It's interesting to see what non-Scandinavians think of this film. It's basically a commentary on our most stereotypical flaws and how brutally they would backfire given the right (or wrong) situation. It's exaggerated of course, but I cannot imagine the same movie being made in a different culture.

I have been listening to a lot of stories lately where people don´t manage to excise themselves from really bad situations because of social pressure and not wanting to rock the boat. This movie seems like that problem taken to the logical and gruesome conclusion.
It's vitally important to not take anyone's sh!t. If you feel demeaned, taken advantage of or under appreciated, just know that #YouCanWalkAway
There isn't always a peaceful option. Sometime you've got to waltz out that door whilst flippin' them off.
Don't let people use you.
This fcking film remained me of all the instances when I did not defend myself or, worse, my kids due to my fear of displeasing somebody!
Before I watch this review…I had my heart ripped out by this movie. It takes the cake as most depressing ending that I’ve seen in a horror. Wow. I was shocked.
Wow what a movie. The ending left me frustrated and pissed off. I could not believe the stupidity of the family, the father especially. I knew was going to be rough ride when the turned around for that dammed rabbit. The film does it does stay with you. I read about how the director was satirizing the politeness of Scandinavia culture. #youcanwalkaway
Yay I'm glad you guys did this one. This movie was quite good and kept me on the edge of my seat. It's kind of like "Creep," where it comments on the very real social pressure to override your instincts for the sake of conflict avoidance, but played completely straight and is a pretty brutal tragedy. If we didn't learn the lesson in "Creep," hopefully we learned it here, and just like Jack says: "Judge and judge hard!" lol #YouCanWalkAway

This film made me furious. At first I wanted to shout "run, do not come back", and then I wanted to kick and claw and bite at those monsters, because it is better to die in a fight that die slaughtered.
The first red flag was when Patrick made Louise try the meat dish knowing she was vegetarian and she acquiesced, instead of showing anger at his inapproprite behaviour.The problem with too much civility is that you do not know when exactly start to fight you are not allowing yourself to get angry, and then it is too late. Be rude, be ackward, stay alive. #youcanwalkaway

I fully get where the movie was going with and the ending was indeed bleak so kudos to the film makers for acheiving that. however, too many plot contrivances were involved in order to get the victims to their final fate. 'Where's bunny?' followed by 'OOh here he is, right in front of me..' but at a moment too late for example, scuppering escape attempt 1. The red herring empty fuel tank, followed by deciding to drive down a dirt track, and all the convenient events following that decision scuppering escape attempt 2, sealing their fate....and so on.
Plus, I'm left wondering how these serial killers remain undetected, what with the obviously large number of families they have killed in their entriety, those families going missing and some of them, indeed the family victims here, informing other people exactly where they are going prior to their disappearance. (The postcard, stuck on their fridge door, has the address and picture of the killlers, discussed with their other dinner friends)...hmmm
