    Agree with Roy. Ronaldo needs to start the big games, you rest him against lesser teams if you must. Man Utd SHOULD have enough against the bottom half teams to rest Ronaldo if needed but he COULD and likely WOULD be the difference maker against the other big teams. He can't do that if he's on the bench for 70 mins, game is about winning and scoring goals and he does that.
    He's not going to press and as Roy says you must take that into account if you play him, when Ole said Rashford must concentrate on football rather than politics perhaps he felt he wasn't doing the leg work required for the guy who partners Ronaldo?.
    That's the key element here - Ronaldo is the star player at Utd so others (his strike partner especially) must fit around his game to a certain degree.

    • @IamArno
      @IamArno Před 2 lety +11

      Ronaldo needs to play the lesser teams to train the muscles the mind and have games. Bringing him in only to fight the tough games is simply abuse. Imagine only fighting Mike Tyson only and never sparing lesser boxers. When do you test your craft and try things out for the big games. You ask ronAldo do you want to start today. ronAldo in in a different league to others. That's fact. ronAldo wants to do well and doing well does the team well. It goes hand in hand. You don't use Ronaldo for your method, you can't use LIONS. LIONS TELL YOU. ❤️

    • @albertbrammer9263
      @albertbrammer9263 Před 2 lety +5

      It is the weaker teams that Man Utd struggled against. They are the games Ronaldo could turn from draws to wins. Against Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool you need everyone pressing all the time. He alters the tactics you can use.

    • @Chris-i0i0i0
      @Chris-i0i0i0 Před 2 lety +7

      You play Ronaldo against "big teams" in the Prem, and you are effectively playing with 10 men. He can grab a goal from nothing, no doubt, but that is rarely going to win you a game against City, Liverpool or Chelsea because they will blow you away, and right now probably wouldn't even consistently get you the win at West Ham or one or two others. United are playing for Europa League places at best if they can't work out how to get the best from Ronaldo.

    • @shamimmiah700

    "There was never a plan to re-sign him." That's it! Ronaldo was re-signed by circumstance, not based on a plan. It's not his fault that United are struggling, he's not responsible for any of it. However, if you take the risk of re-signing a 36 year old world class player, you've got to have a clear plan on how he'll immediately win you as many trophies as possible. Unfortunately, United's coaching staff don't have the slightest clue on how to integrate him properly on what they had already built, hence Ole got the sack!

    I can see where both of them are coming from tbf. Keane is definitely right that Ronaldo should be starting against teams like Chelsea, you don’t bench someone like that in such an important game. At the same time though Jamie definitely has some good points too that Ronaldo’s been brought back so Man United can win the league, they came second last year and want first and you’re not gonna bring in players like Ronaldo, Varane and Sancho unless you want to win anything and everything that pops up with the league being the primary goal. Either way this is gold 😂

      The fact is we have been here before when we had Zlatan. Weren't gonna win the league, zlatan scored goals but one out of Rashford/Martial was always benched. Now its Ronaldo scoring goals with one out of Sancho/Greenwood always benched.
      That season with zlatan we won trophies like keane is saying could happen with Ronaldo this season but Carrager is saying that in the long term it didnt getus anywhere as we never really got close to winning the league and Rashford nor Martial can play as a 9 properly now. Same way Greenwood could end up not being a proper 9 as he never gets to play there. (Reminds me of Martial) 🤔🤔

They need to buy players “with great potential” at the ages around 20-26 so in the coming years they dominate trophies.
