    I’m proud to say I’ve met this man in person. On a flight to Manchester. I gave him his space and he actually started a conversation with me halfway through the flight. We talked about life, about his kids and his family. Such a genuinely nice man, just one of us. The monster image is pure and utter bullshit

      I have drank in Denis Irwins company and I tell you, he is the must humble guy you would ever meet. His personality in real life is just how I imagined him.
      Out of every sports star/famous person I have ever met, he is easily the most down to earth
      Top player, even better guy!

    Just a testament to the type of person Roy is; Gary asks him his best performance and he’s dreading and straining having to answer that but ask him his worst performance and he can tell you a whole story off the top of his head. What a character. Leaders don’t come much like him anymore.

      he mentioned that it was his ireland performances against Portugal and Holland. its the question I've always wanted to ask him - what did he think was his best Irish performance. its hard to describe just how much he carried his team against portugal at home. People always go on about Holland at home and juve in 99, but at least his team helped somewhat in those games. against portugal he was everywhere, always an option for a pass, having a pop and breaking from midfield, always chasing attackers, appearing from nowhere to clear the lines, and even scored a classic Keane goal. he carried his team that day, a performance that actually deserved all those superlatives they use too often. mesmerising performance.

      For me I was shocked he didn't say Juventus away in Champions semi final and scoring the goal that got us a life line in that game, picking up a second yellow after lazy pass by Blomqvist, which ruled him out of final. He continued still to get Utd to the final. Typical of a what a great captain would do. 👍

      He was an extremely nasty piece of work on the football pitch. Stamped on people, deliberate career ending tackles, vindictive psycho after revenge for things from seasons earlier. But nobody in the world has shorter memories than football fans I guess, even "Carra" gets bigged up these after spitting on a kid.

      He said in the past one of his biggest regrets was going to Celtic instead of Real Madrid as the whole thing about learning a new language/new culture intimidated him a wee bit too much at the time. Thought this would've been his number 1 regret.

They did so well that first season, didn't they finish like 5th or 6th? Then they just went to absolute shit. By the time Keane got them they were languishing in League One.

      @@sairamsriram in sports? I guess Warholm or Haaland right now. But we tend to love our skiers a lot our selfs. Biggest names in general is probably Liv Ullman/Jens Stoltenberg/Kygo/Alan Walker/Morten Harket or similar personalitys. But if you take all our history then Nansen, Heyerdahl, some Viking kings or similar probably would be the most famous.

      Schmeichel wasn't poor at at penalties he saved from Bergkamp in Fa Cup semi final when united was a player down ( Roy Keane was sent off in that match) in the treble season. He also saved from Van Basten in the Euro 92 semi final against Holland, which in the end Denmark won the whole competition

    I grew up watching Arsenal in my early teens looking forward to watching the Arsenal V Man utd games with my dad, and thankful i got to witness the Henry, Viera era (even my younger brother was named after Henry lol) and watching this i have a lot of respect for Roy Keane, even though he was this arch rival it made some of the best memories with my dad and the passion it brought. It was entertainment and brought excitement, and keane just says it how it is speaks his mind! need more people like him. Fantastic footballer and someone who had your back in your team it seemed as he was a tough cookie!
