My grandma and I cried to this song after my grandpa passed away (after finding out Lewis wrote this after his grandma died.) 😩just a beautiful song, beautiful artist.
Oh god... After a case of unrequited love ruined my friendship with my best friend, this song absolutely devastates me... Hearing him immediately understanding the emotion behind the song is bittersweet. While I'm comforted by knowing that I'm not alone in this experience, I also wouldn't suffer my worst enemy to that kind of feeling. Nothing can prepare you for it and nothing but years of being apart can heal it. Even then, you still are never completely over it...
Whether you are going through a breakup or bereavement this song sums up all our pain and heartache. Great song writing again.

Lovely reaction, and this can easily be understood as a break up song, but if you put his Nan in this song instead of a girlfriend, then you have the true meaning behind the song. He wrote this after his Nan went away. It works perfectly in both settings. Continue the good work :)

@@glcnornes3783 - It certainly can be applied to a perceived separation as a result of a death, as well as a particularly hard break up. I wonder if he realizes that our loved ones never REALLY leave us after they've crossed over. Just because our logical side tends to block our perception, doesn't mean our R brain lacks all intuition (especially when we see, hear or smell things that remind us of that specific person). They are never gone.

@@glcnornes3783 - After dying this year for a couple of hours, and returning to the shock and surprise of my doctors...I can assure you that we are NOT our bodies. Think of us more like the voice inside your head that is able to sit back and question why you are having a certain thought at any given moment.
The part of you that is able to question why your brain is acting one way or another is the part of you that remains when the brain and the body cease to be animated. You are the animator. I know that isn't the best description but trying to put the complexities of that into words isn't always easy.
So far all of his songs that I've heard are excellent. He's got an amazing voice also.

I am sorry to hear you are going through a rough time. I know how hard it is to loose or have to let go of a "close friend", I have needed to do the same in the past. It is always so hard in the moment but you definitely did the right thing and it is one of those things that you will look back and thank yourself for over and over as opposed to looking back and regretting not having done it sooner.

It was the visuals in this video for me. It kinda seemed like the people stopping him were complete strangers - almost like saying that everyone knew they weren't good together, or saw how bad of a break up it was and just knew instantly it was a bad idea.
