation is the same with Chelsea under Lampard before he was fired.

It's more the fact that UTD need a manager that has a way of playing a system. Klopp, Pep, Sarri (Ball), Bielsa etc. Some managers have a way of playing and they implement that style of football. UTD have okay players just no system or way of playing.

Honestly it doesnt matter who the manager is. There are players who cant even string 4 passes, takes xtra touches and loses the ball, cant even dribble and cant defend. We need technical players who are comfortable on the ball. Look at how simple city played. They were proactive and were 5 steps ahead of man utd in their attacking approach.
