Omg, teller's voice is fucking majestic.
Same
his voice is oddly soothing and satisfying to hear
+TheAangzoe i know right
Yeah, a great voice. Btw he is 68 years old.
whoa
Teller's voice is like butter
I can't believe its not!!.
Parkay?
BeaTheBear gay
Of course it's great, he's never used it.
"Audible chocolate"
95% of views on this views are people just coming here to hear Teller talk
I came because of that
Zander Clash me too
If you ever bump into Teller inside the Rio Casino he will talk to you... The mouth on him is hilariously surprising.
omg are you a psychic lol ?
here to hear ear to ear
Teller has a different voice than I expected.
He has a -------- voice
For some reason I thought he would be British XD
I thought he'd be more like Pee Wee Herman
Benjamin Lehman i thought his voice would be sqeeky lol
Benjamin Lehman yeah i thought it was lkke a chipmunk voice but its really nice
Even Teller yelling "OH FUCK-" is majestic af
when did he shout that?!
+Frozen Mango 21:50 when he talks about being fooled on the Fool Us TV show lol though I think he says "holy fuck!!"
Frozen Mango
Teller should make audiobooks. I'd buy them all
Brandon Larson Just imagine: silent magician and audiobook reader. That would be an interesting combination of careers, haha. But I agree, I’d buy them too
He could read the phonebook, and still people would listen to him.
Jokes on you, he invented the audiobook
"And now that I have 200 million dollars, ladies flock to me"
@Christopher Hall p
I learned two things: 1: Teller was a high school teacher. 2: Teller talks like a high school teacher. (And I mean that in the best possible way.)
"You feel like an idiot if your heckling a silent guy" - Teller's quote of the century!
Teller is highly intelligent, articulate, and actually has a good voice. Often known to be the "brains" of the duo, I feel like he's missed out on being interviewed in the media over the years by sticking with the silent persona. But I also bet he has no regrets.
+yerk55 Anyone who knows even a little about penn and teller knows its all about teller.
Please shut the fuck up
EpochDeus penn isnt thick either.
Some people get more out of their potential by having someone else handle the forefront of the spotlight :)
I don't think he regrets it. There's a certain amount of brilliance and humbleness that comes with listening and not speaking but he has books he's going to write tons more genius stuff. At least I hope he does that one needs to write a very personal book because it will be full of humbleness and Brilliance in the world needs that more than ever.
Yeah Teller has an amazing voice but no one's is going to acknowledge Penn's shoes?
Travon Williams that's all I was looking for was a comment about that
He used a time machine to go back to 1987 - just for that one pair of shoes.
I DID LOL I HAVE 2 PHOTOS OF BOTH OF THEM MAN TELLER WHISPERED TO ME 'I'M WATCHING' DIDNT KNOW WAT HE MEANT UNTIL I MET THEM AGAIN, I'M A MAGICIAN MYSELF
Or the red nail on his left hand ring finger.
I do. I've noticed that counter wear some crazy s *** when it comes to shoes. It's quite entertaining alone.
That's his voice?! Damn that was good
For lack of a better word. Smoooooooooooth.
+YellowTissueBox AS FUCK
starkk19 I'm like... super turned on by Teller rn, rn...
He spoke quite high pitch, but it's him talking
No, he was miming. Moron.
Nah tellers not actually speaking it's just one of penns ventriloquist acts
+Kool Kidz Vidz really?
+Kool Kidz Vidz I know that it is tellers real voice I was only messing
Boredophobia No shit.
Keith Lyons it's actually a voice actor dubbing him. Teller is mute
AHAHAH THAT MADE MY DAY SUB"D YOU GOOD SUR!
I like how Penn just sort of sat there and let teller talk. Like their dynamic on stage is nice, but the fact that he's also comfortable just not saying anything and letting his friend speak really solidifies my idea of their friendship.
Teller's voice does not match his face, that's for sure. But he definitely has a great voice. He could host a radio show or podcast.
There are other videos of him talking, he's not this high pitch in real life
Storm Heflin he has a cold?
passerell I usually proofread before sending a comment off. Thanks for catching that error for me. I have fixed the error.
Storm Heflin you're just not use to seeing him talk. If he spoke all the time instead of penn always talking, it would be normal for you and may even think Penn should have a different voice
New podcast...Tellers tells it all
loved the interview but did anyone else find this simply with "teller speaks" from the search bar
Yep
uh huh
you're damn right mate lol
yes
Uh you got me lol
First time I've heard Teller talk. He's a very good, entertaining speaker. Who knew?
I did. LOL
I totally agree!
Well, I sort of knew from Penn, who said many times that Teller has much better voice and is better speaker and that that was the joke for them. But I guess, I didn't really believe him till now...
Teller has the most majestic speaking voice ever. I want him to narrate an Audible. He sounds nothing like what I imagined him to sound like.
He has a younger voice than expected!
He never uses it so it stays in pristine condition
Jacob Julien I think it sounds like an older gentleman's voice. It's so deep.
Every time I hear Teller speak it both freaks me out & fascinates me completely.
+January Quackenboss Especially since his kayfabe persona is somewhat bumbling and empty-headed, and Teller himself is such an intelligent, thoughtful, warm person.
exactly!
HIS VOICE IS SO....DAMN ....COOL
COOLER than what i imagined it to be !!!
Yeah, he doesn't sound like how you would think.
Came here to hear his voice. I love his voice is that weird to say?
Jennifer Omg no! his voice does sound just like butter lol..so smooth and calming..totally have a crush on Teller even more now ...😂
Totally
Should have been a radio host lol
Not at all. It wasn't what I was expecting and I kind of dig that, it's really interesting.
It’s weird if You say You don’t
49:40-50:10 possibly the most incredible statement I have ever heard. I have always had so much respect for these two men both as people and magicians. that simple statement just cranked it up to 11. I absolutely love and respect these men to such an incredible extent.
I'm obsessed with complaining about my food and wasting it, and penn told me to shut the fuck up >:(
in all seriousness, good statement.
Absolutely true. Both these guys are humble geniuses. Able to criticize and correct themselves. Very few people have that gift.
Teller has a voice for radio.
And Penn has a face for radio.
14 seconds in and my mind is already blown. Teller spoke! I didn't think he would ever speak under any circumstance. Guess I have to watch the rest, now, just to hear Teller speak more.
czcams.com/video/5siSa4A9M_Q/video.html here he is in a full interview. thats the first time ive heard him speak too.
He should be the male Siri
J. Late that’s what i was thinking!
Teller's voice is just..wow, he could definitely do radio
Nothing tells a lie better than the lie you tell yourself. - Teller
If the magic thing doesnt work out, Teller can always be a voice actor. Amazing voice!
Spoiler alert... it worked.
They have a few hundred million dollars combined.
Tellers Voice is so manly and soft i cant get enough of him x
I love that they just sound like genuine friends
The more I listen to them the more I love them. Respect to penn on people who judge others on what they "love" or are "obsessed" with. Only assholes disrespect someone's dreams
OGScarface that's why I hate the other talent shows
Yes. I hate people who say about obsessives that they have "too much time on their hands". People who have obsessions are generally happier than people who sneer at obsessives.
Damn it, Teller speaks marvelously... what a voice and how delightful it is the way he thinks
I think Teller sounds the way he does because of how much he's preserved his voice. The world could benefit greatly from silence.
the last 5 minutes are great. Hearing them talk so objectively about their decisions and character is so refreshing. Their attention to morality is just awesome too.
I love watching Penn and Teller here simply because you can tell they're not used to interacting in front of a crowd in this manner. Despite the fact that Teller can speak up, Penn still, when speaking for both of them, kind of gestures towards Teller who will give non-verbal cues as to whether he agrees or disagrees.
I had to pause the movie and go watch Tim's Vermeer. That was one of the best documentaries I have ever seen. Wow.
heyyyy, me 2! (i just finished it)
where? I don't know where to find it :/
Having Teller speak from a mic is magic in itself
I wanna learn Latin from Teller. lol
love his voice. And Penn's laugh always get me !
Amazing people are so focused on Teller talking. I enjoyed Penns authenticity in his approach to his Magic. Of course we watch magic in order to be fooled and amazed.
Here he actually appears very respectful towards others opinions and beliefs. Very transparent. Which is not always the case when he gets into his atheistic ranting. Good to see this kinder side of his person. Also totally agree with him that many of the judges on talent shows arent fit to actually judge what is in front of them. mostly theyre picked because theyre known.
A really good interview, honest and intelligent
These guys are class. Admitting their mistakes and failures. They seem like nice and decent fellows.
teller came to my college once as a guest speaker (yes, he talked!) for one of my classes. he was a really engaging, intelligent and sweet guy.
Seriously?! May I ask how that came about? I would adore having him speak at my college if that were possible!
Penn and Teller are honest! Love them so much!
As said before, you come here to hear Teller talk. Within seconds, you are mesmerised by WHAT he talks about.... These guys are amazing, and I love the tension and the difference between loud and big Penn and short and minute Teller, and how Teller still manages to be the guy who holds the reins (which is part of their show, still, I love it).
I love Teller's voice ... I think it is very intelligent and very calming.
+Kitana Galatea yes very clever
it's ironic that a person so eloquent and with such a great voice decided not to use it on stage , I love Pen and Teller :)
The way he explained the reason for doing that made such perfect sense tho
Teller has such a dynamic and charismatic personality, and voice, that he could be a major actor in both film and TV sitcoms. He'd bat it out of the park.
i cant understand why a lot of comments are about that teller's voice doesnt fit teller. that voice suits him well, much more than i could have expected. I listen this video before going to sleep, his voice calms me very much :D i think his voice would suit for therapy mixtape/seances, lullaby, stories for kids before sleep and etc. :D
i watched Tim´s Vermeer after watching this interview, i´ve never experienced so much joy watching a documentary, amazing
Teller literally is the best listener ever, number one he would never talk over you, number two you would listen to his voice (because it’s weirdly entertaining).
I was not expecting Teller to sound like that, really soothing.
21:57 Why do i keep coming back for this.....?
Their answer to the last question was just heartwarming! I love penn and teller evrn more after this interview
He is extremely reflected... Just gained even more respect for Teller.
Oh my god, teller has a voice of gold
came to listen to teller but loved listening to Penn. Such a great genuine honest man! You can tell him and Teller care about people
That woman never puts her phone down. What's more entertaining than the event she's there sitting on the front row for?
Watching tow videos from a certain parking lot in Texas, probably.
@@ThornappleRiverRailSeries It may be 9 months later, but I loved the reference
Observant too
Maybe she's taking notes?
@@kevinwallace1499 can you explain the reference? Please?
These guys are so great. They have such a level of candidness and integrity.
It's so comforting to finally hear Teller's voice
Never heard Teller talk so much !!! What a nice pleasant voice
man, I would give an arm and a leg to see Penn and teller in person and get their autograph
I met them a couple days ago and got autographs and photos with them ! Go to Vegas they perform a lot there
+ArtistExtraordinaire01 man I live on then other side of the world and my parents could NEVER afford to go to america let alone vegas
screw an autograph. I just want to sit down and have a conversation with them. they seem like incredible people.
Kool Kidz Vidz I saw Teller at Ralph's
Been there done that. I was in Las Vegas and saw their show. After the show they would be in the lobby where everyone is leaving and you could get their autograph and even a selfie pic with each of them. They are not together. Teller is on one side of the lobby and Penn is on the other. Teller knows how to take selfies so if you don't know how just give teller your phone and he will take one of you and him. I'm 5'10" and Penn towers over me in the pic. Penn is a tall dude.
There's just no other entertainers that are this thoughtful about what they do.
Wanna know why his voice sounds like butter?
Because he almost never uses it
why
Kumendra Naidoo What?
Kumendra Naidoo I assume you're asking why that would happen, well just compare Penn and Teller, Penn's voice is raspy and breaks a lot which you can attribute to cigarette's and 40 years of overuse on stage, whereas Teller has only used cigarettes as props and hast spoken once on stage since he chose to be mute when he preforms. That's why m8
My Name Is Pete cigarettes* hasn’t*
never uses butter? or never uses his voice?
Just came here to hear tellers voice.. From so many years very few people hear him. Love you both. Best friends, best partners and world's best magician.
HIS VOICE IS BEAUTIFUL!! He is an angel
27:14 "So I think there are a lot of people in magic who are just there because it was the only thing that they could get applause for." - Teller
That's how I feel about pastors who try to hard to put jokes in the sermon.
Yv
Ty
A class act, both of them. These guys are highly skilled at what they do. Respect to both of them.I don't want to know how the stuff is achieved, it would just spoil the show. These lads are fantastic entertainers.
I have a hard time thinking of 2 people I’d rather share a beer with, the intellectual honesty these 2 have us unmatched in my eyes
Penn and teller are absolutely amazing what a deadly duo they are they are absolutely excellent and 2 really sincere and kind men
I love how Penn is completely silent when Teller speaks when usually he's the voice of the room.
The one thing they did not talk about is their Limited Run Broadway show closing Aug 16th, 2015. It is however a very entertaining 53 minutes of various subjects and you do get to hear Teller speak.
richb313 It saddens me that I'll never be able to see it, but it also fills me with joy to hear about how good it is. It would be a shame if Penn & Tellers "show to be remembered by" was mediocre. Hopefully they will integrate some of the new acts into the las Vegas show and lots of people get to see them(like me).
Trickier Hades Saw it a week ago on my birthday. It was amazing.
Trickier Hades I saw it this past week and also agree it was great. At least half of it was classic stuff, so if you're a big P&T fan you'd have recognized a lot. The rest I believe is already in their Vegas act, so anyone missing out on this run should certainly console themselves with a visit to Las Vegas.
The moment he started speaking, he came over as smart and intelligent. Very likeable person. Completely different feel about him. Good sounding voice. Nice to finally hear what he sounds like.
Teller is cool and all, and I really enjoyed watching him speak. He is intelligent and articulate.
Penn on the other hand is so incredibly gifted. He has a massive heart and brain that's bigger than he is himself. You may not agree with him but you will respect him. What an awesome man....
Gotta love the way that Teller doesn't even answer the guy's question at around 27:00 xD
haha
Oh but he absolutely did answer it, “why do magicians fall into the inane patter?” Was the question, and he explained, it’s because they can do the magic “trick” but they’re actually a shit performer, which is where the stupid rambling patter comes in, like he said if you’re a comedian you can’t hide being a shit performer, if you’re a magician you can hide behind the trick
36 years old and I’m seeing this for the first time?! My mind doesnt comprehend the first 2 mins of this interview 🤯
Man! I would listen to Teller for hours!!!
Seeing Teller actually speak....That is so trippy.
Teller should sing. He's got a nice voice
"let's go to, Lucy in the Sky with Traffic." that deserved more of a reaction, pretty great wit.
Now I love Teller even more ..super huge crush and now his voice is so calm..
Wow penn said tiny Tim one of his heroes
For some reason I imagined him having a british accent.
He writes like he's British
This is magic! how something simple as just hearing someone talk can feel so unreal.
I never heard his voice before it’s like butter nice to hear him talk.
Enjoyed this...I absolutely love "Fool Us" so hearing the behind the scenes was cool and also Teller talking! Nice to get more of his personality. :)
Ironies of the world #278: Teller has an absolutely beautiful, mellifluous voice.
I so enjoy listening to these guys talk. Thoughtful and interesting.
I could listen to these two talking for hours, such intelligent and insightful people!
That expression by Teller when Penn says "mentalism" at 9:55 is priceless)
Brilliant interview, far from the shallow "night show"-style interviews where a self-boosting ego host steals the air time to promote himself.
I love penn & Teller really love their magic they are both real thinking magicians and I love to hear them talk. They are a real asset to the art of magic.
It’s not often I sit and watch a CZcams video, much less one that is almost an hour long. Great interview. Penn and Teller are the best at what they do.
Holy shit Teller has a super deep voice!! He should do movie previews on the low.
"The answer to basic speech is always more speech."
*Near dead silence*
Holy hell Google....
You gotta appreciate the magicians that just learn how to do tricks really well for applause. Penn and Teller and others progress the art by inventing, but good performers are a great asset regardless.
The intimate nature of not speaking. Man, I like that. Perfect summing up
I’m 18 and Teller might be my weirdest celebrity crush
I just turned 19, and Teller is one of my favorite celebrity crushes. I always thought it was a weird one, too, but at the same time, it's like...how can you NOT love him? He's sweet, cute, intelligent, charming as hell...he's incredible overall!
Yeah he could smash
Nah, everyone got a crush on someone +60 years older than you.
What Penn says at the beginning, about Mentalists actively trying to distort reality vs. Magicians always saying "it was just a trick" when asked "Did you really...?" is something I 100% agree with!! There's a very thin line between people doing a magic trick with everybody in the room knowing it's just a show and not real, and people actually trying to force you into believing you just witnessed some kind of mind-bending hocus pocus. The latter is actively telling a LIE, which is totally reprehensible and like a slap in the face of every magician doing stage shows.
These guys are very articulate. Great interview.
So nice to have at least two people in in show business who are very smart and they speak their mind...
5:19 that laugh tho.
Puts a whole new meaning to HAHAHAHHAHAHA.
