@@allendeutsch3188 I've not had time to look as it stands now I will likely have to buy a router and a bit. I think I know what I need not sure, it's an odd groove maybe 1/2 inch from the top of the board, making a round edge. I'm sure it's still being made. This house was made in the late 80's so it should be impossible to match some styles.
I am buying a new home. What are the benefits of having windows sill? Right now I am skipping this considering cost-cutting. If I know the real benefits of it and if this is something that can't be done later then I'll re-think it. Please help me.
Thanks James. That may be technically correct. I believe they are use interchangeably. The company manufacturing them is called sill rite. And is selling these branded as window sills.

Great video I was calling it a window sill instead of stool, I removed it having trouble where to find new one stoo stool
Glad it helped! I believe they can be used interchangeably
Hey, I'm going to be doing this to a window in my house soon, did you find what was causing the original water leak?
Hi Robert! It was just damage from condensation build up from normal wear and tear over the years. The windows were 25 years old
How many videos follow this to complete the job? I feel like I missed one
Hi! There are 3 videos in total for the window sill repair
I don't have a compresser or finisher nail gun but I can get one it's easy
No need for a compressor and nail gun with this method!
“This is where the fun begins…”
Oh yes!
The apron? (the thingie on the bottom) can it be removed the same way as the sill?
Sorry for the delay in response! Yes, the apron can be removed the same way if needed

Hi Kumar, we are not actual builders/contractors but from what we have researched, window sills are a very important and necessary part of windows.
what is the first tool you mention ? the handy seeks or something ?
Hi, thanks for watching. It is a 6 in 1 painters tool
@@DIYCollective Thank you!
@@dilangames7027 you're very welcome!
Did you have a water leak around the window?
Yes there most definitely was
And some knee pads!
Haha yes! Definitely have some now :)
My window sill is fitted to go under the dry wall on the sides, and is nailed 😔
You can still do it you will just have to pry it out and fix the drywall potentially after as I did. Hope you managed to get it replaced!
Our window sill is plastic and ive never seen a plastic one before
This should do the job for you!
tools drop on the hardwood floor nooooo
Ahhh yes noob mistake but the no major damage done
Sorry but what you are working on is called a stool not the sill.
Thanks! That's right, I believe the terms are used interchangeably . The product is called silltech so i referred to it as a sill
I believe what you removed was the stool, not the sill. Sorry 😞

You destroyed the wall
Hi Ryan, thanks for watching . The sill and wall were already destroyed from water damage and needed repair.
Multiple videos. Advertising shilling more likely. Cost me 20 seconds!
