That was certainly different. I always get muddled with scale, but if it is scale 1/350 then 9 inches long equates to about 87.5 yards long. That's longer than a Boeing 747. Feasible for the real thing I suppose - if it existed. Make believe stuff is not something I would build, but nonetheless interesting to watch. I remember well watching the first episode; I am sure it was unusual in that it was shown on a weekday evening - around 7 o-clock - despite being more for children. I may be wrong, but I have that memory. It might have varied region to region as it was on ITV. Thank you for the video.
the scale of 1/350 comes from the kit being a350th of the size had a real life craft existed. from what i have seen its unlikely all 4 elevator cars would fit in the pod of 1/350 TB2, so i think the scales are main craft only , only way to check is to build 1/350th fireflash, TB1 and TB2, then set them against each other , rewatching the show makes fireflash 2x length of TB2 and TB2 1/3RD LONGER than TB1,now we just need a1/350 kit or zero x the mars ship.
I can remember Thunderbirds being on at 12:00 on a Sunday. I used to skip Sunday school and go around to my Nans to watch on a black and white TV!
You can always rely on Nan to do the right thing!
Long time ago, I'm in my late 50's very late 50's.and Thunderbird 2 was the model I always wanted.
Some cool models! I've seen the episode you're talking about. Looking forward to seeing the finished model!
