When Dani says "I don't like TV", I think he actually means "I don't like the ad dictatorship where I can't take all time I want/need to offer the best possible performance".
The immense talent that Danny has is mind blowing. Letting Donny take the deck without worrying is wild
I estimate that Dani knows between 100-200 tricks he can come up with during improvisations. So he can adapt to the room and have a quick answer for each little thing that ruins the plan. If Donny had messed up his deck, he would have found a different trick to do.
Now that I think about it, I wish Donny did, because that first trick he does, he always does it. You can find it on CZcams in different performances, as his opening trick. But if Donny had messed up his deck, it would be interesting to me to see which trick Dani thinks has a similar impact. That would have been a beauty too.

The more I hear about his routine(s), the more impressed I get. Other magic, once I hear how it's done, it fades a little bit. Here it is the opposite!

So, "bad English" was, predictably, also a part of the act. Great guy!
His grammatical mistakes are not part of the act. You can tell he started to learn English later in life. Based on his mistakes, I'd say he didn't start learning English until past his 30s. People who started to learn English earlier than 12-15 years old will have 100% native accent/level. I learned English when I was 18 so I was young enough to master the writing part, but my spoken English has a very noticeable accent. And I make grammatical mistakes here and there.
People older than 50 don't usually manage to learn it, at least to a degree where they would understand what a native speaker says. You truly need youthful memory to learn a new language.
(Some) English native speakers who have never learned another language don't realize how difficult it is.
36:00 What a great interview! And even though Javi is no slouch himself, the admiration for Dani is contagious and it shows even more how good he is as a magician! What Dani describes about muscle memory, is like with anything to become good at, repetition, but thousands and thousands of times, and it is so engrained into his skill set, he can blindly adapt to any situation with any trick, production, slight of hand etc, Which sounds obvious, but what it means is that his mind must be on steroids in the moment, he forces himself to the edge of the cliff and then starts dancing! It truly is a sort of brain power never seen before I think. High voltage high octane agility in the moment, fearless and absolutely smashing ability to control every second of the show by playing with all the variables. Mind blowing!!!
This trick was a home run. People dislike Donny, he was clueless and reckless, but it gave us the confirmation that the deck is not tricked. Or at least what we were led to believe. This gave so much more punch to the first trick, not that it needed it.
Then Dani gets scared of him and decides to change the plan of having him do the ritual, and catches his hand with Grand Master reflexes to retake control of the deck and hands it to Alyson who was awesome and did really work hard to keep up with Dani during the ritual. This also showed how Dani can dodge bullets with the white crane technique.

When Penn&Teller get fooled, they later get to know from Mike Close how it was done, I would had loved to see their faces when Mike told them that he had no real clue this time

I would not allow videos taken of my show because IT can be shown without your permission instead of hiring me to do the show.I did a program for a college youth event. When I discovered they'd taped the show I reminded the host that this was not allowed and she gave me the tape. I found out later that these tapes were shown during meals as entertainment! DANI has given away a LIFETIME of work in 10 minutes. It's like "what do I do now that millions have seen me".When performing The Trick That Can't Be Explained based on OUTS a repeat performance REVEALS the technique because the spectator expects it to be the same. Remember also, that these programs are Re-Run year after year.I'm very happy you won the F.U. Award!

To be in CHARGE of your show, whether it be on stage,TV, or a back yard birthday party is the most important thing I ever read many many years ago. For the most part a GOOD host is happier to let you take charge of when and how the spectators are seated. I always have grown ups sit IN the audience of children whenever possible. I tell them up front, in the unlikely event of a problem;the children are still their responsabilty. I cannot correct a child during the performance. I am the Entertainer not a corrections officer! This also puts the children on the spot because they will more likely be seen if they act out. This also creates a show for the entire audience not just the kids and keeps the "grown-ups" from gathering in the back and talking over your program.A program that bores an audience WILL create problems for everyone including YOU. Be FUN .Have FUN...READ MORE BOOKS!

Look at Donny's stare @19:45. He's obviously a skeptic and someone I would not want to deal with. Seems his day might not have been going so well but he put on his fake professional entertainer happy face. I saw anger behind it - as if he doesn't want to be fooled or even be there unless he gets more spotlight. I felt it as soon as he grabbed the deck. That was very un-cool. It really is a mind blowing trick, especially the way it was performed. I would assume Dani is banned from the casinos because of his ability to manipulate and control. Yes, definitely some Lennart Green influence.

Great information - why is the audio so distorted. You NEEEEeeed ann audio guy instead of just a video guy. If you have red lights - WRONG. Stay below -8dB maybe even -12dB. You're too close to 0dBFS and forfeit headroom. Why cut to the mic on the camera on the wide shot to Dani when the close mic sounds so much cleaner. This is the video editor NOT understanding audio. Please, get an audio guy.

It's clearly what he is saying about the trophy. Basically is like telling a soccer player that he should be proud of scoring a goal in a game he was invited with figures such as CR7, Neymar and Romney and he had to explain his name is Messi..
I think Donny Osmond was playing a skeptic for show rather than for real. There's just no way he'd get invited to the show and try to expose a trick in the first seconds. Like if the deck was all aces or something, is he gonna call that out? No way. I think it was his misguided attempt at trying to help.
I think the consensus is that Donny was clueless about magic and magicians and he thought he was totally allowed to check the deck.
Remember that the show is about trying to figure out how the tricks are done, and when Donny heard he was going there to sit next to Penn and Teller, he genuinely thought his role was to help them catch him. It wasn't malicious at all, the was just trying to help Penn and Teller.
This is obviously awful because the number 1 rule in magic is that the spectator can't touch the magician's stuff without permission. But us clueless muggles just don't know about this rule, and we see magicians' acts as a duel to see if I can be fooled or not, so it's fair game to point out what we do catch.
Osmond doing that was just ridiculous. You don’t ever touch the cards unless you’re told to do so. Could’ve ruined the trick!

Es una decisión comercial. Y no lo juzgo. Cualquiera que se encontrara en una situación donde tiene más valor económico hablar en inglés, muy probablemente lo harían.
