    I just 2 weeks ago received my new old stock SKX011J1 from Creation Watches . I had a stock SKX bracelet that I never used in brand new condition from my SKX009 and put it on the Orange 🍊 boy . I’m so loving this watch 😊👍🏻🍊💯

    Orange is used often in dive watches as it’s one of the last colours you can see at depth.

    • @kensurfs
      @kensurfs  Před 4 lety +1

      Sam Beaver Almost all of them I found on eBay. My 7002 I bought from the jewelry district in downtown LA

  • @caomhan84

    The Omega NATO straps are smoother seatbelt-style nylon as opposed to the rougher/sportier ballistic nylon. Thankfully a bunch of companies are offering seatbelt NATO straps now. I like them but I've pretty much moved on from NATO straps for my watches in favor of vulcanized rubber.

    • @kensurfs
      @kensurfs  Před 4 lety

      caomhan84 It the rubber softer than the typical seiko diver rubber.

      @@kensurfs it depends on who makes it. The new Seiko rubber straps (the silicone ones with the metal keepers that come on Turtles and the 62MAS and other high end watches) are wonderfully soft and comfy, moreso than the old SKX straps, but I don't like them because they are too long for my small wrist and attract lint. Aftermarket vulcanized rubber straps vary from very comfortable right off to needing a break-in period...depending on what rubber formula the company uses. All my Seiko divers are on Tropic straps and waffle straps from Uncle Seiko right now, but I've also tried Barton and they're good too. If only Seiko didn't make their newer straps so long.....

    Hey Kensurf, I live in L.A. and would like to know where in downtown did you go and what did you pay? My brother bought a seiko diving watch in the early 90's in downtown for $150 and I just don't believe him.

    Really nice watch , eBay yes tons of fake or Frankenstein watches from India Asia , made a mistakes when I first started collecting watches with ones from India and the Philippians the biggest one was buying a supposed tag heuer automatic diver spend 250 dollars it ran but the crown didn’t screw down. Anymore all the lume was falling off and the bezel didn’t stay in place , who knows what movement was in it , so I sold it as parts for 35 dollars cus it was such a dog , then ones from India supposedly vintage watches , they fall apart or don’t even run right not to mention they repaint the dial , total dogs never again

    Its my hobby, too. Started during 70ties with Seiko, flwd by Rolex diver, another Rolex GMT, few other Seiko n Citizen (the latter specialized in divers). I lost my Rolex GMT, yes, I lost a Rolex. Unwilling to fork another several $K came across Bliger 43mm GMT. China, copied Miyota movement, below $100 shipped. Myself nvr considered Russian or Chinese watches, but man, it looks like Rolex, feels like one, ticking n rotor similar to Rolex. Those Chinese fly orbit, send robots to moon, sure they know how to build watches. I wud not inform y, if I wud not be absolutely surprised abt those watches. Go n google it, cheers Achim+
