The sub it’s an icon but once you see an SD43 then the sub looks boring
I can’t believe the sub is priced anywhere near $8k after trying on and buying the SD43.
Absolutely true!
Sub looks small and toyish on even a large man’s wrist. I’m a legit XXL guy and a a sub looks comically delicate and small on my wrist/forearms. I was a 400lbs bencher as a college student all natural and am6ft even for reference.
@@OhioVworldhow’s the thickness? I have bigger than average wrists, not huge. I tried one on and the diameter was perfect. I just worry about it being too thick to be comfortable for an extended time. My AD offered me one yesterday and I’m still thinking about it.
@@edx21x Honestly, I wear long sleeve dress shirts ~10 X a yr, if that, so I might not be that attuned to that, but it looked just right on my wrist. The deep sea is much thicker eye balling it.
Very well done. Now I need to see it on my wrist!
Great video. I was especially concerned about the depth/height of the caseback. I have seen in Rolexforums that some people complain that the extended caseback hurts their wrists. You had some good shots of how it sits on the wrist. You can see that the caseback is high. I have to imagine that if you wear it as a daily you would get used to it. Did anyone notice this?
It’s a comfortable watch from my experience. Glad the video helped, thanks for sharing your thoughts 👍
You are completely right: I bought this watch and sold it after a month of ownership. The reason is precisely what you described: The back case is ridiculously high and it doesn’t let the watch to sit properly on the wrist, and it’s very uncomfortable and feels top heavy. I sold it and got a Sub Ceramic 41mm, and the difference it’s night and day. Even the (bigger) DeepSea James Cameron sits much flatter on the wrist and it’s more comfortable to wear is you have the wrist to pull it.
Perfection unnoticed!
🙏
It’s my first Rolex. I’ve got it from AD with luck because I have no purchase history with them before
That’s a great first Rolex! Enjoy!
Just got mine. Incredible but they all don’t have the wet suit extension. You said mine was taken out, well mine didn’t come with one. Yes from a AD.
The best Rolex to buy.
Is that cyclops lens glued onto the crystal?
Yes, it is!
I have this exact watch. It's my favourite watch. I also live in LDN and you're braver than me to wear it out and about! 😅
Beautiful watch ! But for me the Datejust edges this one out
Datejust. Really. I absolutely hate the datejust. I’d rather have an OP or explorer I all day long.
@@mendipfox1650 Yes really
Datejust and Sea-Dweller are so different would be a hard choice choosing only one to keep!
completely different watches. strange comparison. datejust v sky dweller maybe
Not a 50th anniversary SD 43 -mk1, but just a Sea-Dweller SD 43 - mk2.
Same but different, depending who you ask
