Now those are 16 minutes of pure joy and useful information. Love this format of videos.
I own the 3 watches, love them all. For my 16.5 cm wrists the sub is the way to go. Sometimes I enjoy the James Cameron but for few hours only. On your large wrists, the James Cameron look phenomenal
love these table top vids from you, happy you brought one back!
This video is so helpful and answers all the questions I have. Thank you.
SD43 All the way love these style of videos hands on comparison 🙌
SD 43 is the best watch I’ve ever worn. Fits perfect for a 7 and 3/4” wrist
Do you think it would fit ok on a 7 1/4 wrist?
@@bradpowell843I think it would. I have a friend that has just under a 7” wrist, average build that has worn it before and it looks good on him.
Great video production as always! And a great comparison as well
The trick with the Deapsea is to just have it tight against your wrist. Mine doesn't budge. Yes it's still kind of top heavy but it doesn't move. I absolutely love this watch and I can wear it all day with no problem.
That's good
The James Cameron is an engineering master piece, I call it the dooms day clock. Wear it in good health it’s a beauty. 👍👍
Yes tight
Love your reviews. Great to see you back at your desk. Getting a little tired of walking around Venice.
Excellent topic, im a Rolex dive watch fan, so I went into my AD and tried on all three of these, ended up waiting for but now have got my new 44mm Deep Sea Sea Dweller, so happy with the size, weight and the micro adjustment in the strap. Its big, not everyone wants that, but a Sub was just too small
"A lot of us are desk divers" 😂😂😂 Mate you really know how to hit the nail. :D
Incredible video as usual. Great comparison of of 3 amazing timepieces but the sub in my opinion is just perfect!
Very good comparison video! Thank you!
Enjoyed the comparison vid, thanks.
⌚😎🤙
My Mk1 Deepsea has been the best daily wearer I've ever owned. You soon get used to the size and weight. I love my Submariner, but for me the Deepsea is the real tool watch.
Yeah I have the black dial Deepsea I like it I don't wear it much it's a big watch
Ni un buzo hoy en día usa un reloj .solo usan computadoras en la muñeca .
Great video. So much useful info. Many thanks, Chris :)
I'll take a Sea-Dweller, thanks! 😂
SD4K is the best sports watch Rolex have ever made
I’ve been lucky and fortunate to have a few watches (over the years) but my favorite is 16600 since new ‘03*.
SD or DSSD for me. Love the bigger dial and the gold bracelet. Real sexy
Absolutely Deepsea
Great job man. Reminds of the old days talking Rolex. Really great comparisons and fun. Cheers
Nice update to the intro. Keep up the great work!
Great little video there Oisin! Thank you 😊
My first Rolex is the James Cameron, bought earlier this year from my local dealer.
As a guy that likes to fly under the radar not ideal! 😂 But what a watch!! The dial is stunning, I have fairly hefty wrists 7.5” or so and I think it’s fits rather well.
I would take the no date Sub over the other two all day. The 124060 is the best watch in their total line up imho and has been for some time. . Ticks so many boxes at a relatively affordable price by Rolex standards. Proper tool watch. Aesthetically pleasing without the cyclops. Elegant. Simply timeless.
Very pretty comparison. Now it’s all crystal clear. Merci beaucoup!
Great video! Please give us more if this content, Oisin. Thank you!
Great video. Nice work. Beautiful watches. Love the Sea Dweller.
That was great! I have the SD43 126600 and the DSSD 126660 Black Dial - love them both and rotate them every 2 days to mix it up. Enjoy!
@Oisin O Malley, what size wrist do you have?
Love your videos … what camera do you use ?
I have tried SD43 and DSSD 126660 in the store and both watches wear big for my 6.5inch wrist. However, I am not bothered by the size at all -- I accept the size for what it is and do not expect them to wear like dressy watches. Pulled the trigger on the DSSD JC due to its dial and domed crystal are very unique and interesting to look at. Not to mention its amazing clasp, it is so easy to make quick adjustments on the fly with just one hand, and I wish Rolex could put the same adjustment system on every one of their watches.
Its definitely one of those watches that has to be wore above the wrist bone with a tighter fit. I find that the case back would stick to my skin pretty quickly once I put it on, it would not flop or move around at all once the bracelet is properly fitted. And thanks to the amazing adjustment system in the clasp, getting a perfect fit isn't difficult.
Very helpful! Thank you! I've owned the black dial DSSD, but found it just too thick. Also did not like the crystal distortion. I'm sitting with SD43 on as I write this. I would agree that for those of us with little larger wrists, the SD43 is the right one. I do appreciate the cleaner Sub bezel, but not a deal-breaker. The one thing I would love to do is to retro-fit the DSSD clasp onto the SD43 bracelet. Being able to make the on-the-fly adjustment without having to take the watch off was heaven while I had the DSSD.
I like the busier bezel on the 43. Helps shrink the watch a little.
Love them all. Wish I had bigger wrists so I could wear the SD43, it feels way more unique than a sub
Very nice comparison. Thank you.
Incredible video :D
Nicely done sir - thank you 🙏
Usually I am not drawn towards Rolex but that dial of the Deepsea shading from blue to black is just gorgeous! Anyway I expected it to be heavier than the Omega Planet Ocean Chronograph from 2009 I just have on my wrist. Just checked its weight: 243g. It doesn't always look perfect on my wrist but fortunately it is wide enough that it still works. For me tool watches are allowed to be chunky and heavy.
I have the SD4K variant, small production of 18 months, perfect case size.
Great on the wrist.
Great video! The DeepSea 116660 is actually a 21mm lug width.
I’m a fan of the no date sub, saving to pick one up, can’t wait. No date Rolex are my favorite.
Never could’ve pulled off the Sub, I’m way too large and tall, thank God Rolex brought out the Sea Dwellers and Deep Seas 💪🏽
Funny, I’m 6’5” 250 lbs, but I have skinny wrists. The 124060 looks absolutely perfect on me. I suppose i could pull off the larger ones due to my frame but on my wrist they might look like an Invicta
The Submariner is the cool watch.
great comparison video all amazing watches , love my 124060 the no date dial just looks so clean and my grail watch
SD43 single red is an amazing watch even on a small rest.... best tool watch ever
I rock a 116660 Deep Sea most days, I have a 7 3/4" wrist, I also have a TAG Aquaracer 42mm and an Omega Speedmaster Professional, the Deep Sea is my fav wear.....It took a few days wearing the Deep Sea when I first got it to understand how to wear it, the glidelock is your friend, I found I do wear it a little tighter than my other watches as it is a substantial chunky piece, but I do absolutely love it, I like the bold look, but understand others may not necessarily like that....For me I don't like the way Submariners wear on my wrist, it feels too small to me as do the GMT's (sadly as I'd love a two tone GMT), I did try a few different models of Rolex dive watches before settling on the Deep Sea 116660....Nice review, I enjoyed that.
I've had my SD50 for a a month now. Absolutely love it
The best comparison I've seen. It will change my purchase decision.
I've tried on all these watches as well. With a 7.5" wrist I could wear either the Sub or the SD43 but I prefer the slightly larger SD43 with the red text on the dial. Not mentioned in the vid, the new sub has full AR coating while the SD43 only has it under the cyclops. More reflection for sure, something to know if that bothers you.
Absolutely love the deepsea 👌
Hi Oisin from Miami !!! I have a SD43 and I love it, sometimes I have the idea to get a sub as my vacation watch but when I see my SD43 I change my mind and I had and omega for that 😂
Nice video, thanks for sharing
The Deep Sea 126660 fits me perfectly and is a truly special watch in my view. It wears more comfortably than any other watch I've owned. I don't know what kind of engineering went into the wearing experience, but it's incredible. If you're on the fence due to the specs or others' opinions, give it a chance and see what you think.
Very informative presentation
great post. thank you!
Fabulous video and watches…each to their own..for me its the Goldilocks. Now if only it had that blue/black dial…👌
Oisin: You're good at getting right into it and (while offering detail) just running thru the three model variations. Good job. "TV presenter par excellence"
Just saw your video. Great comparison. Direct and to the point. A nice coincidence since I took delivery of my SD just yesterday from my AD. I’m able to relate to everything u mentioned. Was offered a choice between the Sub or the SD. AGREE 100% that the SD is perfect for those with slightly larger wrist. Beside that, I personally like to feel the heft of a watch on my wrist. Call me weird 😂. Keep up the good 👍 work.
Very nice little comparison C thanks Oisin.
For me, the SD43 is the closest thing to perfection on my 7.2in wrist. The Sub is nice but a little bit underwhelming to me. The Deepsea is not for me. I find the dial too small for the case, the ringlock is an eyesore, bracelet too narrow, gradient dial so-so and the whole thing just looks clunky to me. I find other extreme divers much better looking, like the Omega Ultra Deep and the Breitling Seawolf, for example.
doesn't matter about wrist size, you need the arms to go with it. You haven't seen the DeepSea Challenge if you think this is big
@peters8011 That's like saying you can wear big shoes if you have big thighs. Makes no sense.
If you have small wrists and the watch lugs overhang, the size of the arms doesn't matter. I've seen the Challenge worn on regular wrists with big arms, and it still looks like a clown watch.
I have owned all three. The SD43 is the one I still own.
I have the new version of the SD43. I would have LOVED to have you put all three on, go to a bistro and then record the reactions of people as they looked! Double takes, wide eyes, disgust ..... probably every reaction you could imagine.
great comparison!
SD43 comes with a divers extension in the bracelet that you didn’t mention. Most people have it removed it seems . Great vid thanks
Only the first 2 gens do I think
Karl's right, the sea dweller no longer comes with the extension
Oisin must have removed it as his is a 2018 model
Had them, sold the Sub and the SD 43. The Deep Sea is by far the best of all them. It’s the ultimate diving watch 👌🏻
Love the circa 2020 old school style TWC episode today! ( but without the RayBans)
thanks for this!
Wow!! SD43 seems to be the “most” favorite. I love all 3.
great review, the best ever.
Excellent video!
Absolutely love my SD43.
Brilliant video
What are you wearing at beginning of video?
Great review
Just got the D-Blue 136660 it’s has been perfected with the subtle changes from its predecessors
I would add a SD43 MK1 beside your 136660, then it’s beatbox both worlds ;)
How big are your wrists? It's hard to judge, over 7inch?
No-date Submariner is just so classic.
The James Cameron dial is gorgeous
I wear a James Cameron deep sea 3 days a week, love it and weight is not an issue
Yea…Baby, I’m wearing my Sea Dweller Red Text…. 50 Anniversary 126600 …… I love it …..better luminous indices than the old predecessor 16600 and with the updated bracelet…..what’s not to like. 👍👍👌👌😍 holds up nicely in the Hot Tube a depth of three feet. 😅🎉
Had the sd43 sold it .deepsea more comfortable on 7’5 wrist which surprised me and no cyclops distraction
well that was quite thorough sir Ush nice job. would be interesting for me to have you do a comparison of the Sub 5513, 14060, 114060, 124060's. maybe next video? most iconic model.
The DSSD JC is absolute lush on a Rubber B Pacific Blue strap... Unlike with the SS bracelet the head feels glued to the wrist... and the shade of blue perfectly matches the blue in the dial.
Oh boy Oison.
I have been on the waitlist for a sub for twenty one months. Put my name down the same night i bought my Omega Seamaster 300 SMP black.
Well got the call today. I was offered the Sea Dweller instead. I declined and said my heart is set on the 41mm sub. Maybe a mistake?
I'll bring my sales rep who called some treats next week, thank him for the call and hope he wasn't disrespected by passing on the offer. The wait will continue. Honoured to get the call regardless.
Hey Olsin, watched your live stream. Have a black date sub and happy with it. Have a 7.5 inch wrist and can pull all three of them, but love the color of the Sea Dweller, it's not the diameter, or the lug to lug, it's the girth and weight of the Sea Dweller. And agree, the Deep Sea would fit perfect. Still not worth trading up to me. Not a wunder lust person like some of our friends.
Love it....thanks for the info as I am on "The Hunt"
My choice between the three would be the Sea Dweller. A real-spec diver, compared to the Sub (I find the newer version a bit boring tbh), and not a behemoth like the Deep Sea. That being said, I would take the Blancpain FF titanium over all three any day of the week.
Nice Rolexes, since this is a diver watch content, I thought I mentioned my Seiko LX Spring Drive diver black on black, I bought the latest 2023 LX this summer, I do not dive much but, when I do my girl really appreciate my new 2023 Seiko LX spring drive diver, my time down below is precise and timed accurately, thanks to my spring drive calibre. I like the big boy Rolex Bruh, bet my girl might appreciate that Rolex when prepare and plan for my dive hahaha.
Love my sd43 mk1 dial ❤
I am so torn between a Sea-Dweller (126600) and a Deepsea (126660) to go with my black dial Explorer II (226570). I go back and forth and just can't decide! The SD seems to be the safer play and the DSSD seems to be the bolder play. I will have to watch this video a few more times. Thanks so much for putting it together Oisín!
Great information
Well detailed review.!! SD 43.!!!🥰👍…Thank you.!!
All great watches! ❤❤❤
Great stuff! - I heard this is the first Submariner to have internal AR coating.. definitely the way to go over none or outer.
Oisin: I’m JayJay and I asked if you would do a video comparing the Sea Dweller 43 with the Deep Sea, thank you!
I would love to see the Sea Dweller 43 and the Deep Sea in full titanium, they would be much more comfortable. ❤
the deepsea on a rubber strap is brilliant.
Very nice Video. Thank you. Which one do you like the most from these 3 ?
Awesome video , I love the submariner 41,no date , love the ergonomics and aesthetic on this beautiful time piece ,
SD43 is super cool. I love the bi metal. The Sub is obviously the better choice for your first or your everyday diver. They're all great. The Dwellers are fun. Jeans and a T or hoodie bangin around on the weekends.....Cool
Owned all 3 but now only have the SD43. Agree with you Oisin, it's the goldilocks model. The DSSD dimensions between case thickness and bracelet just look odd. The DSSD and SD43 wear better if the extension link is removed. The DSSD also works better on a rubber B strap.
I never thought about the removal of the divers extension. Can you elaborate?
The rubber b straps are too short if wrist is 7.25 inches up , thank me later
The tang buckle ones
Oisin, any reflection on prior videos on pricing of R?
Thanks for that video. I have a Doxa 1500T with a silver dial called Searambler I think you might like that watch. I wear that watch on my 71/4 in wrist.
Thanks , all the best from portlaoise, Sean
Excellent presentation
I prefer the SUB
Just got my SD 43 couple days ago. It's ceazy how nice it is. And I also have a tudor pelagos, whichI love.. . I went for the SD43 because it was available. The deap sea had a one and a half waiting line.. But honestly, if they'd had both watches in front of me, I don't know what I would've done.. deep down, thought, never more apropriate to say, I think the SD43 is the right watch. More versatile. Glad I wasn't force to chose.. Super happy with SD43,
