Thank you for this video! I was able to assemble it by following your instructions, however my valve leaks a bit when turned on. What did I do wrong?
@@clay.allsoppp Thanks for watching! It's hard for me to say without being able to see it but what I would do is: note the place that is leaking, and then take it back apart to see what's going on. Maybe there's just some washer that didn't set right or something didn't get tightened all the way.
@@DIYCollective Thanks for your response! It seems to be leaking from behind the ball and coming out of the front where the lever is. I tried taking the springs out and putting them back in, but it still leaks when the water is on. Do you know if this is a symptom of a bigger problem? (Like the pipes getting messed up in the disassembly?)
@@clay.allsoppp it's hard for me to know without seeing but as it's only leaking when the water is on it's probably something with the new valve and not your pipes. I'd be more worried if it was spraying without turning on the water on the valve. Maybe you got a defective one, you could try to exchange the kit. Best of luck finding the leak
What if the sil is in a pre-war apartment building and painted in
@@colony7591 thanks for watching. I'm sure you can change it in any building. You may have to scrape those layers of paint away to break it free
The water didn't seem to fully shut off at the end of the video?
@@heatherallain6860 thanks for watching . this has been installed since the video and since working like a charm. No water leaking til now, knock on wood.
I have textured walls and im literally scrapping off the texture in thr process 😂
@@Its_about_that_time oh yeah not much you can do about that. You can probably retexture that part of the wall pretty easily after you scrape it all off
Hi what is the yellow thing you put the liquid nails in.
what is the first tool you mention ? the handy seeks or something ?
Hi, thanks for watching. It is a 6 in 1 painters tool
@@DIYCollective Thank you!
@@dilangames7027 you're very welcome!
Nailed it 👍
Thanks 👍
Thanx for the video. VERY helpful dealing an old house delta tub facet. These kind of vids are timeless.
You're welcome. Thank you for the kind words. Glad it was helpful for you.
Great video. I'm down to removing the bonnet & am hesitant because it's the original install from the 80's. A plumbing company said I'd have to keep the silver one or it would be $800 for the switchout! Aaagh! I'm wanting a matte black & Danco seems to be the only one that is compatible to the 600 series. I wish Delta would make a black finish kit!
Thanks for watching! Yeah, that's true. it would be a lot more work otherwise to change the piping behind the wall for a different fixture. I suppose you could also paint this delta kit matte black with spray paint.
after doing this the problem is still there.........i wonder is it the motor's problem.
Hi, thanks for watching. in this case there might be a clog elsewhere in the vacuum that might be restricting it. Otherwise, you're probably right that the motor in the head could eventually go bad. Try cleaning the filter and check there's no other obstruction in the hose.
Having the same brush roller problem, the culprit was that the white nylon motor gear had worn so that it was not gripping the motor axle. A drop of super glue fixed it.
@@PhilipMorris-v1d that's good to know, thanks!
Where did you get it
This is the one I used. I got it on Amazon. Richard 80833 Goose Neck Angular Paint Brush with Flexible Soft Grip Handle, 2-1/2" a.co/d/9EBpYNY
If that paint is a different colour u can’t use that strategy
That's true if you were just touching up and didn't have the matching paint . Luckily, I was painting the whole ceiling in this case
I usually tape paint brush to pole😊
That will definitely work as well 😃
My does not stick out from wall like that is just flash with wall:(
I also have the same cartridge with the ball. I think is the 600 series. However mine is flash with the wall so I installed a kit from Amazon and the leverage hits the plate. Urs is sticking out from wall which is good
Thank you for watching! Hope you got it all sorted out
Thanks
Thanks for saving me hours of trial and labor
You're welcome. Thanks for watching. So glad it helped!
Thanks!
No problem! Hope it helped
“This is where the fun begins…”
Oh yes!
Thank you for this video. I was questioning if this kit was compatible because the handle is a different shape. You demonstrated it is!
Glad it worked out for you!
@@DIYCollectivewait a second, I just noticed there's no button diverter on yours while mine has one.
Is this better than using a paint pad?
Hi, I've never used a paint pad so I can't say. It does look like an interesting product as well. Thanks for watching!
What material is that?
It's a special composite material from a company called siltech that won't rot like wood
Mine is super dirty this looks easy!
Did you have a water leak around the window?
Yes there most definitely was
I was so easy to change out. Took me about 10 minutes. Thank you for the video.
That's great! So glad the video was able to help you!
it looks like there was termites just fyi if you didn't notice when you lifted that board
Thanks for the heads up. In this case it was just water damage thankfully
Ur camera of
Where did you buy the sill?
Home Depot online. I see it's not there anymore though . You may have to check with siltech directly
The pole is heavy and hard to control, though. For me anyway.😢
I understand . There are some super light weight poles as well. But, It's hard on the back and shoulders regardless. Still safer and faster than going up and down the ladder in my opinion so it's a trade off
Now just to find the right rebuild kit. Hopefully Menards Lowe's has one
Thanks for watching! Hope you managed to find the kit and get it rebuilt.
Thanks for video man
Thanks for watching! Hope it helped you get it fixed
God Bless, you seem like a sweet man, I can tell by your mannerism and tone of voice.
Thank you, and thanks for watching and your support
I don't have a compresser or finisher nail gun but I can get one it's easy
No need for a compressor and nail gun with this method!
Hi, i use this thermostat and when cooling of i on the fan the compressor start ? On fan should compressor not start. I have package unit How to fix this issue?
Hi I'm not clear on your question but if you go through the installation guide in the application on your phone or tablet it should walk you through which wires go where. Good luck!
You are the man!!!!
Any chance tou can give me the model of this valve
Sorry I'm not sure . But if you remove the old one there should be some markings to search online for. Good luck!
This is literally the shower valve of the 30 year old apartment im living in. Inwas literally trying to repair it right now coz it was not sealinf properly and it was slightly leaking around the valve. Just manage to stop the leaking at least temporarily. Apparently overtime it gets lose
Hope you managed to get it fixed!
Ok so if you have a jumper wire do you still count the letter that the jumper wire was connected to?
Sorry not sure about this. If you follow the guide through the install app it should direct you . Hope you were able to get installed
Great video I was calling it a window sill instead of stool, I removed it having trouble where to find new one stoo stool
Glad it helped! I believe they can be used interchangeably
My window sill is fitted to go under the dry wall on the sides, and is nailed 😔
You can still do it you will just have to pry it out and fix the drywall potentially after as I did. Hope you managed to get it replaced!
My dog just chewed mine. This video is perfect, thanks.
Same, were you able to find a replacement?
@@allendeutsch3188 I've not had time to look as it stands now I will likely have to buy a router and a bit. I think I know what I need not sure, it's an odd groove maybe 1/2 inch from the top of the board, making a round edge. I'm sure it's still being made. This house was made in the late 80's so it should be impossible to match some styles.
Well done thats easier than climbing ladders
Thanks. Yeah, it's a little easier but definitely more safe
So the one you took out was cut to fit with the edges overlapping on the outside drywall. What you are putting in is simply a square cut piece. Am I missing something here, because there's no mention of a track already cut out to accept the new one. I have about half a dozen of these to do and need to know these things. 🤔
Hi sorry I missed this . Mine just seemed to fit that way you don't have to put it into the drywall like that with the notches . Hope you were able to get these installed .
My dc boots sole is falling off too 😂
I saw somewhere else too you can use a bunch of rubber bands all around the boot to help hold the sole to the boot as it dries. Thanks for the video! Happy shredding my dudes!
Great tip!
Shouldn’t you have put calk around the trim first to seal from the inside and outside before placing the large chrome trim on?
I simply caulked the chrome on the outside after install. That's the way I've always seen it done. Doing it in and out will definitely make it ultra leak proof . Good idea
stupid bindings in the back rub on it, so put tape on your bindings else your sole-heel might come off the shoe
Same problem here!
Good call!
but does it work well under stress in cold temperature??
It does! I have been out on the mountain 20+ days on the boots since the repair without issue
@@DIYCollective Great ! thanks for your answer! I will give it a try as well now
Used a heat gun/scraper after sanding a few spots down and it worked 1’000x better. Thanks!!
Our window sill is plastic and ive never seen a plastic one before
This should do the job for you!
