    For what you end up paying at the dealer low to mid 40's its a great value and tough truck ..... Ford Ram and Chevy have cheap materials , don't last long without tons of issue's , and cost way more for a similar packaged truck. .. Oh but they have more tech ...lol .. It's a truck

    • @hochhaul
      @hochhaul Před 5 lety +6

      Ford and GM trucks sell because they have the most efficient and powerful powertrains, plus their trucks have the best towing capabilities and tech to make towing safer and more convenient. Ram sells because they have the softest ride on the market and until recently, have a great looking design. The Ram also has somebof the nicest interiors in their upper trims. The Titan should be outselling the Tundra. The problem is that the decision to lead the release of the Titan with only the Cummins was a huge mistake. The V8 Cummins was originally a bus engine and not a good choice for a heavy half-ton. That gas V8 was late for the launch of the Titan. The weird proportions of the Titan, required for accommodating the Cummins, was also off-putting to most people. That massive front overhang hurts any off-roading trims and looks awkward.

    • @davidlavorci4507
      @davidlavorci4507 Před 5 lety +9

      @MotorcycleMan sales don't reflect the quality or worth of a product .... Ford sold thousands of the ford tempo .... That may be one of the worst cars ever made .It sold 2,732,542 over 10 years (1984 -1994 ) great sales # So does that reflect its worth or quality .... Hell no it doesn't !!! It was a piece of junk that sold well Nissan or Toyota aren't companies like ford ,Ram or Chevy that re styles ever 3 or 4 years constantly add tech that really a truck doesn't need .... Titan or tundra is a well equipped truck at a great price and disagreeing with that is kinda foolish ....You can get Limited tundra 4x4 for about $42-43 or low 40's for a titan prox4
      ..... Those are great buys , will get almost any job done and last a long time .... Smart folks know this is true !

    I’ve had my titan platinum 2017 for almost two years. Approaching 36,000. No issues. I am averaging about 17 mpg with primarily city driving. I traded from a platinum tundra. Night and day difference in mpg, warranty, features. Tundra was a good truck but nowhere near what you get with titan. My only complaint is the backseat isn’t as roomy. It would be nice to have had adaptable cruise control too.

Let's you put the light back on the road where it belongs instead of blinding oncoming traffic. Also, this engine has the most awesome exhaust note of any v8 pickup once you put an exhaust on it. My past 5 vehicles have been gm and last year i made the switch to a 2018 Nissan Titan and I personally think that they nailed it. If we are complaining about KNOBS maybe we shouldn’t be looking at pick up trucks???. $54k is probably the asking price but i purchased mine way below that price mark. 5years 100k warranty navigation, keyless entry, leather heated seats, factory spray in bed liner, factory bed lights etc what more could you possibly want from a truck other than to drive itself? A similar truck with the above mentioned options at my time of purchase was Ram $54k, Chevy $56k, Ford $55k thats after the discounts. I have zero complaints about the Nissan Titan based on what I paid for it.

Most people have the mindset that unless it’s big power and tons of torque it’s not worthy don’t buy it but I can’t tell you now having worked in a performance engine shop there are two kinds of motors , hard working long lasting grunt work get it done kind and the go fast , lots of power high performance in the shop more kind . That's Nissan's fault. They hired the wrong guy to lead the Titan. That guy jumped ship and now runs Mitsubishi's US operations. They should have never used the Cummins V8. The engone sucks, but created the huge and awkward front overhang on the truck. The gas V8 wasn't available until nearly a year later. And the Titan Warrior concept fixed the awkward proportions and created a ton of buzz over the new Titan but some moron at Nissan never brought the concept or styling to market. If They built the Warrior, the truck would sell. It's a better truck than the Tundra without a doubt.

    No one buys a truck for gas mileage and the pros will out weigh the cons since it will be the do it all vehicle.

    There is supposed to be a redesign just around the corner! I am like you, the front end was a killer as soon as I saw it. I really like Nissan. Had 6 Frontier Pro4X Trucks as farm trucks, 2 King Cabs and 4 Crew Cabs. Never did anything other than routine maintenance and the only roads they saw were like your trail out to the fields or worse, much worse. Hauled bales, towed water trailers and bales and whatever was needed, ag equipment, and , on occasion herded cattle, up to 525 head at a time!! Ok 5 or 525, just doesn’t matter but it makes them sound tougher!!
    Many of the buttons you commented about were in the Frontiers we had. All were 2014 - 2018 models. They really DO recycle buttons and for too long, for sure. I am getting out of farming/ranching due to age otherwise I would still have them. Each were assigned to a farm hand and were given to them as part of their severance. Now I have 3 F150s. I have always had one F150 on the farm, but now it is all Ford, not due to brand loyalty, but due to price at the time I bought them.
    Have to see what the new ones are like, when the farm sells I may need another truck, the ones on the farm go with it when it sells!
    Thanks again, good objective review, don’t listen to the haters that are so brand loyal they are blind! You know what you are doing! Eh!

    More sound in the exhaust, put the lead in it... ;) I might be biased. 17owner and Love it. Sure it has a few things I don't like, like no Apple Android, that will one day get replaced with after market, I considered looking into the 19 upgraded stereo (likely it would fit) but then saw where there put the camera button on this new model, further away. Why the flying (bleep) would you do that? For the dollars imo it's one of the best trucks on the market, sure it has a lot of misses but it really nailed a lot of things as well, like ground clearance, air vents for back seats, heated rear seats, storage under the seats and behind the seats, lots of lights in the box (I'm comparing similar model year manufacturers) It's an under rated over looked truck that drive better than the competition as well. Brand loyalty, perhaps if Fiat dodge (barf) all work together in the take over, Nissan will finally get the recognition they deserve. In closing i'd put my truck up against any of the other 3 and i think it'd win or come in a close 2nd.

    I feel like more detail into what the truck offers would have been a big plus. Skid plates, posi rear end on top of the locking diff, gearing for the 4lo and 4 hi, seat comfort, steering comfort on rough roads, how the stock tires do, how does the truck perform on mid towing, etc. A lot of the complaints are aesthetic issues, and nothing to do with truck performance. I agree, the newer Titan was dated the moment it was made. But this truck wasnt made to compete aesthetically rather in between offroad and on road competition.

      I think with the recent incentives, it is a good bargain for the right needs. It tows 10k lbs more confidently than other half-ton pickups and is often a better price than 3/4 ton pickups. The 5.0L Cummins is thirsty, but if your needs outweigh fuel economy concerns (which they should), then it is a good buy. The warranty is pretty good as well.

    I don't know if they are viable enough for options that's the sad fact of it. Nissan is the most american truck right now built by americans and domestic steel. But they can't compete with the big 3 from a lot of brand loyalty and restrictions getting into the commercial segment. Nissan vans are going away and the xD was derated for tax purposes. Nissan listened to us we just didn't buy and we also didn't voice our opinions loud enough against ford's mexican automobiles which dominate our american fleets.

    The XD is a waist of money and space. With only a few configurations. And only one engine. As an owner of a 09 Titan it will pass everything on the high way but a gas station!
