    I have no problem with Peugeot sponsoring Fifth Gear, but these "reviews" are never going to be negative, let's face it. Autocar flag their Paid Promotion as such.

  • @hoagy_ytfc
    @hoagy_ytfc Před 3 lety +4

    I have one. It's ok. I think I prefer my previous car, the 208 GTi. I'd have bought another 208 if they still made GTi models at that time.
    They don't make the 308 GTi now, either. The sporty 508 seems nice, but well out of my price bracket.

    • @hoagy_ytfc
      @hoagy_ytfc Před 3 lety

      Oh by the way, "sport mode" doesn't really do anything, it puts some differnent numbers in the display that aren't useful, it tweaks the throttle response, but it gives you no more power. It does give you an embarrassingly bad fake engine noise through the speakers, though.

    The infotainment systems is shocking in the Peugeot, no physical buttons, you have to go into a menu and change the temperature which is dangerous while driving. The touch screen is unresponsive.

    • @marcbirchley2418
      @marcbirchley2418 Před 5 lety +3

      Thumbobby prove it. Wasn’t it Renault with the faulty electrics anyway. I’ve had both. 2 Peugeot’s in fact with 1 Renault. I had a dodgy window in a Laguna, failed door speakers and the window control switch broke off...
      2 Peugeot’s were a 207 HDI that I had remapped and was great till the torque ripped the clutch to pieces and so I swapped for the 207 GTI that I miss everyday. Only sold it because I became a dad and needed boot space.
      So..
      Again with my suggestion.. prove it.

      @DriftingLegend9282 Před 5 lety +10

      Millen Rogers this thing is miles better than the Focus ST and on par with the i30N. Once you have a go in one of these, you’ll change your mind. This 308 is one of the best GTI’s they’ve ever made, it holds the road so well and the LSD in it pulls you out of corners better than anything I’ve ever been in.

    I wish French cars were sold in America, just so there would be an option for people that want a bad car, but don't want a Chrysler product ☹️

    • @245thegreat
      @245thegreat Před 5 lety +8

      New French cars are far more reliable than anything America can produce. The old French cars had a bad rep yes, but a lot of manufacturers share similar parts these days and use the same plastics. The only real difference you'll notice is if you have a budget of 100k upwards. Then you will see a notable difference in quality.

      No customer is ever going to be free on problems no matter the brand. You just got unlucky.
      If you’ve modded it. Then it’s very hard to put all blame on Peugeot.
      Vag car is the worst car I’ve ever had and I’ve owned a fair punto and bravo with zero problems, yet everyone would say it’s terrible.
      So far my 308 gti has no issues. It’s my first and 6 months owned. 3rd owner so we’ll see.

    Peugeot, Citron, and Renault aren't sold in the U.S. because their transmissions and engines kept breaking down. None of these cars have been sold in the U.S. since 1986.

      Renault is having the same transmission and engine problems in the U.S. with several of their Nissan models right now. I really don't think Renault, Peugeot, or Citron will be back in North America (U.S. Canada, or Mexico) any time soon.
