Over 45 years later and Thunderbird 2 is still one of my all time favourite vehicles.

Watching the Thunderbirds opening titles here again reminded me what a master Derek Meddings was of weathering and dirtying (the closeup of the Thunderbird 3 panelling!).

Picture perfect if you ignore, as I am, the significant seam between the two halves of the model.

TB3 please!!! Doesn't get enough glory! Then... XL5. with 2 scooters & robbie up front. Gerry Anderson redefined and created culture. Twizzle Torchy the battery boy, supercargo, Stingray( that should have been as well done as this TB2. Thankyou for my large sized Eagle. But Stingray, TB3 this good, this sized are essential. Get busy Jamie!!

I would love for someone to build a massive Thunderbird 2 with a detachable pod, remote control legs, that comes with 2 extra pods and pod vehicles and don’t have to build.

A shame that it doesn’t have a stand to show it in flight - TB2 doesn’t look its best grounded, and it means much of the detail is obscured.
If you were a British kid in the 1960's chances were the Enterprise was cool but Thunderbird 2 was frickin phenomenal.

Not gonna lie not adding extras such as the cranes and grabs that thunderbird 2 has in the show was such a missed opportunity. If they were included I would have genuinely got it
People keep saying "missed opportunity" as if these things weren't considered and then omitted for excellent reasons during development.

No. This is a fixed flight/take off model for display
Still loving thunder birds, I still think Matchbox who made the toys missed a trick by not doing the other pods and their vehicles aswell as doing somethig for thunderbird 5
TB5 was planned but abandoned

i wonder, do the vertical lifting struts 'flick' down like the original?, and the cargo section detatch like the original?

@GerryAndersonTV I know. Look, I know and understand why almost everybody felt let down by it, but the movie was how I discovered the Thunderbirds as a whole, so except for Thunderbird 5 never shown being repaired I can't harbour any sort of negativety or grudge against it. Ya know?
